Awesome, fun people serving some legitimatly good beers. Not 40 different niche beers..but doing a few and doing them well. Sometimes that's all ya need (along with the smiling faces and HiFives). Had a chance to stop in for their carshow today and have a few beers. All were very tasty, I particularly enjoyed the Yokyo Drift pilsner. I'm looking forward to the next time they will be open for on site consumption, but look for big things from the crew here at Piston Pete's!

Ive brought friends here in the past and have always gotten positive feedback afterwards. Recently though, it feels like it's lost a little of its charm. The menu needs updating because with all the crossed out items on the board, it looks a little low end and like they're out of things. But they also always seem to be out of multiple items when I come these days. There's no food options any more most of the time, but the display cases remain. And seating... it feels like they got rid of 1-2 tables and the tables that were outside. There never seems to be enough seating so it's both cramped while also empty looking now. They have these side benches to sit on, but no one ever uses them because they're not super comfortable or good to chat with anyone with. Also, the bathroom. It's usually open, but twice now Ive been in there where there's zero toilet paper or the paper towel dispenser is out, but someone has just put a roll on top to tear at your own will. I loved this place so I hate saying more negative than good. The drinks remain amazing, but for a spot that is so popular, it's losing some of its own charm.

My husband thought the latte was a tiny bit runny/watery (if that makes sense) but I thought it was fine. I'm not an oat milk drinker, but I enjoyed the flavor of the oat milk. The tiny downside is that the oat milk kinda overpowers the matcha flavor. It was a nice smooth drink. We also ordered a chocolate croissant and it was good too. I was happily surprised to find this coffee shop and will definitely go back and even get coffee beans there.

So vigilante is keeping 3 adults moving. Whenever we get beans, they are fresh roasted within the week. I love the locally roasted beans and they are always perfect. My FIL loves tin Lizzie and so do I but I have really enjoyed some of their other blends! El Fuego is another go to. They have some great cafe drinks, some good snacks and the seating area is spacious. I am glad the vista location opened to avoid the South O crowds in the thick of summer. I went up politely and asked if something could be done, and they told me they recently changed oatmilk. Totally fair, and I understand the barista followed the process. But since I genuinely didn't like the drink, I asked if they could replace it with something else. They said they could, but I'd have to pay again. It wasn't about the money for me, it just didn't feel like great customer service, especially as someone who comes there often. Just sharing my experience.

I think my family and I might have found our go to coffee shop. My baby girl has visited Compa Coffee Roasters (CCR) one time previously, she enjoyed it, and requested that we stop by. This was my first visit to this coffee spot and after just the very first sip of my iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet, CCR will be seeing this Filipino giant again. Compa Coffee Roasters is located in Rancho Bernardo specifically off the 15 freeway and the Rancho Bernardo Road exit. If you're driving north, make a right after you exit and head east. If you're driving south, make a left after you exit and head east. The coffee joint can be found in The Mercado outdoor shopping center with its anchor store being Barons Market. Besides Barons, Kangnam KBBQ, Pho Cao Dao, Xuan Tailoring & Alterations, Pizza Hut, Fed Ex, and one of our fave boba drink places, Presotea all reside here. There is plenty of parking, but when we visited, it was busy, so you might have to park far. CCR was jam packed when we entered, so obviously I'm a little late to the party of knowing what an awesome coffee spot this is. It's got a really cool vibe with wooden sun art on their walls, flora throughout the space, and the focal point being the diligent baristas doing their thing. There are wooden tables, bench seating, bar top with no bar seating, and plenty of outdoor seating. From the gentleman at the register and the baristas, the staff were friendly and had a positive disposition. Their merchandise was really cool especially their logo tshirts that looked like an old school San Diego Padres logo. I remember when Compa Coffee Roasters had just opened in Rancho Bernardo and I had been meaning to visit, but never got around to checking it out. Blessed that it was my coffee aficionado baby girl who enticed me to go and she was spot on CCR being a good coffee spot. CCR opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. Besides coffee, the java joint serves sandwiches, afternoon eats, variety of food, bagels, toasts, beer, and wine. When I talked to friendly gentleman behind the register, I asked what he recommended for someone who enjoys sweet coffee. He provided several recommendations including their Salted Maple Latte, which is what my daughter had planned to order. I kindly asked for an iced Salted Maple Latte, requesting it to be sweeter, and looked forward to trying my first CCR coffee drink. It was delicious from the first sip to the last, so much so that I savored that drink for quite awhile, which is abnormal for me. That's how tasty it was. It was the perfect sweetness for me, my taste buds could distinguish the coffee, and it was really flavorful. If you're into sweet coffee drinks, I highly recommend CCR's iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet. You're welcome!!! I'm thankful to God for being able to spend quality time with my baby girl treating her to some cup of Joes from Compa Coffee Roasters. I'm also blessed that our new go to coffee spot is just around the corner from our home.

The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the vanilla cinnamon latte with oat milk -- a large comes with three shots which is music to my ears. The latte was a perfect balance of sweet and spice and you definitely tasted the coffee, which is important to me. I also treated myself to the Santa Fe bagel which was packed with flavor and ingredients! Definitely worth the price and I would order it again. This may be a new addition to my coffee rotation :)

Vanilla flat white was just as good. I would say Carlsbad for coffee this place is a must stop.

My latte was garbage, it tasted like a glass of milk no joke. No flavor, at all. If I wanted a glass of milk for $8 I would've gone to the store and bought a gallon and poured it over ice. Literally just tasted like milk and nothing else. See below how pale and ass my latte looks for $8!!! DO NOT COME HERE YOUR LATTE WILL LITERALLY JUST TASTE LIKE MILK. I watched the barista pour soooo much milk into my drink. And no, I didn't ask for extra milk. The cashier rung it up that way for no reason. Ridiculous mistake, if I ask for light ice why would that mean I want extra milk that makes it a 12oz glass of milk??? Yikes
