You'd think Petaluma (where I live) would have more Dr's who see chickens, so when I had a chicken emergency and was frantically calling around, Dr Lane was the first one available to take my girl. Now, she's the only one I call if I have a chicken issue come up. Ironically, I have actually never met Dr Lane, due to covid restrictions, but have only dropped my girls off and spoke with her over the phone. She's called me after hours to answer my questions or concerns, and always gives me a follow up call a few days after the appointment. It's clear she really knows chickens and cares about her patients. I highly recommend Dr Lane for anyone who has chickens.

    Happy mama

Thank you so much for trying to help our little quail Betty, and thank you for the card I am so happy to have found such a lovely vet practice that takes birds. Picture is of another mama in our flock, if we ever need help again we are definitely bringing them here.

Thank you, Memorial Beach! It was a long shot to give you a call for an avian vet, but you guys came through for me. Next time, instead of calling the clinics who advertise they have avian vets closer to me who give me the run around, I'll call your clinic from the get go. It's a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. I was impressed and pleased with the professionalism and service.

    Thanks to Memorial Beach Vet!

We recently brought our pup in to be spayed - it was a routine procedure for their team but a stressful one for our pup and her people. The team put us at ease and took great care of our girl. They set us up for successful healing with meds and recommendations (yes to the Suitical recovery suit instead of a cone or donut around the neck!). And we're thrilled that the post-op healing is going smoothly. We're so thankful to have such a caring and compassionate Vet team so close to home! Thanks All!

We once had a dog tear her meninscus and PetCare (where we also have gone if it was a weekend) quoted us $4,000 for surgery. Dave said "Or you could give her pain pills and rest and see if she heals" She healed just fine. I trust this man with all of my animals. He knows intuitively when expensive measures are not necessary and when they are. When he went into semi-retirement, I was nervous about a new doctor. But I should have known he would choose someone so special to be his successor. Dr B is just as amazing and just as capable and the kindest human. I trust her completely. I feel so very lucky to have such a caring team for my animals. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and Dr B helped us CURE HER of her diabetes. The empathy the staff has is unparalleled to any other Vet clinic I have been to. Thank you to all of you.

I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. They even allowed me to arrive and then back out when I couldn't go through with it. That level of kindness and humanity is something I will never forget. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.

I normally do not leave negative reviews, but this experience left me genuinely disappointed…read more We brought our puppy to The Dog and Hydrant for three grooming visits total. During the very first visit at only around 3 months old, they mentioned he was somewhat difficult around the face/head area and were unable to fully complete the trim. Fair enough -- he was a very young puppy experiencing grooming for the first time. What makes this situation frustrating is that his second visit went completely fine. They successfully completed his undercarriage, face, and head trim with no issue reported at all. On this third visit, we were told he was "wiggly" and somewhat mouthy specifically around face trimming. We were also informed he chewed on a few nearby things, including the groomer's hair. While I absolutely understand puppies can be energetic and require patience during grooming, this is still a young dog in the acclimation stage -- not an aggressive adult dog with a history of dangerous behavior. More concerning was that his nose was nicked during the appointment, and immediately afterward we were told prescription sedation would now be mandatory for any future grooming visits. That recommendation felt excessive and honestly alarming considering the circumstances. Suggesting sedation for a puppy because he was wiggly during face grooming raises serious concerns for me about patience, handling expectations, and experience working with young dogs still learning the process. To be clear, the cut is passable and the front desk staff was polite and professional. My issue is more with the overall handling philosophy and escalation to mandatory sedation after what sounds like fairly typical puppy behavior. We will unfortunately be taking our business elsewhere.
