They are also reasonably priced. I am getting married this week and my mom's dress needed to be altered. They got the dress done in just a few days and are so flexible with my schedule. I got a quote elsewhere for double the price, but what Memorial Tailors suggested that we do made much more sense and was so much more cost efficient. Picked up my dress and was very pleased with the service. I did have a scare with the dress being made too small, but it was due to my pulling it up at a bad angle (it has 3 layers). They had to make a quick on-the-spot alteration to the sleeves as they were tightened too much, but overall I had a good experience. I will say the alterations are expensive, including the fee for the sleeve alteration that had to be undone, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. Otherwise I do recommend their services. read more

Ok.. I'm going to be honest! The reviews are totally all over the place. I needed somewhere to get my wedding dress altered from a size 10 to a size 2!! Memorial Tailors came recommended from Misora, where I bought my dress. Anyways.. I was nervous. It was either going to be perfect or a nightmare.. I tried on my dress, Charlie pinned me up all over the place, told me it would be ready in two weeks, and I left. Two weeks?! For a wedding dress?? I was skeptical. I prayed and prayed and showed up for my first fitting. When I arrived, they weren't quite done, which irritated me and I had to come back an hour later. I came back, tried it on, and it was absolutely PERFECT!! They couldn't have done a better job! It was a completely different dress!! You couldn't even tell that it was eating me for lunch just two weeks ago. We decided to add cups and a bustle and he said it was no problem. I came back in another 2 weeks, they were on time and it was yet again, perfect!! Charlie was so amazing, knowledgable, and confident in his work!! I would give 2.5 stars if I could. Used them for my wedding dress, it took multiple attempts at getting the dress to fit right, going back and forth from it being too tight to too big. Overall, the service and quality of work is just average and very pricey. My dress ultimately was stepped on and torn beyond repair due to their bustle work. A basic hem, bustle and taking the sides in was $442 so next time I would look elsewhere for a more reasonable price since the work was on par with other tailors. read more

After being unsatisfied with alterations at the salon where I bought my wedding dress, I searched for the tailor that seemed by all accounts to be the best in town, so Memorial it was. I brought my dress in two days before the wedding in a total panic (I live out of town, so the whole process had been a little stressful) and they agreed to do a round of alterations in just 2 hours and have it ready by 6 pm on a Friday evening. When I returned, Charlie (about whom everyone is right-- he's super awesome, and um, pretty cute too) pointed out what things had been changed when I put it on but I still wasn't happy. There were some major issues and I was super freaked out. They told me that was all they could do-- so I had pretty much brought my dress in and spent another few hundred for no reason. They took the dress back and forth several times but there was still a problem with the dress liner bunching at my hips... so as I sat there teary-eyed in the tiny lobby I came up with a brilliant idea to take appliques off my train and sew them on to provide extra coverage over the lining where it bunched. They did that and I picked it up the next day... 24 hours before my wedding. It wasn't perfect still but at least they did what I asked. I have to give them 3 stars for the quick turn around, but it was really frustrating that they didn't suggest the applique idea, that I had to come up with it. The place is also super tiny and super busy so it made navigating the space in my dress with a huge train really hard. read more

I have been here 1x before to have my dress altered and they were great! That isn't why I am leaving this review though. I was surprised by the professionalism and kindness they showed to me today. I stopped by because I had a pretty bad (what I thought was a difficult/complicated) zipper snag on a brand new expensive dress. I assumed they would just provide me a quote and I'd pick it up at a later time, but they immediately had time to look at it and fix it within minutes at no cost! What a kind thing to do, I asked if I could leave a tip and they said it was no big deal. I am so happy there isn't even a tear on the inside lining, will definitely be making Memorial Tailor's my regular tailor! (Still new to the city.) read more

I had the worse experience ever with my wedding dress at that. They are unorganized and they don't keep their word. They really put me in a bind and didn't do anything expect argue with my mom about it instead of trying to fix the issue. I don't not recommend them at all. I took a shirt in to have the sleeves tapered and darts in the back and was helped by "the guy". When he pinned the sleeves i told him that i didn't think the pin was right. He told me "don't worry, it will be fine" and the shirt would be ready in 4 days. When i went back to pick up the shirt i tried it on and the sleeves still had the pins in them and no alterations had been done. The store owner told me that i could pick the shirt back up the following monday at noon. I went back in on Wednesday at 6:30pm ( 2 and half days after it was supposed to be ready) and they went to the back to get the shirt. I waited, and waited, and waited. finally "the girl" came out to tell me that the alterations were still not done and it would take them 15 minutes to complete. At this same time, "the guy" came out and said "the re-do" would be ready soon. I expressed my displeasure at it having been almost 2 weeks wait yet now they could do the alteration in 15 minutes, and "the guy" responded with, "you know what, I really don't care!"" I told "the guy", that it was quite obvious that they didn't care about the customer. Most of their business is driven by brides with bridal gowns that they can charge hundreds of dollars for alterations and unless that is what you are bringing to them, THEY DON'T CARE. "the guy" said so himself. the biggest disappointment about the entire experience was that the owner who was there at the time didn't even bother to come out and apologize for the horrible service or the rude employee. read more

A huge thank you to the guys at Memorial Tailors for altering my very fitted wedding dress at a great price! I went to 2 other places for quotes before here and they beat all other prices by about 40% less! I got 1.5 to 2 inches taken in on each side, built in bra added & bottom length shortened, and it came out perfect! The seaming with the boning and structure was still perfect after, I don't know how they did it! I took a long bridesmaids dress here recently as well, and again they beat the price of what I know my friends paid to get their waiste and length taken in. Very happy with this spot! read more

I needed a bridesmaid dress tailored in 3 days. I wanted the boning to be tight enough to hold my chest area and not wear a bra. I saw great reviews for this place and felt confident enough to come in. It was warranted. Excellent, friendly service. I've read reviews that they steam your attire after the tailor job. I picked up mine early, so that was not the case. While I was there, a bride was picking up her dress from them. She was happy. Affordable for the area. I will come here for all my tailor needs. I reached out to them regarding the issues I had with alterations they did and never got a response. I brought in a dress and the changes I requested I don't even think were made. I paid $40 and had to take it somewhere else to get completely redone. I've never had a suit tailored beyond having the length of the pants and sleeves hemmed and after my experience with Memorial Tailors I realize I have been such a fool. My suit now looks like a million bucks! Best fitting pieces of clothing I've ever put on my body. I went in and they knew exactly what I wanted when I spoke to them and I told them I didn't need the suit for a few weeks so they can take their time. 30 minutes after getting home I got a call that my grandfather passed away. So I called them back and said I needed it in probably the next two days and they made it happen with no charge. My grandfather was always a snappy dresser since he worked in NYC advertising in the mad men era and I know he would have been proud at how well I wore that suit and how well it fit. I came here to get my wedding gown fitted and I absolutely loved them. They were very sweet and got it done in 2 weeks (even though I didn't need it for 2 months). The woman could not have been nicer. She was so complimentary and attentive, even while other people walked in. The alterations were very well done. They added a bustle, took some fabric out and adjusted the straps. She showed me how to do the bustle and gave me some tips on steaming my dress. Plus I got 10% off for finding them on Yelp! Charlie does a fantastic job. I have had several pieces tailored and all of them were perfect. Most recently he tailored my wedding dress and it turned out beautifully. I am also getting a second wedding dress and formal gown tailored for a second formal reception and so far I am extremely satisfied. Highly recommend Charlie. His partner also does alterations and came recommended from a friend of mine. I bought one of the wedding dresses used and there was some stains on the bottom of the dress- after it had been cleaned previously. I took it to the shop and they cleaned it perfectly! saved me about $1000 in buying a new dress. my formal gown - I bought a Marc Jacobs sequined floor length gown at a huge discount because it had been hanging for god only knows how long so the seams had begun to rip and was a bit ill fitting at first. Charlie fixed it up perfectly and it fits like a glove. Similarly I found a clearanced dress with illusion cutouts which kind of bunched up- again they fixed the dress to fit perfectly and the illusion cutouts look fantastic- added cups, I was worried about the padding in the cups but they clearly know what they are doing because it looked great on. Lastly I wanted a specific look for a party I went to and found a skirt that was perfect except for the fact it wasn't high waisted. fixed, and when I went to pick it up the pockets had been removed, when I requested they put them back they did immediately within 20 minutes. fantastic customer service, great turn around. Keep in mind alterations for formal wear is not cheap, at first I had a hard time but it is so worth it when a dress fits you so well. I also plan on getting both wedding dresses cleaned and preserved there. Highly recommend. read more

My husband & I have yet to find a tailor with even the slightest bit of quality craftsmanship than Memorial Tailors. They are a tiny bit more expensive but you definitely get your money's worth. My husband had taken his dress slacks to another place in the area to hem the length. They were cheaper, but the hems started coming undone on ALL of his pants within only a month! He tried Memorial Tailors out and not ONE single stitch on any of the garments they've EVER done for us have come undone. Superb quality work and fast turnaround times. Just dropped off 2 suits & my bridesmaids dress to get major alterations done on Saturday and we'll be picking them up Tuesday afternoon. Just left this place, they charged me $30 to take an inch, really a half of an inch off of a pair of cotton shorts. Which is a bit excessive being that I know how to sew, and I've gotten tons of clothing altered before. But oh. I have used Memorial Tailors on about 15 clothing items over the past 6 months, ranging from bridesmaids dresses to taking in work clothes, to fixing snags and rips. I have not been disappointed once with the quality of their work, and what's more, the timing is great and prices reasonable. I usually go during lunch on week days and I do not have to wait long at all to receive service. They even completely rescued a brand new dress that I had worn only once and somehow snagged up the front in multiple locations. I did not think it was salvageable, but I brought it to Memorial Tailors and they gave it back to me looking brand new again! Extremely impressed and grateful! My husband recommended this place to me as he had been visiting them for years. They handle all of the tailoring on hissuites, jeans, and shirts (including his wedding suit). The only time he had an issue was when some pants were hemmed too short and they couldn't be fixed because there was no material left at the bottom of the pants. So they paid for the replacement pant and did the alterations on those too. They came out perfect. That's great service. I went to pick up the dress, the straps was shorten to much the and the back strap not done at all and the alterations cost $103.92 for them not to be completely done.
