I came here for an earring post repair. Took a bit longer that initially quoted which was totally fine my issue was the soldering of the post that I got put back on the earring was not cleaning up at all. It was a bit of a mess. I had to take a nail file to it in order to buff it off as it was too uncomfortable to wear. The work is holding up so I am happy with that, I just think if the time was spent to polish the earring, why Wasnt the site of the re-attachment also cleaned up? read more

I called to get a quote to refinish my Seiko watch, just the case. No bracelet. A gentleman said it should be between $50 and $60. I leave work on my lunch for a 25 minute ride there. A gentleman starts complimenting the watch. Passes it to another one who asks if I wanna sell it. Then says he can do it refinish the case for $125. I tell him I was told $50-60. He starts making up some excuse about how complicated it is to brush this simple watch is. Then says he can do it for $90 at the lowest. So shameful to try to squeeze new customers for every penny after saying it was $50 to $60. This is a super simple diver watch design that requires zero polishing, just brushing. It doesn't even have polished edges. Be aware, they are slimy. read more

I came to this shop to service my watches based on the reviews and so far, it is not disappointing. I brought in 4 different watches, 1 for battery change and the other 3 just for link adjustments. Ben, the older white gentleman, took a look at the watches and told me all 4 will be ready in approximately 20 minutes. I told him I'll be around the neighborhood as he was about to ask if I need to leave a phone number to call me when they're ready. After 20 minutes or so later, I came back in and he just came out with my watches. He informed me the battery changing watch needs some service done as the watch has been sitting for quite a while (which is true) and the battery has corroded. He even showed me the original battery with a bit of corrosion on it. He said I could still get a new battery but it probably won't last more than 3 months due to potential contamination by the acid or he could quote me an estimate. I asked him for the estimate and he came back and let me know the price which I feel is a fair price. As for the link adjustment, some fit nicely but there was 1 that was a bit too tight so he re-did it again really quickly by putting some links back in. The link adjustment is $10 a piece and I pay for that first. As for the service of my other watch, Ben have inform me there's about 7 days lead time and ask me to fill out the full contact detail for them to call me when it's ready. I will also pay for the service then. Over all, it's a small mom-and-pop watch repair shop that I do see men in dress shirts stopping by during lunch time to get their watch adjusted, repaired, or serviced. So I finally got around to taking my watches in to have the watch bands adjusted and the changing the batteries. I found this place on Yelp and from the reviews it was pretty much spot on. It seems like a small family owned place that sells and repairs watches. I gave them my watches to fix and they took approximately thirty minutes to complete. They have limited seating so I just went and ran some errands until they were finished. When I came back he was finished and he was able to size both watches perfectly to my wrist. The pricing was about average to what other places charge so overall I would definitely come back. He also offers a one time fee to have your watch battery changed for the lifetime of the watch which is pretty cool. read more

You get what you pay for.... I have been here once, I didn't even live in the area at the time. On a whim, I found this place on Yelp! and decided to go to get a watch resized. The technician took out a link and handed the watch back to me to TRY ON. Most places this would be good enough, but the technician took the time to assess the balance of the watch on my wrist and continued to rework the watch until the watch was perfect on my wrist with proper balance. I had brought in an automatic $750 watch to have a spare link re-inserted. When I received my watch back, they had forcefully over tightened the crown on the winding mechanism to where it was completely stuck. I could not even wind or pull out the crown. It took a pair of pliers to get it unstuck. The watch now exhibits moments where the automatic movement works intermittently. In short, they ruined my automatic watch. Avoid and take it to a legitimate AD for more expensive pieces. read more

After "googling" around for a watch repair shop in Houston, I eventually came across this one. I decided to take a risk and tried the place out because (1.) it was not too far from where I live and (2.) it had accumulated a 4 out of 5 star rating from Google reviews. The risk turned out rewarding. From the moment I stepped in, a friendly lady greeted and started a small talk with me. I told her I only needed to replace the battery and she got a guy to work on it right there and then. This is the first time I've encountered watch service like this. I've been to a couple of other watch repair places in the past and usually had to drop off the watch and come back later to pick it up. But at Memorial Watch Repair, my battery was replaced in 5 minutes! The service was also only just $10. While waiting for my watch, another customer came in because something on his watch had broken off and couldn't find the particular part anywhere. The lady who helped me found an alternative to use as a quick and dirty fix and didn't even bother to charge him. I thought that was really cool of her. I've been a customer at this location for several years for battery replacements and have previously had good service. The LAST time I went there was to service the Ebel watch my wife gave me. It had been her Dads. I had left the crown unsecured after changing the date and it had condensation in the crystal. MWR told me the watch was an expensive watch and had never been serviced. They said it needed cleaning and new gaskets...the cost would be $350. That was more than I ever spent on a new watch but given the circumstances, I sucked it up and paid (after waiting over 2 months for the work to be completed)! A couple of weeks ago I went scuba diving in Costa Rica and wore the watch on a dive to 65 ft. I had no concern since the pressure rating was 50 meters (170 ft) depth. . Last week I noticed condensation in the crystal - again. This time I took the watch to Donna Jewelry on West Bough since they had recently done some custom work on my wife's tennis bracelet and they are an authorized Rolex repair shop. Benjamin told me the watch had never been serviced...he showed me how it was dirty on the inside and the gaskets had never been replaced. I just needed a battery changed, and like other reviews have mentioned, they got to working on it quickly. I waited for maybe 7-10 minutes. Needed to get a watch battery replaced near my office so I came across this place. I also had a watch that needed repairs so I brought that along as well to get a quote. The service was great and battery was replaced immediately. Total time was about 5 minutes. The problem came when I was told it would be $27. I've had this battery replaced at other places and it have been around $8 and never more than $15. I was quite disappointed to not have been quoted the price beforehand. I left my other time piece with them to get a quote on repairs and was called four days later with an estimate of $200 to get it working again and an additional $80 or $120 to replace the crystal. Again, in my view, both overpriced quotes. In summation - the service was outstanding but prices were well above what I expected and would pay. Unless under dire straits, I do not think I would return. Five stars for service, one stars for pricing - thus the three star review. read more

I came in to inquire about replacing the crystal on a dive watch. The staff was very friendly and quoted me a reasonable price. After giving them the model number on the watch, Ben told me they would have it ordered and would let me know when it arrived. After approximately three weeks with no call, I reached out to Ben to see if the replacement crystal had been received. Ben was not available and I left my information and he called me back an hour or so later to ask if I had a ticket number (none was given at the time of order). When I informed him I did not have one, he told me he would call back that afternoon. After not hearing from him that afternoon, I called the next morning to see if he was able to locate the replacement part. He asked me again for my ticket number and told me that he would call me back that afternoon. Two days later, I have not heard from anyone at Memorial. I am disappointed with the customer service and will be going elsewhere for the repair. read more

It's a QUARTZ WATCH, they don't get oiled. They also jammed my bezel so it wouldn't turn smoothly. Condescending attitudes, just want to talk and not listen. First, it is a little hard to find as it is a small shopping center. I needed a piece for a band on my Seiko watch. They were very friendly and I liked the ambience of the place. I was quoted $45.00 for the piece and was told it would be a week for the part to come in. When I returned in to pick it up, the price was reduced by $10.00. I guess I should've spoken up, but he did have to keep resizing my watch a few times so I figured he charged more because of extra "labor." Let's see I've had two watch bands installed by them and these were not easy to find watch bands but Memorial Watch Repair found a way to customize and make the bands fit for my two watches. I've also had battery replaced on a number of watches and finally I've bought a brand new Rose Gold-Tone & Black Plated Stainless Steel Bulova from them at a very good price.
