They have the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I brought my watch in for repair, got a ticket and never heard from them until I reached back out. I inquired on my repair time and they never followed up. My belief is that they rely on their policy that if an item isn't picked up within 60 days that they can sell the item. I'm extremely disappointed with both the communication and the condition of my watch. After dropping it off, I went weeks without any update and had to repeatedly follow up myself. I was then quoted $795 to repair a watch worth roughly $400, and when I declined and asked to pick it up, I was told it had already been sent out without my approval. When I finally received the watch back, it was in worse condition than when I left it--now inoperable, with visible scratch on the chrono hand. I left a functioning watch with a stiff crown and received one that no longer works. Feels like sabotage. read more

I took a clock in to be repaired and they were amazing...It was a quick fix. They are wonderful and highly recommend.

I recently had my Grandfather Clock repaired by Mr. C watch and Clock. Initially when it was obvious that my clock needed repair I call another Grandfather Clock establishment and was told it would take 14 months however when I call Mr. C watch and Clock I was informed that the clock would be repaired in three weeks. The owner picked up my Grandfather Clock repaired the clock and returned it to my home on time. The clock is performing perfectly. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Mr. C: They were incredible! I brought in a watch whose metal band had broken and they reattached the hoops for a very reasonable price. That was great, but what else they did was incredible. I had a Saffire-stoned necklace that had come apart. One loop broke and was lost. They CREATED a new loop and reattached everything. I don't know how they did it. It looks like nothing had ever happened to it. It looks perfect. And the cost was so reasonable. I still can't believe the job they did on a difficult task. If I could, I'd give them 10 stars. For years (~10?) I have been coming here to have my watch batteries replaced and a repair or two. I have been very, very pleased with Mr. C's service and prices. However, I recently brought in 2 watches for new batteries, that were both working just fine. After they replaced the batteries, they tell me that one of the watches DATE function is no longer working, that it must have happened when I dropped the watch. (There was a blemish in the crystal, but it had occurred many months prior and the watch had always worked without issue.) I informed them that the watch had been working perfectly fine before and I did not agree with their assessment. Then another employee says they think they know what is wrong with it and take it to the back to try something else. Well, after a few more minutes they come back and the watch is still not working. They double down on their claims that it was broken when I brought it in. Again, I insist that there was nothing wrong with the watch when I brought it in. My pleas fell on deaf ears and to make matters worse, they still charged me for the new battery. I paid to have them replace a battery for a watch they broke and no longer works. I will never go there again. I suggest you do the same, unless you need your timepiece broken. read more

They quoted us the cost of fixing our Westminster chime clock, and a time of 3 months. It took over a year and along the way the indicated the price was the never changed. When our friend in TX picked it up for us, they charged him over TWICE what they had told us....which they never let us know it would cost more! Now, less than a year later, the chimes are getting jammed and they won't perform. We'll never go back to them for they can not be trusted. read more

I'm not sure how you call yourself a "professional" and not know how to set a watch, or how to keep track of where you put the customer's order, or that changing a battery should not cost $20.00. Dropped my Casio off for a battery change and included the manufacturer's can, the manual, and my name, etc, in permanent marker on the can bottom. When I came to pick it it up the next day with my claim stub, I had to tell them "It was in a metal can" so they could find it. Two grown people running a watch shop had to have the customer tell them where the order was. Seriously. The time was not set, and they "offered" to set it, (like that was some kind of special skill or something. Duh, I have the manual. It's tricky, but you don't need a CC certificate to do it.) But that should have been done as a matter of SOP. I said I could do it. This used to be a nice shop years ago. It has gone to SH*T. Will never be back. read more

I have been using Mr. C's for many years. They can usually do the repairs while I wait. I have also purchased watches from this store. Their prices are excellent. They usually have a sale so be sure to ask! Their staff is helpful & customer service is their top priority. If they cannot fix it immediately then they can have it ready for you within a day or two. Dropped my mom's clock off to be repaired in November for Christmas. I got a call back and said that it wouldn't be repaired until April. Ok, I thought. Perfect for mother's day. When I called in May, they said it would be three more weeks. ("Ok, delayed mother's day). Then I called late May, and again they said it would be middle of June! So, they've had the clock for 8 months and can't get the timing/springs fixed in that time??? I'm beyond upset with their lack of service. read more

Took in an old chess timer for repairs. Waited for an estimate.... And waited.... And waited some more. Had to call multiple times only to have them say it would cost hundreds of dollars to fix (more than the timer was worth). Had they come back with the estimate quickly it would have been fine, but my other experiences there are no better. read more

I brought in an antique pocket watch to have a crystal replaced on Jan 25, 2014. They said it would take a few days (no more than 2-3) for them to call me with an estimate. Well 2 weeks go by with no estimate and I call to get an update - they give me a price and say that it might take a couple of weeks to find the part because it's discontinued. I say "No problem - go ahead. " I don't hear back from them so I call on March 19 (now 7 weeks) - "We still haven't found the part." To this I say, "can you tell me the info on the part you are trying to find and I will look too." They told me the info and within 1 week of casually searching the internet for the part I not only had one vendor but TWO who had the part needed. I have my doubts whether they searched "hard" for it. So I call up MR. C shop to try to get the watch (or the bezel) back so it can get fixed and I GET NO ANSWER FOR 3 DAYS - no answering machine - just ringing. So I drive over there today and there is sign on the door that they will be closed for a week. It's now 2 months since I brought in the watch for repairs and I still don't have it back. Will update next week (hopefully) after they return. 4/2 just picked up the watch and the person didnt seem to care at at all. All she said was we tried to find it but couldn't. I took in a Citizen eco-drive that the hands had quit moving on. The electronic portion of the watch still worked fine. I told and showed the fellow that before I left it...when my wife came back to pick it up, he had replaced the electronic portion...and the hands still did not move. He charged me $53. I ended up taking it somewhere else where they said it just needed a cleaning and charged me $30. I will never go back. read more

I am baffled by my visit to Mr. C yesterday. I have used his services for years and, as others have commented, appreciated the convenience of the location, the quick service and reasonable prices. But yesterday there was no one in the shop to wait on customers at the counter, just Mr. C working on watches. I stood at the counter for several minutes, even after making eye contact with him and smiling at him, but he never spoke or came to the counter. I finally said, "excuse me, can you help me?". If I could, I would give zero stars. I thought I would support our local businesses in Bellaire, so I called to see if they could replace my watch band. I was told they could and it would cost 8 dollars. I stopped by and confirm that it was 8 dollars and the lady behind the counter began to replace the band. The new band was too big so she removed some links. She completed the job and I put a 20 dollar bill on the counter to pay for the replacement services. She said it was 12 dollars for removing the links. I was a little surprised, but I said ok. She took the 20 dollars and then said I would not get any change since 8 plus 12 was 20. I was flabbergasted. 20 dollars for a standard 22mm band replacement. I should have had her removed the band. However, since I felt sorry for this small shop, I just left. I would NEVER use them again. I also would not recommend this shop. I am all for helping small businesses, but for 20 dollars for 10 minutes of work to replace a band is outrageous.
