Went one weekday afternoon to practice. Came here because they price per game and it's a fair price. Hate the "by the hour" newfangled nonsense and will NEVER patronize big corporate centers. Took my son bowling on Sunday for some father and son time. We got a Groupon For three games of bowling and shoe rental for two for nine dollars which was a steal. We were the first ones there and we were helped by a very friendly lady behind the bar/desk area and got set up and ready to bowl. The place is very outdated but really cool at the same time, reminded me of a place I might've hung out at his a kid minus the multicolor rugs and the video games. I love this bowling place! I've been here with my family throughout the years. It's a little on the expensive side but still worth going!

I am the bowling team there and whenever I go my lane brakes and I stay till 1:00 instead of 12:30

Horrible place.. called a week before to find out the hours for the following weekend for my kids bday gathering and was told 1 time.. now when calling the day before I was told the hours are shorter at the last minute as I have a group of 6. The staff there was extraordinarily rude. My father's a bit darker, and he said it was the first time he ever got a look that was purely racist, and got attitude that was rooted in pure racism. Our encounter went like this: My family: "hey, can we get a lane for 5 people?" Staff: "...Yeah what are the names?" My family: *proceeds to tell names Staff: *throws instructions at us* and then afterwards, "you're in lane 1" My family: *notices there are two families, one at 2, the other somewhere near 3,4* "uh, can we get lane 12? We want some space, if it's okay with you," Staff: "no." Me: "why not?" Staff: "because I said lane 1" My dad: "okay, I don't want to be rude, that's fine, I just wanted some space is all," Staff: *scoffs and says the following in a very derogatory and condescending tone* "if you wanted space, then you shouldn't have come to a bowling alley. There's bound to be people here," Needless to say, after that encounter with the very rude staff member, we bid her a good day and left. We didn't feel right giving business to a place that employs staff members like these. I really do hope no one else chooses to give them any service either. A fun bowling alley, with great employees. We stopped by on a rainy Saturday evening with family of all ages and had a great time. We headed out early for the little ones, but it seemed plenty of other people were just showing up, so it's a good place anytime of day. read more

We just celebrated my youngest daughters 9th birthday at Port Jervis Bowl and we all had a great time! When we got to the bowling alley there was plenty of parking for friends and family. We were allowed to bring in a birthday cake and ice cream, but no other food. The Port Jervis Bowl has great pizza pies and we ordered 5 of them. The adults and children loved the food. They had soda for the kids and beer for the adults. We scheduled the party for a Friday night because Port Jervis Bowl has a DJ that plays all kinds of music and takes requests. She even brings in disco lights because once she starts to play, Port Jervis Bowl dims the lights and starts the party! The children danced and bowled! They also put in requests for the latest dance songs and the DJ played them without hesitation. There are 2 coin operated pool table and some video games if the kids aren't into bowling. It was a fun filled night for the whole family! Great place to have a party, especially on a Friday night. read more

Very confused how a bowling alley is only open for leagues on a Wednesday night during February break?!

Came here with my brother while he was home from college. We haven't gone bowling together in a while, so since I heard that they recently changed owners at Pj's I told him we should give it a shot. To start, the place used to be a dump. Horrible nothing going for it. Was on a league for 16 years at another bowling alley and everytime I went to Pj's my ball would get destroyed. Guessing something with the returns. To my surprise walking into the newly renovated alley it was quite nice. All new lanes and systems. Updated to electronic scoring. The place was very nice and didn't smell musty anymore. Definite 10/10 on appearance. For the oil on the lanes I will say it was no where near the typical house shot and to me it seemed as if they just threw some oil down without an oil machine. 5/10 for that. Price wise, was a little overpriced. It was $4.50 a game plus I believe $2 for shoe rental. I have heard that they do $1-$1.50 I believe in Monday's? Not to sure on the day. I would call ahead. Would give a 7/10 for price. Over all would give a 7.5/10 for the bowling alley. Compared to the 1/10 I would have given it before. Definitely for the area of port Jervis a HUGE improvement. They really need to make more establishments for kids to go in this town/area. read more

My family and I are visiting Port Jervis for the first time. We dropped by PJs' while we all like to bowl. The person I spoke with early in the day stated they didn't have bumpers for children. It wasn't a big deal while my 4 year is actually pretty good and my 2 year old just likes to be with us. The lane we started on sloped down pretty bad on either side of center. I know while I was bowling and was playing the slope to see how badly it really was. After a couple frames, I asked if we could switch to another lane. The woman running the alley stated no-while they were all the same. The lane to our left and right didn't have a nice crease running down the center as ours did. Normally it wouldn't have been too big a deal-but considering we were the only people in the entire alley, it was awful customer service-she didn't even bat an eye. We're enjoying our time here so far. PJ's was awful. Stay away. read more
