Ssshs!Don't tell anyone this is the best bagel place in San Diego County! When I'm craving authentic New York Jewish style bagels I go to Memo's. They have a huge selection of bagels and cheeses. Where else would you find zatar, syracha, Muenster cheese bagels? Today they had cute rainbow bagels to celebrate pride and delicious chocolate ones. The bagels are large and soft in the inside. You can actually see the owner boiling the bagels. In addition they make the best breakfast sandwiches. Last year they expanded the store so now there are several tables inside where the air conditioning is a welcome treat in the east county. Two weeks ago they added an authentic Jewish deli featuring Dietz and Watson meats. The footlong sandwiches accompanied by their fresh squeeze juices like pomegranate and beets will surely satisfy hungry appetites. They also make fresh smoothies which we had the chance to sample the mango-orange, mixed fruits and berries ones. They were all refreshing without being too sweet. The service gives that authentic New York vibe which makes the line move quite quickly.

After the gym, I was looking a place to a quick breakfast. Much to my surprise I found this right next to my gym. They have fresh made bagels and fresh pressed juice available. I'm sure there's more other things on the menu just sandwiches, salads, and more. However, this caught my eye for something quick and fresh. I also really love their different cream cheeses. I can't wait to come back again. Don't forget that they have a special; one juice for $6.50, or three for $15 My recommendation is getting a green juice, and a fresh bagel with cream cheese. The staff is so nice here. It's also quite big with table so that you can eat or take your stuff to go.

Stellar bagels!! Excellent cream cheeses!!! The selection & flavors available are overwhelming. I opted for a jalapeño cheddar w garlic cream cheese & the habanero sriracha cream cheese. Both were amazing, the garlic cream cheese was very strong & potent, which if you love garlic, this is your jam. The jalapeño was simply yummy & reliable. Spacious & simple cafe w some seating, lots of drink selections & fresh made juices, and staff are super nice & quick. It's a small business, so obviously wins in my book for supporting them & good products.

FIFTEEN BUCKS No Sprouts No Cucumber No Bueno ugh

I got a #3 Veggie bagel sandwich to-go, which is $15 and is supposed to have cucumber and sprouts. The sandwich I just took a bite out of at home has at most one meager slice of thin cucumber that may well have been a pickle, and no sprouts whatsoever. This was the most disappointing item I have ever had from this restaurant.

Stopped in on this recently expanded bagel shop and was quite impressed. Although I have been coming here for years, the open area associated with the remodel is a welcomed space. The owner behind the counter is a staple on site and can tell she runs a nice business. Her employees are well trained, friendly and efficient. I ordered a garlic bagel, toasted, with a Schmeer of lox cream cheese and a coffee. The cost was $9.99 which I thought was very reasonable. The coffee station is a serve yourself and have options for a few different flavors. Choices of creamer available to dress your coffee as you like. I would prefer a carafe of cream or half and half vs the coffee mate sweetened creamers or the individually small creamers. I also felt the lox cream cheese lacked in flavor, it there was salmon in the spread I certainly couldn't taste it. They have a pretty expansive lunch menu offering wraps, sandwiches, and platters for catering. I'll have to give their sandwiches a try soon. As I said the new space is nice, airy, natural lighting, and open. I'm not sure ifs public restroom is in the plans as there was a door with a "do not enter" sign on it that I hope to be a restroom some day soon. Service was friendly and definitely enjoyed spending time here enjoying what I thought was a really good bagel.

Came in today (10/24/25) around 9:00am. The line had about 5 people ahead of me. There were two ladies behind the counter. One taking orders and one making orders. After about 5-7 minutes, I finally made it to the front to place my order. I ordered an everything bagel with egg/ham/ and cheese for $12dollars plus tax. I also ordered a large coffee which brought my total to $17.09. Well, shame on me for not looking ahead of time but their self serve coffee only had hazelnut flavored coffee, vanilla flavored, or dark roast. No house blend or medium roast. About fifteen minutes later my bagel was done and I left with my bagel sandwich and coffee. I walked over to the living room coffee shop because I was meeting a friend who forewarned me I'd be disappointed with Memo's. I should have listened. Excited to try my bagel, the disappointment just continued to come. I opened the sandwich to see they put Turkey on my bagel and not ham. It gets worse.....I took a bite and zero "crunch" or "snap" on the exterior the bagel. Just a soggy, sloppy mess through and through the bagel. Mediocre coffee, laughable amounts of the wrong protein on my sandwich, sorry excuse for a bagel. They've been in business long enough that my review won't matter. But, I'll never go back. For that kind of money, I'd rather pay a little more and go to Broken Yolk.

Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly kind and they really take pride in crafting the perfect bagel every single time. Their in house made cream cheese selection is a bagel lovers dream offering flavors like garlic chive, jalapeño, Greek feta, and strawberry. Memo's is a great spot for breakfast or lunch and, with an outdoor patio, is a good spot to come with a book or a small group of friends. It is very casual eating and, even though it is in the middle of a busy strip mall, tends to be a chill spot. I've come here more times than I can count for the bagel and lox. It is an ample service and always fresh. They have a huge menu for being such a small cafe. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches seem to be very popular. You can get a bagel with eggs, ham, turkey, bacon, sausage, tomato, spinach avocado and different types of cheeses, depending on the type. They also have deli meat sandwiches (also very popular) along with Greek, couscous, pasta, Caesar and other salads as well as Mediterranean pastries and Turkish delights. They have lots of different bagel flavors. My favorite is the everything, and they also have blueberry, poppy, sesame, onion, garlic, Asiago, egg and other interesting flavors like cinnamon, raisin, apple and banana nut. But come earlier than about noon, because they get busy and seem to sell out on certain items fast.

3.5 - I have been coming here for years and I feel that this place is hit or miss sometimes. Some things on the menu are great, like the bagels, but the sandwiches are just okay. Today I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich which came with burnt bread and did not contain mozzarella. When I asked the workers they said they don't even have mozzarella cheese, they just throw a "white" cheese and melt it with the chicken. Since acquiring the business next door, they have expanded their drink selection which is great. I also enjoy their salmon Lox bagels.

I've been wanting to go to this place for FOREVER!! I finally went and was NOT disappointed! I had the bacon egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel, GIRRLLLLLL!! it was on POINT! So simple and so dam good!! I also got some if their home made juices.....once again DELICIOUS!! My husband initially got the tune with no onion however there was onions in the actual tuna salad but they didn't hesitate offering another one, he went with the BLT and he was blown away! So simple but so gooood! He also got a chocolate chip bagel with Nutella but they messed that up as well and gave him a chocolate with cream cheese and THEY DID NOT HESISTATE TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE! I ended up eating the "wrong one" anddd ummmm guess what ? It was soo gooood! I'm already wanting to go back!! read more

Took a chance and ordered a lox bagel from here for myself and 2 bagels for my kids. Lox was gross and barely any cream cheese on the bagel & they added a lemon slice but the lemon seemed used and already squeezed by someone. Bagels were not good. My kids would not finish them. 1 was plain bagel, my son took a couple bites and would not finish it. My daughter got the egg sausage bagel and did not like it either. The bagels themselves tasted sour. Will not order from here again read more

This place is filthy! One of the ladies took money for coffee and then went about her business with the same gloves and prepping food. Same gloves. The refrigerator where they sell flavored cream cheese was nasty. Stuff dripping all over the containers. Place is in serious need of a cleaning. read more

Honestly, I've been looking for a good San Diego bagel since 2015 and I have finally found my place. Living in New York really spoiled me and unfortunately I am addicted to bagels. I have been thoroughly disappointed in my search for bagels until I stumbled upon Memo's Cafe. Immediately upon entering, the aroma of a fresh baked bagel hits your nose. The staff is extremely friendly but I don't care. I just want a good bagel. I started off with a classic bagel and cream cheese. I always start with the basics to gauge my bagel. The Bagel was toasted and savory plain cream cheese was smeared on. I didn't have high expectations since all my previous San Diego bagel experiences have been trash. But once I took a bite, that was it. I was back in New York. Perfect balance of crunch and chewiness. Just the right dose of cream cheese hit my veins. I was in heaven. I devoured the bagel. I politely thanked them and left. Now after I was off the cream cheese high, I decided to try Memos again a week later, to ensure it wasn't a fluke. My second visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Memo herself. She was very kind and knew her bagels. This time I had to go with the everything bagel. A real test. Most places can make the everything too salty. There is an art to the everything bagel. It needs to taste like everything and nothing all at once. I ordered the everything bagel and it was phenomenal. I've been back several times and it's consistently good. Thank you for the best bagels Memo! You guys are amazing!!! read more

Ordered two bagels with cream cheese and didn't know we needed to ask for them to get toasted. We got lukewarm bagels not toasted which didn't make them taste that good. Was tempted to go back in and ask them to remake. We were asked if we wanted plain cream cheese but never asked if they needed to be toasted. OJ was delicious at least. Not sure if I'll be back. Disappointed I've gone to so many bagel shops and never had to ask them to toast the bagel they just did it. read more

Best San Diego bagels. Beats that mom and pop bagel shop in O.B. The bagels here are baked fresh and have an excellent taste and texture. Wrap unused bagels in film rap and should be good for 3 days max. Service a bit aloof but none the less will always return read more

I placed an order for delivery and my whole order was wrong! I kid you not. All 3 bagels were not only wrong but 2 of them had hardly cooked bacon and ALL the tomatoes in ALL sandwiches were the ends. Ask me how this can happen I have NO IDEA!!!! I was so excited for this until we received it and started eating. We were VERY Unsatisfied. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Memos yet! They are amazing! The women who staff the front are SO friendly and always welcoming and helpful. I always get bagels from here, their coffee is always reliable, and they have a great assortment of other stuff, including muffins, baklava, and drinks. I work at Cuyamaca College and we have gotten large orders of bagels for events and they are always so professional and helpful, providing so much for our students. It's such a great little gem in Rancho. Check them out! read more

Add a topping of fresh covid to your bagel. I've come to this store at times when I'm in the mood for a bagel and I have to take my pets to the veterinarian clinic next door. Today I was parked directly in front of the door as I was waiting for the vet to see my cat. I was hungry and thinking of grabbing something from Memo's until I saw... ...at least one of the workers was walking around with her mask pulled all the way down to her chin. ...they allow customers to come in, stand at the counter to order, and then wait for their orders inside--all WITHOUT any masks at all. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS, PEOPLE. Yeah. I'll go somewhere else from now on. read more

This has become my favorite Saturday morning stop. I haven't had anything bad. Everything is fresh and the cream cheese is so good. I love a za'atar bagel or Muenster bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese, or a sundried tomato bagel with veggie cream cheese. Outdoor dining only, and definitely go before 11 for the best bagel choices. read more

Fresh bagels are hard to come by in Southern California and Memos is a great place to go for one. Just keep in mind that the restaurant is TIGHT and it's not a place you'll be able to sit down with your family but definitely a place for a coffee date. The food itself is good but nothing wowing. I'm happy to have a bagel shop around for when I'm craving a lazy breakfast but I have to be feeling REALLY lazy. read more

I discovered this awesome place about 2-3 weeks ago and I've already been back 4 times! I've gone in the morning, late morning, and afternoon. Each time the bagels taste great! I love the works breakfast sandwich, it's packed with delicious ingredients and is made very quickly to order! The tuna melt is FANTASTIC DELICIOUS, WORTH IT! (If you like tuna) Customer service is what keeps us coming back. Greeted or acknowledged from the moment you walk in and your order is taken while they are behind the counter before they even come to the register. This is our new bagel place and we plan to spend most of our too lazy to cook moments here. Enjoy! read more

Geewhiz, I was looking for a bagel spot. And looked at the menu prices and they are expensive. Not even Eienstein bagels are this Pricey. :( They must be a good size bagel with these prices. Maybe if the prices drop I'll check them out oneday. I do love supporting local businesses. read more

Workers were cordial and amiable, environment is calm and smells great for constructive criticism bagels need some work, could have been just an off day but there was no cream cheese on the bagel and too much deli meat. Would try again (as a second chance) but not for a while... was a bit overpriced, but then again it is a small business. Price doesn't match the quality just yet though. read more

10 out of 10 best bagels in town can't go wrong memo was very polite. I got the chicken club it was so good I couldn't even take a picture of it looked away for one second and it was gone. But trust me this is the best breakfast bagels you will ever have.. 10 out of 10 must try again. read more

Finally, after many years, I found a bagel spot that has great unique options. Unique flavors on the spreads and are not shy with the amount! The girls are always so sweet and nice! Super fresh bagels. The coffee and drink options are endless!. You guys have to try this place!! read more

Have been going here since it opened many years ago and can't believe I've never reviewed it. Amazing spot with delicious bagels and an even better staff. The hummus melt is one of the best and most unique bagel melts I've ever had. The staff makes you feel like family and gives great recommendations. They make their own creme cheeses, pastries, and other snacks as well! read more

I just moved to the area and we decided to give this place a go. My boyfriend is from NJ and is a HUGE bagel/pizza snob so per usual, he had low expectations but ended up pleasantly surprised. He said they were the best bagels that he's had out here in CA so far and I agree. They were a good size, fluffy, and had good flavor. It was pretty sold out so there wasn't much of a selection when by the time we got there (around 12:30 pm) but we expected that too. It was also still pretty busy so it took a minute to get our good but keep in mind the place is small and there aren't a ton of workers. The employees were all super nice and friendly though so overall we enjoyed our experience/food. We will definitely be back. read more

I love how they have all kinds of cream cheese! The very first bagel I had there is strawberry cream cheese on everything bagel. It was super yummy! I am so happy I left home with kids and family this morning. I didn't know why but God told me to. So I hopped in the car and off I go. When I ate the bagel I knew he wanted to make me happy with the newly discovered strawberry cream cheese everything bagel. God is good! All the time read more

I finally stopped by this bagel cafe after driving past it so many times. It's only open from 7am to 4pm, so you have to catch it during the day. I had the Club Lunch on a garlic bagel, and it was super tasty with plenty of toppings. They've got a big selection of bagels, cream cheeses (also sold in tubs), fresh juices, and grab-and-go sides and sweets. There was a steady stream of people coming in and a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. As a heads-up, ordering in person is cheaper than going through their website. I went in & got a Srirachia Habinero bagel with Jalapeño Cream Cheese which was amazing & I love how they always add pickles on the side. Everytime I go in to get something to go, they give me utensils & napkins. The girls there are so sweet and they work so hard, I never have to wait long for whatever I order. I loved the food, the turkey lunch bagel is full of everything every time I go in. I'm always given napkins and utensils on the side when I order to go which I love because many businesses do not include those things. The pickles on the side are always so juicy and delicious & I always get a strawberry banana juice on the side. Their 3 for $15.00 juices are such a great deal! So I went to Memos today and I was very disappointed. There was two people ahead of me and it took forever. There was a line behind me as well. They decided to use this time to teach something that could have definitely been taught when there wasn't a back up. The customer service definitely was very much lacking. The food was good. Since leaving my review over a month ago I have yet to have a problem with my order! It appears that Memo's now uses an employee who speaks english more fluently, to answer the phones. And they take more care to make sure you are getting just what you asked for. Officially the best bagel place in town. Don't even think about going to Einstein Bros. Memo's is the best. read more
