I can confidently say this is my all time favorite bagel shop. I've been coming here since I was young, and it's still just as amazing every single time. The bagels are always fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best you'll ever have. Rasha, the manager, is always there working so hard and keeping everything running smoothly. Ssshs!Don't tell anyone this is the best bagel place in San Diego County! When I'm craving authentic New York Jewish style bagels I go to Memo's. They have a huge selection of bagels and cheeses. Where else would you find zatar, syracha, Muenster cheese bagels? Today they had cute rainbow bagels to celebrate pride and delicious chocolate ones. The bagels are large and soft in the inside. You can actually see the owner boiling the bagels. In addition they make the best breakfast sandwiches. Last year they expanded the store so now there are several tables inside where the air conditioning is a welcome treat in the east county. Two weeks ago they added an authentic Jewish deli featuring Dietz and Watson meats. The footlong sandwiches accompanied by their fresh squeeze juices like pomegranate and beets will surely satisfy hungry appetites. They also make fresh smoothies which we had the chance to sample the mango-orange, mixed fruits and berries ones. They were all refreshing without being too sweet. After the gym, I was looking a place to a quick breakfast. Much to my surprise I found this right next to my gym. They have fresh made bagels and fresh pressed juice available. I'm sure there's more other things on the menu just sandwiches, salads, and more. However, this caught my eye for something quick and fresh. I also really love their different cream cheeses. I can't wait to come back again. Don't forget that they have a special; one juice for $6.50, or three for $15 My recommendation is getting a green juice, and a fresh bagel with cream cheese. Stellar bagels!! Excellent cream cheeses!!! The selection & flavors available are overwhelming. I opted for a jalapeño cheddar w garlic cream cheese & the habanero sriracha cream cheese. Both were amazing, the garlic cream cheese was very strong & potent, which if you love garlic, this is your jam. The jalapeño was simply yummy & reliable. Spacious & simple cafe w some seating, lots of drink selections & fresh made juices, and staff are super nice & quick. The sandwich I just took a bite out of at home has at most one meager slice of thin cucumber that may well have been a pickle, and no sprouts whatsoever. Stopped in on this recently expanded bagel shop and was quite impressed. Although I have been coming here for years, the open area associated with the remodel is a welcomed space. The owner behind the counter is a staple on site and can tell she runs a nice business. Her employees are well trained, friendly and efficient. I ordered a garlic bagel, toasted, with a Schmeer of lox cream cheese and a coffee. The cost was $9.99 which I thought was very reasonable. The coffee station is a serve yourself and have options for a few different flavors. Choices of creamer available to dress your coffee as you like. I would prefer a carafe of cream or half and half vs the coffee mate sweetened creamers or the individually small creamers. I also felt the lox cream cheese lacked in flavor, it there was salmon in the spread I certainly couldn't taste it. They have a pretty expansive lunch menu offering wraps, sandwiches, and platters for catering. I'll have to give their sandwiches a try soon. As I said the new space is nice, airy, natural lighting, and open. I'm not sure ifs public restroom is in the plans as there was a door with a "do not enter" sign on it that I hope to be a restroom some day soon. Came in today (10/24/25) around 9:00am. The line had about 5 people ahead of me. There were two ladies behind the counter. One taking orders and one making orders. After about 5-7 minutes, I finally made it to the front to place my order. I ordered an everything bagel with egg/ham/ and cheese for $12dollars plus tax. I also ordered a large coffee which brought my total to $17.09. Well, shame on me for not looking ahead of time but their self serve coffee only had hazelnut flavored coffee, vanilla flavored, or dark roast. No house blend or medium roast. About fifteen minutes later my bagel was done and I left with my bagel sandwich and coffee. I walked over to the living room coffee shop because I was meeting a friend who forewarned me I'd be disappointed with Memo's. I should have listened. Excited to try my bagel, the disappointment just continued to come. I opened the sandwich to see they put Turkey on my bagel and not ham. It gets worse.....I took a bite and zero "crunch" or "snap" on the exterior the bagel. Just a soggy, sloppy mess through and through the bagel. Mediocre coffee, laughable amounts of the wrong protein on my sandwich, sorry excuse for a bagel. They've been in business long enough that my review won't matter. But, I'll never go back. For that kind of money, I'd rather pay a little more and go to Broken Yolk. read more

It is very casual eating and, even though it is in the middle of a busy strip mall, tends to be a chill spot. I've come here more times than I can count for the bagel and lox. It is an ample service and always fresh. They have a huge menu for being such a small cafe. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches seem to be very popular. You can get a bagel with eggs, ham, turkey, bacon, sausage, tomato, spinach avocado and different types of cheeses, depending on the type. They also have deli meat sandwiches (also very popular) along with Greek, couscous, pasta, Caesar and other salads as well as Mediterranean pastries and Turkish delights.  They have lots of different bagel flavors. My favorite is the everything, and they also have blueberry, poppy, sesame, onion, garlic, Asiago, egg and other interesting flavors like cinnamon, raisin, apple and banana nut. But come earlier than about noon, because they get busy and seem to sell out on certain items fast. read more

I had a really disappointing experience with Memo's customer service. I waited in line for quite a while, and the young girl at the counter didn't even acknowledge me or ask what I wanted until I had to speak up myself and ask if I could place an order. When I asked her about the difference between the regular bagels and the other types, she gave very short, rude answers with no eye contact. It honestly felt like she didn't want to be there or help at all. Unfortunately, it wasn't just her. My husband had a similar experience with another employee, who had the same unfriendly and dismissive attitude. Customer service really makes a difference, and this place completely missed the mark. 3.5 - I have been coming here for years and I feel that this place is hit or miss sometimes. Some things on the menu are great, like the bagels, but the sandwiches are just okay. Today I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich which came with burnt bread and did not contain mozzarella. When I asked the workers they said they don't even have mozzarella cheese, they just throw a "white" cheese and melt it with the chicken. And to which the lady replied very rudely "WERE NOT OPEN". Asked when they do open and she replied 7 (again with an attitude), mind you at this point it's 5 till. Had she said "good morning! I'm so sorry we actually open in 5 minutes then I can take your order" that would have been totally fine! No issues at all! The fact that the doors were open prior to the actual open time and then the worker makes it seem like it's an inconvenience is why we won't be back. I just had my appendix out and a friend brought me some of the bagels from Memo's. They are the BEST bagels I've ever had on the west coast. The texture is perfect and the flavor is great. Yikes! The older woman who seems to be a manager, that works the counter is abrasive with her employees, it's tough to witness. She also handles cash + items around the register, does NOT change her gloves then goes into the back and sticks her hands in buckets of sesame and other items to complete baking the bagels. She also doesn't change her gloves when handling making the bagel orders. She has rude energy and is not clean. That's a big no for me after this experience. Focaccia Was in the area and wanted to try something new. This place was a whole in the wall business, which gave me high hopes (hole in the walls are usually gold). This place did not disappoint.
