We had a great evening here the weekend of February 21, 2026. The venue is a little smaller so we arrived earlier in the evening. Plenty of good menu choices so we ordered up what we would consider the usual items for two couples: 4 rolls, a bento box, some appetizers and a few additional items like sashimi to share. Wow. None of us had ever seen such generous portioning before. The rolls were closer to $20/each but they were massive -- as big as my wife's forearm. The bento box was easily 3 times bigger than any other one I had seen before for the same money. The sashimi order was enormous, as I was expecting three or four pieces of fish par usual, but instead was easily like 10-12 large meaty and fresh pieces. We just stuffed ourselves and each couple took home enough food for another meal. The quality was extremely good and again the fish portions were so generous it was just a pleasure to eat -- the owners came around with some additional massive rolls they said were just complimentary as a thank you. So impressive. Unquestionably we will be back again, I can't recommend this place enough. Four hungry people, huge amount of food, plus sake and beers all around all night $230. Cute and warm local spot, just not quite my preference. Sushi rice was a bit too soft and on the wetter side, which made some of the rolls fall apart a bit. That said, I really appreciate the generosity--portions were solid and the freebies were a nice touch. I just wish the protein-to-rice ratio was a bit higher so the fillings and main ingredients came through more clearly. We usually go to Sandfish or Otori, but Otori was closed on Sunday and Monday, so we were looking for something more casual and gave this place a try. Overall, it feels like comfort-style sushi--very easygoing and unfussy. For people who aren't too particular about texture or precision, it'll probably work well. It leans more toward a soft, blended "county fair / festival food" style. If you enjoy trying more experimental or soft-fusion-style sushi, it's worth checking out if you're hungry and in the area. read more

Memos sushi is good place to have some tasty treats. It is sushi with a Mexican fusion and they have some delicious dishes. I have always enjoyed having dinner here , including last night. The service is great and the food is tasty. I ordered one of my favorite appetizers the baked green mussels and they were very tasty, 6 to an order , so plenty for me. I also enjoyed the golden Joe roll with shrimp tempura and crab meat inside , topped with tuna and salmon. All was delicious read more

I will start by saying that I have not been to Memo's for quite a long time. When things started reopening, I hadn't gone back, despite really liking the food. (Plus, my dinner companion isn't a fan of Asian food, so I tend to go to Asian places, when he ain't around!) Early Monday evening, I stop by for dinner. There was two ladies seated by the patio door and two ladies seated by the front door. I sat next to one of the pairs of ladies. I was brought a menu pretty quickly. It is slender and taller than before. (A little hard to read some of the words, due to everything being shrunk down.) I opted for my usual salmon teriyaki bento box with tempura and CA roll. I asked for an iced tea. Perhaps I should have looked at the menu before doing that. I remember Memo's having these huge blue plastic cups. One glass was usually enough for me. Now, they have regular sized cups, which is fine. When I got the bill, however, I saw that the one glass of tea I got was $6.99. That is more than movie theaters charge for a huge cup. Had I known, again, my fault for not looking at the menu closely, I would have asked for a refill, at least. Tea is the cheapest thing that a restaurant can sell for beverages, so to have a markup that high is that much more painful. The server wasn't attentive. It took her several minutes to take my order. She never checked back on me. A nice older lady brought me my miso soup, which was delicious. Another young lady cleared my dishes. It wasn't until she brought the check that I saw her again. When there are that few tables and at least one other person working up front with you, that ain't good customer service. My dinner was excellent. Even though the food price went up, slightly, I still feel it was a value for what I received. The tempura was absolutely perfect. The salmon was maybe a few seconds overcooked, but I enjoyed the teriyaki sauce. CA roll was fresh tasting, though the wasabi paste didn't have much of a bite. I enjoyed the pickled ginger. The owner did send over a free bowl of edamame, which I appreciated. Will I return, yes. Will I order iced tea again? Heck no. I will stick with water. read more

Based on experience alone. Didn't get a chance to try the food. I Called to order. I pronounced a roll as Antiza because that's how it's spelled on the website. The guy kept saying "huh?" And asking "Anita" or "Anitza?" I just told him how it's spelled online. He couldn't understand me. It was a bit frustrating. He took my order and asked if I was paying in store or over the phone. I said I would pay at the store. All of a sudden, without warning or him letting me know, another lady answered the phone and asked me for my card number. I told her what I told the guy and she said they have to take payments before. I asked her how much it was. For 3 rolls and a miso was almost $100. I asked for each price and she changed it twice. There are no prices online. But when she told me the prices I added it up and it would've only been about $85. She said it was $95 before taxes. Made no sense so I asked her the taxes and she said it was 8.95%. What.? I had to keep repeating myself and my card number. Which she was yelling out loud and I had no idea who was around her. So I felt uncomfortable giving her my card number. So I asked if I could just pay when I got there because she couldn't hear me. And she said no. She asked if I had ever ordered from here before. I let her know that I have never. Then she said that she would have to wait to out the order in after I paid. The point was for it to be ready by the time I got there because she said it would take 20 min. I just asked to cancel the order. I had a bad feeling that if I had to go through this much trouble to order, then they'd mess up my order or something also. Terrible customer service. read more

100/10! I would absolutely recommend and come here again! Some of the best sushi/Japanese items I've had. Everything was so fresh, hot, and came out quickly. The staff was very nice and welcoming. There is plenty of parking in the lot and near by areas. There is not a ton of seating but they have enough! We started with stuff fried stuffed peppers (nice and crunchy!)! I got a Thai tea and the serving was HUGE and it was very good! Things we got: Shrimp yakisoba: big portion, plenty of shrimp, came out piping hot 10/10 Horacio roll: probably the best roll I've ever had, the sauce they put on the plate is fire. Some items we requested, we were told "they don't have time to make" even after we said we would wait. It was way before closing time. Do not waste your time or money. For three people they tried to price gauge us at over $125. Gave us the eye when we asked for an itemized bill to see why it was so expensive. Gas station sushi tasted better. There is a general problem with the whole establishment, from the front of the house through to the food, which smacks of unprofessionalism. The food is clumsy and lacks the finesse of true Japanese cuisine, the food is loaded with rice and bombarded with teriyaki sauce almost across the board. There is a 4% service charge for the processing of credit cards which is not posted anywhere at the entrance, you only discover it when its time to pay which is just deceptive. The bill is written on a piece of paper which is was not clear, and upon checking the bill there were several mistakes. I had to ask the manager to fix them twice and even then they couldn't calculate the tax properly. There is plenty of excellent Sushi in the desert, don't choose this place. read more
