Joyce's served superior sushi, without a doubt. But I took a star off for price, which is insane. When you see billboards along the highway you realize how they're paying for those! And another star for shoving Christian religion down diners' throats. I resent anyone pushing any religion in a restaurant, but especially surprised to see scripture verses on a Japanese menu. It's a turnoff for me.

It's been about a year and a half since I've been to this restaurant and it used to be my favorite when I was in the area. I was very excited to be in the area and to try it again but I was pretty disappointed with the visit and with all of the changes. It was 8 pm on a friday night so the restaurant was understandably busy so I was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away unfortunately the table was not wiped down. The server did take care of it as soon as she noticed. The service was fast and friendly. The disappointing part was the food and prices. Understandable that prices has gone up just like everywhere else, but it was sad to see that they got smaller. The food still tasted great but it was hard to justify with the increased cost and smaller portions.

The sushi was okay, I would rate it about a 7 out of 10. We ordered two rolls, the shrimp tempura and the Philadelphia roll. Personally, I felt the rolls were a bit small for the price compared to other sushi spots. The waiter was very sweet, but they definitely need more staff. The place was not very packed, yet the waiter seemed overwhelmed and occasionally forgot which tables the rolls were going to. Our personal favorite was the shrimp tempura roll.

4.5 or 9/10 I thought I was going to be hater but I ain't , lowkey mad fr, but everything here delicious af. The portions of the fish are very generous and the freshness of each bite was quite surprising. The prices here are slightly higher than what I'm used to, San Diego, but are you truly surprised when we're at a desert. Glad I was able to try this out on my first night in the desert and would come back again.

We stopped by here for a quick bite while in the neighborhood. I always have the same thing and today I decided to try something different. I got the miso ramen with pork, belly and vegetables. It was unbelievable. I couldn't imagine all those flavors coming together so perfectly. I'm so glad I took a chance on something different. The serving is so large that it's going to last another 2 days. For $21, I feel like I got such a great value. Highly recommended whether you like sushi, tempura, teriyaki, or ramen.

Was in the area for a couple of weeks visiting & this place was so good, I came here twice! The restaurant inside is very pretty & welcoming. The staff was very friendly & constantly came to check on us. The sushi was amazing. We shared 3 different rolls & each one was perfect. The fish was so fresh. One of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. My favorite roll was the firecracker! A must visit if in the Palm Springs area

I was expecting a bit more with the high yelp ratings. However, the food was just okay. I felt their lunch set prices were slightly high for what we received. The portion was decent and serving staff were friendly. The best dish was the tempura. It's in a strip mall about an 8 min drive from downtown Palm Springs.

We had a great lunch at Joyce's and some items that we would recommend is the seaweed salad, garlic albacore roll, lion king, and garlic salmon. The service was very attentive and we would definitely come back next time we are in town!

food 10/10 -salmon belly & garlic salmon nigiri was so delicious! -all the rolls we ordered were yummy & fresh tasting service 10/10 -waiter was so nice & we got sat down right away! ambiance 10/10 -low lighting was nice -music is very chill -calm ambiance

    Michelle E.

I feel like Yelp lied with this rating. As soon as we sat down, I felt like I had entered a Quentin Tarantino movie. At the strip mall is it open. We do get seated quickly . The vibe was off quickly . Between the huge sign that you can buy $1000 gift card and get a luxury gift bag. Our order was taken quickly. However, not lot of prices were listed. Needless to say we got two rolls didn't enjoy it and one Coke. The food was not great and the staff never came to talk to us again. It was not good. Also the religious music playing and the Jesus coloring pages in the menu didn't help.

What's up with the super-repetitive drunken saxophone music?? We cannot unhear it - it KEEPS LOOPING! The sushi is fresh and delicious.

This place was decent. Stopped by here during Coachella weekend and got seated right away. The overall ambiance is cool and dim, and the robot is cute. The food was 7.5/10. I enjoyed the sushi but the chicken teriyaki was like, shredded. Never seen it in that form before. Tasted good though. I wasn't a fan of the salad dressing. Service was okay. We got checked up on a decent amount of times but it took forever for us to check out. Not sure if I'd come back here.

Sushi was fresh! Everything was good. Restaurant was nice and clean. Service was always around and fast. Would be back!

It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it. Even with the mister and some of the shade, it was still pretty hot out so we opted for the patio section by the restaurant. We've never seen this menu so it was new to us. Honestly wanted their brunch menu but it was too late. The waitress working was basically doing everything as she was the only one on deck. Hostess, waitress and bartender. It did start to pick up while we were there. Drink wise, one of their Bloody Mary which comes with a slice of bacon and their lemon drop. Both very tasty. Food, an order of the ahi tuna salad. Seared tuna on top of mixed greens with crunchy onion, tomatoes, avocados and a really delicious ginger dressing. Quite tasty. The beet salad with added chicken. The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back.
