    Chicken wings

I got the chicken & dressing and honey gold wings. Chicken and dressing: chicken was super dry, definitely need cranberry sauce or gravy to enjoy this meal. The cornbread dressing is the most nicely seasoned I've ever had. Not dry either. I wanted Mac and cheese but they were sold out at 1pm which I though was a little off for a soul place, there should be enough Mac and cheese for the whole day. They were also out of mashed potatoes. So instead, I got mixed greens and corn. Mixed greens were tender and seasoned. Corn was just corn. Honey gold wings: they are HUGE!!! I didn't realize I was getting full size wings when I ordered. I love their honey gold sauce. They give you extra too so you can really dip your chicken in it after you eat the skin. It wasn't the crispiest chicken but I enjoyed it nonetheless. May come back another day, maybe earlier so I can actually get some sides.

Wow! I am so glad that I came here for dinner. It came highly recommended by the front desk of my hotel as well as many Yelp reviews. Everything was absolutely delicious and everyone was so friendly. I enjoy the blackened salom with some sides. There are so many other options, I definitely will be back to try more. Be sure to get a piece of sweet potato pie cornbread!

This chicken spot was pretty good. It was right next to the civil rights museum. The restaurant was clean but the wait for food was super long and we were the only people in the restaurant. The food came out extremely fresh and hot. I ordered two thighs, greens, yams, and Mac and cheese. We also got banana pudding to split. I felt that the food was kind of expensive and that it could have been a little cheaper. Overall it was pretty good. The best part was the hot sauce by far. It was the best hot sauce I have ever had and I wish I knew where they got it from. It was a good fried chicken spot and I would recommend.

I miss it being 99cent Soul Food. Where I could go and get a veggie platter for $5-6! I saw all sides were now $3-5 each, so I opted in to get the Blackened Salmon for $14.99(NO SIDES INCLUDED) only a strip of salmon. Of course I added 2 sides to make a complete meal which my total came out to be $22.50(drink not included). They even charged for hot sauce lol. Yes, I enjoyed the meal, but no I doubt I'll make it my first choice when getting soul food in Memphis. Thanks for the plate though!

Loved this place. The food is amazing!!! We came in with a big group and they made sure we were taken care of and were organized. The guy pictured on the pic was so sweet and made sure if there were any problems, he fixed it. He went above and beyond to take care of us. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning because they ran out off dressing and I got to try it. Lol

Stumbled upon this place after visiting Lorraine hotel. So glad we did! The guys were very friendly, greeting us as soon as we walked in. I ordered the smothered chicken breast. It came out hot and fresh. The chicken breast was so large, it was big enough for 2 people to share. I ordered the greens and yams. Everything was flavored so well, it didn't lack anything. I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed by the toast of this food- I had to share! It's a must try while in Memphis!

I had dinner at Memphis Soul tonight and it was pure pleasure. The owner was personable and kind, the food was fresh, savory, and delicious! I've been in Memphis for a conference for a week and my dinner here was the best food and service I had! The restaurant is colorful and filled with charm. Go if you have the chance, you will enjoy it immensely.

In Memphis visiting and we stopped at Memphis Soul. We met the owner, who is the kindest, nicest guy! He really helped us with the menu and tailored a dish to my liking. We tried the sweet potato cornbread muffins, so good!! If we're ever in town again, we surely will be back! Keep up the great work hustler!

The food was good!!! The restaurant was neat, clean, has a really cute decor, and the staff was friendly. I gave the restaurant only 4 stars because after placing, paying, and waiting about 15 minutes for my order I was informed that they out of yams. I had already paid for my order, waited on it, but still did not get what I ordered. When I asked how much longer would I have to wait for yams I was told that I'd have to wait another 35 minutes for yams. Communication is key guys!!! I probably would have ordered something else had I known that they were out of yams.

AMAZING food, awesome staff. I had the smothered chicken, greens,, and fried okra. The chicken shredded with just a fork and the greens had zero bitterness. The okra was buttery delicious. My wife had the pork chops and the best fried green tomatoes We've had. AMAZING!!!!!

    Antonia T.

Friendly staff and great prices for great food. I had fried chicken breast which was amazing because it wasn't too fried, I usually avoid fried food because of it being too crunchy or greasy and this chicken was just right. They had a lot of sides to choose from, I had the macaroni and cheese which was good just a little watery. I also had cornbread muffins which were delicious. To top it off I had the peach cobbler a la mode ! The ice cream was homemade I think because it was just wonderful. Overall this restaurant is very clean, and customer friendly. The staff are very nice and attentive.

The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

The bar tender greeted us warmly, and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a cozy, comfy corner booth. Hubby loved his Sweet Tea, "just right". When we finished that, we poured the Asian dressing over the plentiful Arugula salad. We shared a Trio of tender, juicy Certified Angus sliders. Wow! Hubby said that's the best dang slider I ever ate! I agree! The shoestring fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. Love that you can get up to six sliders. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.

Walking in I was pleasantly surprised...Flight is in a tough location because parking isnt exactly ideal but as soon as you walk up, a hostess opens the door and welcomes you in. I didnt get photos of the restaurant but they have a really cool split floor design, we got to sit upstairs. I recommend you sit upstairs it possible because the first floor gets louder faster if that makes sense. Plenty of very attentive and friendly staff so you will need for nothing while you are there. Now for the food...we started off with the SNAKE RIVER FARMS WAGYU CARPACCIO. It was . My only critique if I had one; I wish it had a little more carpaccio. Now before I get into entree's let me explain how "Flight" works...You can order a single large entree for dinner, orrrrrrr, if you're like me and LOVE food, you can order a flight of three smaller portions of the entree's! Bring your appetite (and your platinum card). I ordered a three entree flight of Bison Ribeye, roasted duck breast and the chilean sea bass. I would rank them in that order although they were all delicious. That bison tho.... The wife ordered a three entree flight of the prime ribeye, sea scallops, and the twin lobster tails. She wasnt a huge fan of the prime ribeye, she said it was a little tough. She loved the scallops and lobster (although she will never forgive herself for dropping a huge piece of lobster on the floor). Oh and her scallops came with this gnocchi that was TO DIE FOR!!!! We finished the night off with a three dessert flight of pistachio mousse, lava cake and apple walnut cobbler. The pistachio mousse was light and refreshing on a hot summer day. She loved her apple cobbler. We werent huge fans of the lava cake. It just didnt have that nostalgic lava cake taste and texture. That and the peppermint gelato it came with was very strong on the peppermint. Im sure some would love it but it just wasnt for us. Last piece Ill mention is just the effort and attention to detail. It was our anniversary and they brought us complimentary glasses of champagne (thank you). They are very deliberate in how they move, their table settings and our server knew her restaurant like a pro. Even down to the way they stage your silverware knowing how their flight plates take up table space. Bravo, Great experience! Definitely a little too pricey to be a frequent spot, but great for special occasions!

After leaving a nearby bar, our group stopped in simply looking for food. The restaurant was virtually empty, yet the manager, Charles, insisted that if any of us sat near one another, we would be considered one large party and could only have one check. I explained that we had no problem sitting at separate tables, and each table would gladly have a single check. That should have solved the issue. Instead, Charles instructed an inexperienced and unprofessional server to scatter us throughout the restaurant and warned that if we interacted between tables, we would still be treated as one party. From a management standpoint, this decision made no sense. Rather than maximizing an opportunity to generate significant revenue, leadership chose to create unnecessary obstacles. Ironically, spreading us throughout the restaurant would have required opening multiple sections, increasing the workload on servers and support staff instead of simplifying operations. Leadership sets the tone for a business. Good managers solve problems and create positive guest experiences. They don't create barriers that send paying customers elsewhere. At the end of the day, every business has one primary objective: to generate revenue while providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated poor judgment, inflexible leadership, and a missed opportunity to earn the business of 24 guests who simply wanted a meal. I hope Curfew reevaluates this approach because customer service, common sense, and hospitality should always work together.

They had a burger of the day, and a food special of the day, but I settled on the wings. With those I chose the 10 pc, Buffalo with dry rub, smoked.
