It was very empty after we found what we were looking for we wanted to walk around for a bit not even 5 minutes after going to the story we were confronted by employees questioning why we were messing around in the store(which we were not) the following Tuesday when we were there again looking at cabinets an employee came and cursed use out for apparently "messing around" not even 10 minutes later another employee came over and said "we know who you guys are and all the messing around you guys have been doing" we were very confused and upset definitely will not be shopping at this Menards again very disappointed and will definitely be contacting a higher up at Menards read more

I bought the prefinished shiplap in. White. I had the product up less than six months and the finish started bubbling. It turns out that it's a plastic coating on the wood and it did not hold up to the moisture in the bathroom. Nowhere on the shelf or on any label, does it say not to use in the bathroom. I then contacted Menards, which then pushed me off to the manufacturer who has jacked me around now for many months asking me to keep sending more information just to get around paying me back for the product. My adult daughter and I went to Menards on Sunday to purchase some wood for a home project. We didn't find much help in the indoor wood department. The guy that helped us seemed like it was a bother for him to do his job. However, when we went out to the lumberyard, Spencer was very helpful. We about our project and he helped us pick out the exact wood that we needed. Spencer and Jay were awesome cutting the wood for us and showing great customer service. When I was leaving, I saw on my receipt that something was more than it was supposed to be. When I showed the cashier my receipt and asked if the price was correct, she wouldn't even look at the receipt. She just shrugged, and said yeah, it's right. When I looked into it I found that I was actually charged $12 too much on a product. I'm glad I didn't trust the cashier's shrug. Brian helped us resolve the over- charge. He was kind and helpful. He seemed to be one of the few workers who enjoyed his job. Stan, in the paint department, was also helpful. We were looking for paint and stain, and he explained the pros and cons of the ones that we were picking out. He directed us to the right products. If we hadn't dealt with Stan, Bryan, Jay, and Spencer, we would've given a lower rating for the store. It seemed like either people were helpful or they hated their job. This Menards location is amazing. Pretty much every time I have visited here recently (once every other week or so) I have received such great service. I am often offered help by workers to find things. And if I do ask for help finding something out with suggestions or questions about products, I receive such great help and kindness. I wish I knew the workers names who have really stood out but there have been so many who have been so kind and helpful. The cashiers are very kind too, and quick. This is my favorite Menards location in the area because of the great service! Can't get enough of it. read more

Unfortunately you can't trust what associates say at this location. I placed an order for a bundle of wood flooring - it used to be a stock item and now it's isn't stocked. I was charged $20 for a shipping fee and the flooring gentlemen told me once I picked up the flooring it would be refunded. I picked up today and Heather said nonit can't be refunded. As if it wasn't bad enough that the flooring prices have doubled in the last year now I have to pay for it to be shipped to the store. How inconvenient and unaffordable! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered a fridge in January- in July and still don't have it. No one from the store has ever bothered to call or update. I go in to finally cancel and can't cancel and get a refund because it is over 90 days I can only have a store credit. What the heck. I've been waiting for 7 months for the fridge to get delivered?!?!? The Asst manager who is the only person working on a weekend (not sure why one of the 3 general managers aren't working on a weekend when most people shop) is a 20 something year old kid who has NO customer service knowledge or training is apparently in charge and has the terrific response that I should have returned it and made the decision to cancel it before 90 days. Me and my wife (Lily she's so beautiful by the way) were on a road trip in my red 77' camero and it almost broke down! Luckily we stopped at this Menard's and they fixed her right up! If it weren't for Menard's we would be stuck in Chicago and trust me I made some enemies in Chicago back in 1985. Their mail-in-rebate program and deep discounts, friendly and helpful customer service are few of the reasons why I keep coming back to this location and to Menard's in general. This is a well-stocked and clean location with an abundance of parking. It's pretty easy to get to this location and so far, I have yet to experience a busy day here. I was there recently trying to buy a grill. But unlike Home Depot, they do not sell floor model, or assemble grills as part of their services. Needed to get seven out of ten cabinets replaced and three days off of work for delivery's. And these are Menards best cabinets! Clean and organized. They often have exactly what I need. Finding assistance at times can be difficult, especially if you use the yard. I'm not familiar with finding stuff outside and that can be a struggle finding stuff or staff. Love the %11 rebates :) read more

Went in to purchase a couple boards to complete a project. Inventory said "0" I went out to the yard and found about 10 pieces, all damaged. I took the 2 best I could find. I asked the clerk if I could get a discount for the damaged material. Remember, zero on inventory. She called over a so called manager. She denied my request for a discount, saying "with the 11% discount already, they don't discount further" I told her earlier in the week I purchased a display model grill that was damaged for an additional 10% discount. She then stated the boards were only (about) 2.50 anyway so no discount, and walked away. The .50 isn't going to kill me, but it's the principle of buying damaged goods at full price, and her attitude. I had to finish someone's project. If it was for me I would have walked. I used to do lots of business in this store. Lots this week alone. No longer. Hope it was worth it. Not everyone is management ready... Now I have to slam Yelp. The staff is top notch in this store. Every time I've been here, someone is always asking if they can help you find something. But then if you say you don't need help, they leave you alone. This was even the case during the madhouse on the day after Thanksgiving! You could tell they had all hands on deck that day too!! read more

My husband and I recently moved from Virginia beach so we are what you consider "lowes" people since there was no menards in our area. We are disappointed every time we come to menards because 9 times out of 10 the associates will only point you in the direction of the item you are looking for instead of taking you to the product like lowes does. I hate to compare but we keep having bad experiences. Not to mention they don't have military discount! Lowes is the way to go. read more

I bought a bunch of products and material from Mernards in march. Since March I should have received a rebate of $46 and change within 6-8 weeks and I'm going on 6 months. After reaching out to them through email I didn't receive any information back for two weeks after receiving information back they haven't replied to my email in another two weeks/still. In my opinion the lack of customer service or a personnel that you can talk to who can handle this verbally over the phone or in person is a disgrace. I feel Mernards is selling a phony promotion with 11% rebate it's a joke that you have to jump through so many hoops to still not get answers and not receive your rebate in a Timely manner. I feel like I got scammed. The other frustrating thing about it is there's no one you can talk to you have to either write letters or fax questions, concerns, or issues that you can't send by email. There's no customer relations department were I could talk to someone or express my concern everything is by mail which means I have to pay for another stamp to complain about an issue that is no fault of mine and even if I send it by mail do you think the will reimburse me..... I think not. When I called the store they said there's no one I could talk to you you could only reach out to the international rebate whatever company they hired to do there rebates andand they only take emails that they don't respond to so I feel very stuck. I bought s portable air conditioner on Friday,8/14/2015. The staff loaded it in my SUV but I got a big surprise when I tried get it in the house. I called customer service for help and Andrea in deliveries was able to get it here this afternoon. There was a charge but well worth it. Menard's is my store and I have purchased a refrigerator and washer/dryer from them plus paint, plumbing and electrical supplies. Love them....much better than HD. read more

Bought a refrigerator from the Antioch, Ill. Menards store in July. The delivery guys gouged my hardwood floors in the kitchen - plus they said they didn't know how to hook up the water line and refused to plug in the refrigerator to test whether or not it worked. When I called the store manager to let him know, he said it was the responsibility of the delivery company, not Menards. I called the delivery company, sent them a picture of the floor. Have not heard a word from them. Very odd that Menards does not stand behind its contractors -- not very customer oriented. I've learned my lesson about buying appliances at Menards -- it's a roll of the dice. Next time I'll go to Sears or Home Depot. read more

On April 23rd, my fiancé and I went to Menards in Antioch to rent a truck to pick up our new dining room table. Per our usual experience, we were not even greeted by employees and was able to get the truck. I personally think the employees at this location make it a goal to hide from any customers. We got the keys to the truck and went outside to the truck to find the windshield and bed of the truck filled with ice and snow. The windshield was a solid sheet of ice. My fiancé went inside to ask for a scraper or something to clean off the car and the employee (which we later were told was a manager) named Josh who looked at my fiancé and said "No, sorry." Frustrated, my fiancé and I spent 20 minutes cleaning off a truck that we are paying to rent by the minute. Upon our return to the store, I asked to speak to a manager where a young woman came out named Hope and Caimey. She was not friendly, I explained the situation and she stated "I could take 15 minutes off your bill." No apology. No sorry for the terrible service you received. No "have a good evening." Nothing. I love Menards but the Menards in Antioch is staffed with terrible employees who do not know anything about customer service, home repair or their head from their ass. It is very unfortunate that this location will leave a bad taste in the mouth of many customers. read more

I bought a defective dishwasher from Menards and had a tech come out to repair it. The part was backordered with no delivery date. Menards took the dishwasher back even though it was a little past their normal cutoff date, and credited what I paid towards a new better one. They have a great staff there and excellent customer service. Highly recommended. read more
