Sullivan's makes getting my garden started so easy! They have a beautiful garden center and everything is so nicely organized. They have a broad selection of flowers, vegetables and fruit which was perfect for what I am creating. I spent about $20 and went home with 10 seedlings so the value is impeccable!

An interesting Saturday afternoon date.... we went to Sullivan's Hardware. We love going there to look at what is in season in the garden center. We'll get some flowers usually. This time, we went window shopping, bought some plants and had a nice lunch. Yep, they have a restaurant in this hardware store. And, it's a darn good one. It is located back by the grills. You may be thinking, "I don't want to eat while people are shopping for whatever hardware they need!" But, once you step in, you are transported away to a fun environment with great service and a menu that is a good value and not too hard on the wallet. Plus, bonus!, it tastes really good too! And by the way - come at Christmas, ride a train or just check out the great decor too!

Usually come here during the holiday season with friends to shop, and it's always a fun time! The concept of having wine and browsing is great! I love that this is your standard hardware store, but they have so much more! I got cats cradle, because nostalgia, and some other fun trinkets! 2026 goal check out the restaurant inside, and see what other fun items are available during the non Christmas season!

The Christmas train is just so cute! It was our first time doing it and our toddler absolutely loved it. Tips: dress warm, book a weekday/midday train if you want to be able to find parking in the parking lot (it got packed 5pm-on), and snag a holiday drink beforehand at the restaurant! They have a themed drink and dessert menu!

Nice selection of children's gifts from luxury to affordable.

As a family trying to avoid buying everything off Amazon, Sullivan's fills the gap for home repair, gardening items, Christmas decor and even secret Santa and white elephant gifts. This hardware and garden store is so much more than meets the eye. There's even a nice cozy little restaurant inside! The Sullivan's Express train ride during the holiday season is a do not miss event if you have young children. The Santa they hire is top notch. Customer service is excellent too.

Sullivan's had a night in the garden. You bought tickets before hand and several restaurants were present. Drinks not included. It was hot as heck but the sweat only slightly slowed the evening. The garden was back behind the nursery and was beautiful. Tables were set up and umbrellas were present There was a great band that played easy rock. A little on the loud side but definitely good. Just as a thought , you could have a wedding in this facility it is that nice Food was all you could eat and there was plenty. Dirty dishes and trash were cleared as soon as you were done. Rain came for a while. They brought out more umbrellas but not necessary as everyone was enjoying themselves We ate plenty and enjoyed wine or margarita smoothies. The pictures I hope give you more of an idea of the evening Would we go again, you betcha

This place is amazing. If you're a gardener or lover of plants, you can spend a lot of time (and money!) here. The plants are gorgeous and healthy; the planters and arrangements are inspiring if you're the diy sort. Sullivans also has a cafe/restaurant which I've not tried but the menu seemed tempting. They also have a ton of yard art, decorations, locally made products, and unique gifts. This place is worth a visit even if you don't buy anything.

I've been meaning to stop by Sullivan Hardware & Garden during the holidays for years. This year, I made a bucket list of holiday activities to do with our 15 mo. old kiddo and Sullivan was on the list. I had heard about the ever-so-popular train ride and tree installations. We wanted to beat the train rush and just see all of the holiday trees this round. We were amazed by the variety of items this store sells. It's a great spot for holiday gift shopping (in addition to all of the decor and Christmas trees). It was fun to see our son take in all of the sights and sounds. We ended up leaving with some holiday gifts. You can find everything from bird seed and recipe books to ornaments and tropical plants. It's quite the variety. Not to mention that they have a restaurant and bar on site to round out the experience. Can't wait to visit next year and try out the train ride.

Three different trains run on this indoor display.

Sullivan Hardware, where you can find neighborhood friendly service and traditional parts, with all the fancy amenities a BMW- driving yuppie needs. This place has family history but seems to have evolved with the times for its gentrified location and clientele. Lots of fun displays for more than just hardware. High end decor, socks, puzzles, coolers, food, grills, etc... Expensive holiday trees, high end grills, or a smoked panini for lunch, this unusual hardware store has it all. I didn't buy anything but it was a fun hour of browsing.

I think Fusek's True Value is the only other hardware store in the downtown area, so for those who reside near here (especially those who own homes with lawns downtown), there is now another option. It is located across the parking lot from the new Bodhi Cocktail Bar & Thai Bistro in the site formerly home to Indy Reads (which moved to Fountain Square.) Before you read any further, know that because I don't live downtown, I didn't engage in any transactions while here, so I hope others will soon add more detailed shopping information than I can. The shop is especially prepared for home owners in the area. Lots of items for outdoor work as well a the standard aisles of small items do it yourselfers need and can't find elsewhere. Note that when we visited, a "house" dog was lounging near the counter. So, I would advise not bringing your pets with you to shop since I don't know how they might interact. The dog did not move during our entire visit. Seemed well mannered. One of the benefits of shopping here is that they are open 24 hours a day. My wife asked and yes, they do get shoppers throughout the night! I am glad I'm too old for those all night projects now, but realize that when you get started on something, you sometimes just want to get it done and having a place to get the supplies you need is a huge benefit! The one negative that keeps this from an even higher rating is that the parking is very limited and if you wanted to bring a big truck for hauling larger or multiple purchases, you may have some difficulty in the small parking/loading area compared to most hardware stores I have frequented. But, the store did have a lot of needs covered. I think they are supposed to be a paint supply specialty shop as well. But I didn't realize that until I got home and read some info on their website. If you are downtown for some excellent food, stop by and check Trust out. It might save you a trip to one of those big box stores later. Review #3905

He seemed agitated and cut me off mid-sentence and walked away from the register. He also said he would 'check with someone.' The cashier and I were both confused by this. She asked him to confirm whether or not he was talking to someone else about it while he was standing 10 feet away noticeably not busy. He scoffed and replied 'I'm not doing that today' while rolling his eyes. The cashier looked uncomfortable and apologized to me. The manager didn't care if I made a purchase or not. I'm not sure if he was in a bad mood before I came in, but he was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional in a situation that could have easily been treated with more grace. The other Sullivan locations nearby have been amazing with their customer service. I recommend shopping with any one of them instead.

Located in practically the perfect…read morespot on the corner of 62nd and Keystone with a Broad Ripple Avenue address, Hedlund's Hardware looks and feels like a blast from the past precisely because it really is a blast from the past. Established in 1935 by Claude and Mary Hedlund, Hedlund's was at first a General Store but now limits itself to a somewhat broad definition of hardware and a personality that practically defies explanation. I avoided Hedlund's for quite some time. I'm a wheelchair user and Hedlund's Hardware is one of those places that practically screams out "You're going to break me!" as I delicately wheel myself through the aisles (or the ones that are passable, a fact that will change from visit to visit). The truth is that some people will hate a place like Hedlund's. It's a chaotic, eclectic, and seemingly disorganized (It's actually fairly well organized) establishment in a world where we want big box convenience and 19-year-old Tommy pretending he knows everything there is to know about plumbing or house repairs. HINT: Tommy doesn't know. At Hedlund's, though, they do actually know stuff. Hedlund's is not a big box store. In fact, it's not even a particularly big store though it's much bigger than it appears from the outside. Hedlund's is not a Sullivan's Hardware, a nearby behemoth that is also local but is much bigger and more contemporary. Hedlund's is, at least in my view, a bit of a cultural icon. It remains in the Hedlund family and is locally owned. I have no idea if this is the original building, but it's definitely symbolic of the history of the area. As I noted, if you need true accessibility it's not likely to be found here. You can get in the doors (most days) as they're level to the ground. That said, Hedlund's packs stuff in here and aisle passage is hit-and-miss. However, folks are friendly, helpful, and actually knowledgeable here and it's worth it to at least visit the place even if you don't completely fall in love with it. It's a unique space, a unique hardware store, and sort of an outcast right between Lowe's and Sullivan's on Keystone yet it continues to be a beacon of sorts and I'm sure glad it's here.
