Worst customer service ever! First, I waited nearly a half hour to get a PVC pipe from the shelf, then when I asked to have it cut they told me they couldn't do it. It's a hardware store for crying out loud! However, before all of these hijinks, they kept giving me the runaround, going to different departments like lumber and the hardware department to see if I can borrow a tool to cut it and they said they don't do this so you really need to have a serious chat with your staff and maybe provide better customer service cause these guys don't know their head from a hole in the ground. On August 7th, I went to this store to return an item that had been delivered by InstantCard. The return representative made a mistake and refunded the payment to someone else's payment card instead of issuing me a store credit. She explained that refunding to store credit was not available, which I understood, and she kindly offered to get the store manager to help resolve the situation. However, the store manager never showed up. I waited for 25 minutes, during which the customer service representative went to follow up with the manager at least 3-4 times. I had already told them I was in a hurry to pick up my child, and because of the delay, I ended up being charged $15 for a late pick-up. In the end, I had to leave, leaving my name and phone number with the request that the store manager call me back to resolve the matter so I could get my money back. The store kept my return item, claimed they had processed a refund, but I received nothing. It has now been over 24 hours, and I have not received any call from the store manager. On August 7th, this store manager failed in their basic responsibility to address a customer's issue in a timely and professional manner. As of now, I am left without my item and without any refund. Went to Lowe's in Orland to purchase an exterior door. Pressed the "help" button and waited 7 minutes. Finally found a worker who overhead paged help for us and waited another 10 minutes. Found a worker who then called a manager that said the personnel in Millwork area just got here and would be with us shortly. That was at 11:20am. Went in to look at some lawn and garden items. I was greeted by Mike N and answered all my questions. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. After answering all my questions I decided to purchase what I was looking for. I walked to the service desk to pay for my items and met Easter. She was very polite and delightful to deal with. I bought this grill on the 20th of June. They said it would be delivered July 2nd. My only instructions were to not deliver a scratched or damaged grill. The grill came dented and scratched down to the bare metal. There were also scratches on the top. I contacted Lowe's New Lennox and the guy told me to refuse the grill and they would send me a new one. He told me that he'd call me back in 10 minutes with the new delivery date. The supervisor never bothered to call me back. Terrible customer service. I'm having a 4th of July party and now there is no grill. Thanks for ruining the holiday. Look elsewhere, customer service are liars and don't care. Their customer service is a joke! When you call they will pass you around and no one knows what is going on. The woman that I talked to said a replacement order was on the way....she was wrong. There never was a replacement ordered. I finally got a hold of the guy that told me that he would send a replacement, only to say he forgot. Now they want me to buy the same grill at a higher price and expect me to believe that they will adjust the price later. this review is not in regards to Orland parks customer service but Lowe's delivery process. yelp makes you choose a location We ordered a refrigerator from Lowe's in early June to be delivered on July 3rd. We were told that old fridge would be uninstalled and new one installed. On date of delivery guy said he was unable to remove fridge. My husband spoke with Kenny at delivery customer service who explained that the delivery man could uninstall fridge. This did not happen as the delivery guy just left with our refrigerator. My husband than calls Lowe's deliver back and spoke with a gentleman named Greg who was the most unprofessional and rude employee I have ever heard. We were then given a window of time from 7am to 7pm on the 4th of July!!! We were promised that the old fridge would be removed and new one put in place. Delivery people arrive today and were very helpful but said "this is just a drop off" I explained the situation and delivery man was willing to help but once he called dispatch Greg informed him that this was a four person job and we would need to uninstall the compressor. The same Greg we spoke to yesterday who fully understood what was needed for our delivery. We then spoke to Greg's assistant manager who explained that we would need to have our refrigerator delivered yet again on a different date. This is the most unprofessional and disjointed process. We were explicit to every representative that we spoke with from June until today about the type of refrigerator we needed uninstalled and were told that this could be handled by multiple Lowe's employees while multiple times over the course of nearly a month. While they have offered some compensation for yesterdays inconvenience we were told today they will not compensate any further. However we as the customer are stuck on a major holiday with no refrigerator being told that we now have to hire someone to help us uninstall a compressor to have our refrigerator that we have already paid for and waited for for over three weeks to be delivered. I have been from Lombard to Countryside to Lemont to Orland Park (Menards, H Depot, Floor & Decor and Lowe's) shopping for a bathroom vanity and the counter top with sink. Finally, I found a beautiful vanity set. Our sales manager, Mr Stokes, was super well informed and helpful! Plus very accommodating had we needed to delay the pick up of our purchases by a day. Mr Stokes' sincerity to help and answer questions, as well as his demeanor in an understanding and kind manner was great. He helped two other couples before helping me. He managed it well! I can see why the average of the ratings is just two stars. Went there today for some paint and stood around waiting for a paint guy to answer a few questions. Nobody home - and that means nobody home in the three aisles that have paint and paint supplies. After standing around 8 minutes or so I just put the can back on the shelf and left. Not very good customer service. I was there at 9am on a Tuesday - day after Labor Day to be exact. There just must be something with these big box stores. They generally have a nice selection of wares and quality products, but they must make all their money by savings in employee salaries. There are too few employees for the size of the store. There should always be someone in the paint department to answer questions ... after all this is really a do-it-yourself store. Home Depot isn't any better. I think management is the problem and they need to distribute what employees they do have in a more logical fashion. Oh well - I'll go to Ace and get the same quality at a higher price with much better service. read more

Terrible customer service. Have bought multiple items over the past month, more than $200 worth. Went yesterday and had to wait for over 10 minutes to verify a price at checkout. 2 items rang up $1.20 more than I thought they were and instead of just adjusting the price, I had to wait. Left without the items, they lost a customer because of the hassle and $2.40. Not sure if they are doing so well that they don't need the customers or in trouble so $2.40 makes that big of a difference in their bottom line. read more

Since moving to a new condo, I've bought a lot things at Lowes. Our fridge, stove, washing machine and dryer were all bought at Lowes. Our outdoor loveseat and AC filters were also ordered online and picked up at this Lowes. For the most part, everything I experienced is that of a big box store. Service is ok, decent prices and attentive staff. The 3 stars is mostly for management because I feel like they didn't hire enough people working in the appliances department and overworking the ones currently working there. Sometimes we were waiting for 30 minutes for an associate to work with us because that one associate is already handling another customer. We've been lucky a couple of times where we beat the rush but while the associate was closing a sale on us, 3-4 other people were waiting behind us. read more

We ordered a dishwasher on 10/24/23. Took a week to get in store, then another week for install. Unit was defective. The install put in a replacement order that day. We've had 2 appointments canceled in the last week because the store wouldn't release the replacement dishwasher. It's now been a month, and now they're telling me they can't install until December. Unless you don't value your time, go someplace else. Heres my latest experience: I order a 4x8 plywood for store pickup, get an email that its ready, come to the store to find the customer service / pickup desk didn't have it ready, more waiting for them to find it, the plywood is dents and warped up and they can't cut it in the store for me, so I need to cancel the order and get a refund, but their POS register software must be so outdated that I'm still waiting 30 mins later to get this return processed! This was the worst customer service ever. I paid for new free standing dishwasher with haul away of the old appliance. Since I previously bought a stove from Lowe's, I did not anticipate a problem. The third party representatives delivered the appliance as promised, but absolutely refused to remove it from the box or take the old appliance away. They said that the store handled that and I needed to make an appointment for the haul away and setting up the appliance. I complained to customer service, but they only made me an appointment for the haul away. I filed a complaint and broke into the box myself. Since this is a free standing unit, it only required putting the wheels on it's feet. My son and I could also manage that job in a few minutes. There were instructions on the box quite clearly. Why can't the people delivering the unit be informed as to how to deliver it properly? Two days later a helpful person came to haul away the old appliance and the box. It took five minutes at most. Have bought, many appliances, and items at this store. Last week saw a toilet on sale, so I decided to exchange an old one, that I actually hate. Toilet $ 179.00. Installation, by their plumbers $ 350.00 +. So I asked why so expensive, so the salesman explained, the plumber gives a price and then Lowe's put a surcharge for the services. That sure sound like armed robbery, I told him, So thanks but no thanks Lowe's. I then looked in the internet and found A fantastic handy man, I found MAT $ 55.00. It might be less, depending on the time it takes him. But he calculated an hour or less. He does charge strictly for his time, not for goofing around. THIS SHOULD BE A LESSON TO EVERYONE, look first and check. Stores such as Lowe's, home depot. Menards etc. charge exorbitant amounts, for jobs that are not difficult, but we have become either too old or too lazy to do simple repairs around our homes. No more. I have MAT in speed dial, and he will be forever our home handyman. I finally met MAT (of all trades). He came in, did an excellent job, worked steadily, and finish in record time, installed a toilet and a kitchen hood range. Clean up after he finished the job, this friends was money well spent. This was my first time as a customer in Lowes, I went to find a bird bath. As a first time customer I am not happy at all with the service. Being unfamiliar with the store, I made my way to the garden center and I didn't see any bird baths out. So, as a customer, I asked an Associate and he simply pointed in the direction where the bird bats were located. I went in that direction, but no luck. So, I ask again and another Associate did the same thing (pointed and said, "over along the wall"). I then asked if she could walk with me and show me... and she said it'll be a minute. I told the Associate that I would wait, it wasn't a problem. I didn't know that I had to ask the Associate to walk me in the direction of the bird baths. I felt belittled and mortified. When a paying customer is not sure of an aisle or location ... the Associate's job is to assist the customer. Once I got to the checkout and the Associate saw me in line, she turned her light off. At this point I was disgusted, and annoyed. I went to the self checkout. As I was leaving the store none of the Associates said "Have a nice day" instead they just stared... Ultimately, I did not appreciate the half ass service I received as a first time guest. It was not a welcoming environment and the Associates need to do better. But the following week when they went to swap it out the guy from the truck called me to say that the one they had was dented, and if I still wanted it. trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone is impossible at this place. Horrible experience with delivery of new refrigerator!! Would NOT recommend ordering from Lowe's. I ordered on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Delivery was set up for the following Monday between 12-4. By 3:30 still no delivery, so I called. They said they were behind and it would be around 6-7pm. Waited until 6:30. Still nothing. Called again and they said there were still 3 more deliveries before me so it would be later. Sooo, waited until 9:00 pm. Nothing. Not even a phone call! So, I called my local Lowes store in Orland Park, IL and asked to talk to the manager (and yes, my name is Karen, totally living up to the meme). Manager said they should have called earlier to tell me that there was a big dent on the fridge and they would need to pick up another one from the distribution center and it would not be able to be delivered that day, even though 2 different delivery people told me it would definitely be delivered that evening. So, the manager told me he would email the distribution manager to be sure I was contacted first thing in the morning to set up a new delivery time. 8:00 am the next day, still no phone call so we of course called them. Was called back and informed that they would not be able to deliver until the following day, Wednesday! So, almost 3 days with NO REFRIGERATOR!!! All my food had to be thrown away because I had it in coolers! Their only compensation was $100 for the cost of food. Ha! What a joke!! So here I sit with no fridge typing this while I order take out and spend more money because I have no fridge and no food. Worst experience ever!!! I'm especially pissed that the delivery drivers didn't even have the courtesy to call to let me know they would not be coming that day. Instead, I sat home waiting from 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Most unhelpful poorly customer service ever don't ever go if you need help with cutting wood for a project cause they won't help you. they will mainly tell you what they won't do. I found a project for a bean bag toss game on THEIR website with tools and measurements. It also stated that they will cut the wood for the project. I go in the store not 10 minutes ago with the direction printed in my hand and they say they can't cut anything except for the plywood. Then this asshole guy says he won't take the responsibility of going around picking out each piece for me. That he doesn't have time for it. (Wtf! Is that not your job to help customer find products if they need it?) he then goes on to say I'm not doing your project for you. I told him yet again, I'm not asking you to put it together for me, I just need the wood cut. I felt the urge to go straight Madea on his ass but I simply smiled and said never mind and walked out. Thought we caught a good Memorial Day sale on our fridge. Estimated delivery 9a-1p on a Friday per email. Text sent Thursday said 8a-12p. Even better! My husband who works overnights came to our new house right from work thinking he'd just stay up and be ready for the delivery person when they got here. Multiple calls and follow ups later, and it's almost 6p and we still have no refrigerator and my husband now has to go into work on 0 sleep. Do not recommend Lowe's delivery for any appliances.
