This was the worst Menchie's location I have visited. More than half of the staff were discourteous and gave an unwelcoming impression from the moment I arrived. I was not informed that I needed to press the "Continue" button on the payment screen, which resulted in an unintended tip that I was unable to reverse. To make matters worse, I later discovered an overcharge on my card. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location and would advise others to review their receipts carefully. read more

TLDR/ Food: Limited, Cost: Exorbitant, Service: Nil, Ambiance: Bright, Verdict: Sure, but why? This is a frozen yogurt place, so, you already know what to expect. Something a little good but also a little meh. The experience is completely relative to your ability to create something you like. So, if you are a good judge of flavor combos, or if you like things simple then you will probably like this place but if you are a "I want a little of everything" kind of kid, then your mix is probably going to end up tasting like sticky cold trash. That being said, the base flavors they keep in stock along with their litany of holiday and seasonal offerings is why this place survived what I like to think of as the "Froyo Fad" that passed a few years ago. Food: There is a good combo of seasonal flavors Ex: During Fall they often have a pumpkin option. They also have popping boba which is a singularly froyo kind of experience, a little good and a little weird (like eating strawberry flavored fish eggs) both unsettling and also enjoyable on some level. There are a lot of toppings to add but sometimes they are not the freshest looking and they are open to the public, so, there is no guarantee of cleanliness or items Fred from cross contamination. Service: None to speak of, the staff seems utterly or udderly (forgive my pun) unconcerned that you are there until you pay and then they seem to want a tip for giving you a spoon and occasionally wiping down the spigots and refilling the toppings. It is a weird feeling for me to not want to give a tip, but it just feels like I am already over-paying for "not ice cream" and toppings of questionable sanitary quality but to add insult to injury I feel obligated to tip you because you placed a spoon in my froyo and took my money. No thanks. That leads me to price. Cost: The frozen yogurt market is a minefield of poor choices. I cannot tell you how many times I Have gotten a flavor combo only to regret it moments later. The price for two large cups of flavored yogurt recently was over 30 dollars. That's like the equivalent of what, 4 store bought ice cream tubs? I just feel like the value isn't there, even if you are lucky enough to rise to the occasion on flavor. Overall, this is not a bad place. If you are going to pay for froyo, this is probably the best bet in Auburn to avoid sickness or poor flavor combos. I guess I just don't see the appeal of something that is just as unhealthy as ice cream but also makes you poop more? Maybe you like froyo, in which case, this place is a solid bet. read more

What is there to even complain about? It's a self serve yogurt stand. If there is something wrong, it's most likely that you don't know what to do here. In all respect, the employees here keep everything clean and are super sweet. My favorite flavor will always be dole whip, which also means I don't have to fly to Hawaii to enjoy this wonderful treat. They also had many chocolate and other fruity flavors! They give free samples, and that means don't abuse it! Get a rewards card/app, pick your yogurt from 10 flavors and over 15 toppings, pay, pick a spoon of your color, eat it, and repeat. So much fun, easy, and tasty! Didn't get to use the bathroom, so I can't verify how clean it is there. But I do love their children's area in the small corner. Parking is very easy and available for most customers since next door is a huge movie cinema. read more

This location advertises in Entertainment, the used-to-be-book and now app that is the US's oldest coupon/discount promotion service. But they don't honor the offer they advertise. What a pain -- drive over, make a bowl just the way I like it, and then they won't accept their own coupon. Staff were weirdly unapologetic, "yeah we don't honor that" without even bothering to deny that, of course, their manager/owner authorized it and can't really disavow it. YAAAAAAY! We have a Menchie's in Auburn finally! If you're not familiar with the Menchie's franchise, they offer self-serve yogurt with a myriad of awesome toppings and help you with great service accompanied by a smile. Their stores are colorful and are almost like something right out of a japanese anime. They have a good variety of yogurt options. These yogurt spots seem to be sprouting up everywhere nowadays but this location has a couple really nice gals working the counter. If there's one thing that will set this location apart from the others in the area, it'll be the staff. Not sure how long they've been open but since I actually had to create the business profile in Yelp, it's probably only been open less than 2 weeks. Well.....things are great so far. Will be back again to take advantage of the coupons they gave me. There is also a rewards program for you yogurt addicts. Try the taro and traditional tart swirl. Located outside of the Outlet Collection, the shop is spacious and very clean. It's actually one of the larger Menchie's locations I've been to. There are several tables inside the shop plus a few outside for the warmer months. They offer 14 flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt at $0.49 per ounce and a military discount is offered. There is usually a good variety of sweet flavors as well as fruity, tart, and sorbet. Toppings are fresh and plentiful and include cereal, candy, chocolate, nuts, fruit, boba, cookie dough bites, cheesecake bites, sauces, syrups, and whipped cream. There are also freshly baked waffle bowls, some are even dipped in chocolate! If you're looking for something to take home, try purchasing their pre-packaged yogurt. It keeps for a long time in your freezer and comes in handy for those late night snack attacks! Every occasion I've been in, I've always received wonderful service. The team is friendly and welcoming, and they are always happy to help. The owner is pleasant and happy to meet her customers. My only suggestion for improvement is in the area of the monthly featured flavors. On a few occasions, this shop has not had the promotional flavors on the first day of the promotion but rather a couple of days later. Menchie's corporate offices advertise the featured flavor to arrive on the first day of the month, and all of the other shops I go to always have them on time. I'm not sure if this location has experienced a delay in receiving the product on time or not, but it's disappointing when you want to go in for the new promotional flavor on the first of the month and aren't able to try it. For build your own froyo this is the spot! I have ate at several of these types of establishments and menchies has the best flavors by far. Their topping selection is top notch as well. The only real blemish is that they only ever have two selections for non-dairy so if you are lactose intolerant and do not like either flavor at the tone you are there then you are s.o.l. They do however switch up all the selections regularly so that is a plus. Give it a shot, especially on a warm night! read more

I love Menchie's. I've been going to different locations for too long to count, and the folks here are just as nice. Its nice going to a place where you can find all of the ingredients online, so when you're someone like my fiancee who is allergic to so many things, you have less of a worry. They're priced the same as most of the other self serve type of this fad, but what's nice is you know what you get and you get good deals all around. This location is pretty awesome. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because they have less yogurt choices than some of the other places I've been to. The flavors they have are really good though and all the toppings and sauces are phenomenal. I like that there is always a variety of candy, fruit and caramel and chocolate sauces. I would say this is a great fro yo place if you don't want to be "bothered by staff," and what I mean by this is simple. I came in to grab some fro yo. Walked in and saw 2 girls "working" which consisted of gossip about this girl and that girl. Pretty funny if you ask me. No greeting even after me almost bumping into one of them. Then out came the 3rd girl who clearly wasn't in the "click" or she really cares about her job. I want to give her Kudos for work ethic. The other girls followed each other around stopping to gossip every minute or so. A simple "hi, how are you," or even "hey have you tried our pumpkin blah blah..," but nothing.
