Cold Stone is slightly different than I remember it but also exactly the same. The concept is the same it just doesn't have the same amount of hype as it did when it first came Out. I still go with the triple berries and cheese cake combo which is always delicious and traditional in my mind. The Federal Way location has been able to serve me once and they did a good job. We buy around 8 cakes from here yearly.....not only does he not remember us.....he was nickel and dime-ing us over a $5 promo that was offered at the cashier. After all the fuss, he had the gall to tell my wife not to come back. Well, he tried to excuse himself with his exact words were "you don't have to" in response to my wife saying she might not come back again. When I told him I'll kick his "donkey" if he ever disrespects my wife again....... This joker challenges me to come back at 9pm when they're closed. Now that our favorite ice cream place in Federal Way is gone (Sub Zero) we have come back to Cold Stone. It's pretty good and certainly allows you to make an ice cream that is tailored to your desires. Service is usually decent and friendly. They often times seem under staffed, so there is usually a line and wait. When it's busy, you are likely going to need to go eat in your car as there are only a couple of tables and chairs and it's loud, chaotic, and unfortunately not the cleanest establishments. But if you want ice cream, definitely a good option! read more

Came here around 6PM on Wednesday, May 23rd 2024. I got the cheesecake fantasy and it tasted great. What wasn't great was my experience here. During my visit, there were three employees working there at the time I believe: an Indian woman, a blond white woman, and an Asian male. The Indian woman and the Asian male were incredibly nice, professional, and respectful. However, the blond white woman was literally the rudest person I've ever met. She lacks any sort of customer service and was not only rude to us, but also rude to her coworkers and other customers, to where everyone was visibly uncomfortable from her utter lack of professionalism. This person should not be employed in any customer-facing business at any capacity. Business/franchise owner, if you're reading this, please re-evaluate your employee roster and make operations more lean. We had a graving for a Banana Split Sundae or a Banana Fudge Sundae and no matter where we searched (by phone or Yelp) in the Federal Way area (Denny's, Shari's, Black Bear Diner, etc.) not a single business served either. We thought a Banana Split was a standard, but found we were mistaken. We finally called Stone Cold Creamery and the gentleman answering the phone (later identified as Dave) said they don't have one on the menu, but he would be glad to make one up for us. Our first visit ever to a Stone Cold Creamery business, and although there was no handicap parking, parking was available. As we entered Alexandria greeted us, ice cream cup in hand ready to prepare our treat. Dave remembered our call and asked if we're looking for a Banana Split, to which we replied "Yes". He said I'll make one up for you. What great service. Both Dave and Alexandria offered great conversation, with enthusiasm and smiles. Banana Splits were prepared, not like the old fashion ones we were looking for, but close. Dave even re-heated the hot chocolate fudge sauce to make sure it was nice and hot. Stone Cold Creamery sets a high standard for customer service, and other businesses would do good to follow their example. We will definitely be back for our next treat graving. The location is sort of hidden in this little strip mall behind a Jimmy Johns and it is never super busy when we have gone. The team there are always courteous and efficient. No matter the crazy combo, they are always willing to accommodate my weird flavors and seem genuinely happy to make my ice cream dreams a reality. If you are looking for a good spot to enjoy ice cream in the spring/summer there is a lot of outdoor seating and a few indoor seating spots for people like me, who crave ice cream year round! There is loads of parking, a lot of decent restaurants around and a very chill vibe. If you are looking for a good family spot, or a date night treat this place fits the mold for both. It's a bit off the beaten path, tucked away behind a Jimmy John's sandwich shop, but worth taking the time to find it. I was impressed with the customer service at this location. The young man who prepared our order did an excellent job mixing our ice cream and toppings. 7/15/2029 - Ice cream is the perfect way to take the edge off the kids getting shots. I haven't been to a Coldstone in forever and it was every bit as awesome and tasty as I remember it. Staying inside sucks so to have this treat is perfection and sorely needed. I really appreciate them being open and keeping it very clean inside. This location has social distancing guidelines in effect so wear your mask properly please. A sign on the door asks that no more than 10 people are allowed in the lobby. All the tables and chairs are cleared away and there is a belt barrier keeping people from touching the glass cases except for the self serve ice cream. There is a huge hand sanitizer pump by the door to gel in and gel out. My ice-cream server, Rishab, was masked and gloved up which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Ordering is still the same: pick your size, pick your ice cream, choose your mix ins and enjoy. I did cheesecake ice cream with graham cracker pie crust and strawberries chopped in. I love it. One of my kids did mint with sprinkles and gummy bears. Another chose chocolate with chocolate chips and sprinkles. I split my Gotta have it with my youngest kid. There's tables outside between them and the Jimmy Johns but we opted to sit in the car. For one Gotta Have it and two Like It's with two mix ins a piece and a tip I spent about $20. I can't do this every day but I'm happy to for this place. I feel like I would have spent the same with the ice cream truck that drives through my hood and I got waaay more ice cream.
