I've been to Mendocino Farms quite a few times now, and overall I'm definitely a fan. Their salads, sandwiches, and wraps have consistently been really good. One thing I love is the **tomato basil soup**. It's incredibly smooth, tastes fresh, and has the perfect pureed consistency. The pesto on top takes it to another level. This time I also tried their seasonal **peach salad** with goat cheese and fennel, and it was delicious. I've had their Chicken Caesar Wrap delivered before too, and while it's on the smaller side, even the tortilla is good. Then there's the grilled cheese... I wasn't expecting ham in it, and the bread was SO dry. It came with apple slices on the side, which made it feel like a kid's meal, but I don't know any kid who would be happy eating that lol. Honestly one of the worst grilled cheeses I've had. Thankfully, almost everything else I've tried here has been good enough that one bad grilled cheese isn't keeping me away. I'll definitely be back. Came here for takeout and while the food was delicious, the wait was longer than expected. We ordered the Peruvian steak and the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon, both were really tasty and cooked well. The lady at the front mentioned the pork belly banh mi is coming back soon, and I'm already looking forward to having it again, it's one of my favorites. The Mendocino Farms in Westlake has been my go to for years. Never an issue. I drove by here to grab lunch on my way to an event with no vegetarian options and so I ordered for pick up. I ordered half sandwich and half salad....$12.50. The salad portion had exactly 4 bites and the sandwich only had 5 small pieces of tofu. The Westlake location never serves such small portions. First time trying Mendocino Farms and I was highly satisfied!!! I heard a lot of hype about it, since I love Salads I had to try it!! I ordered the modern Caesar salad without tomatoes and onion. This was a good pick because it was very delicious! The salad was a good size and I added chicken and it was so tasty and healthy. I like how they already have avocados with the salads and the krunchies they put on my salad was so bomb! I was not sure if it was breaded or what but definitely added a touch to the salad. I'm going to come back to order this again and their soup. The employee let me try the lemon chicken farro soup and OMG ingredients were on point! Next time I'll get that and half of a sandwich, which they have so many good selections to choose from. The service was 5/5 for me the cashier and the other guy who was working was phenomenal. I didn't get their names but they were patient and very amicable. They gave good suggestions for my mom and me since it was our first time. One person always has to go grab food while the other drives around But food was delicious! It's nice to sit out on their back patio eating area. I appreciate their gluten free bread option--and they are safe in handling a gluten allergy. Fresh sandwiches and salad at all casual elevated level. I got the Peruvian steak sandwich and my sister in law got the caprese. Both made fresh and were absolutely tasty. Order at the counter, get your number and find a table and then they bring out your food. Staff was friendly and there was lots of seating both inside and outside. One sandwich came out a little bit later than the other but it tasted freshly made so wasn't complaining. Restaurant is located in a busy shopping center so that's the downside as you may have circle around a few times until a space opens up. read more

I was really curious about this place so I've decided to try it for the first time. Was disappointed. I thought it was too expensive for what I got. However when I was there I saw a whole bunch of people coming in to eat there. So am not quite sure if my standards were set too high. Service was very slow. Food was mediocre in my honest opinion. Ambiance was ok for a fast grab and go place. But they do have out door dining area which was quite nice. Will I come here again most probably not. It was my first time trying it the other day, and I'd order again next time. The cashier who served us was extremely kind and welcoming. He even told me and my partner to help ourselves to the juice, as it was hot day outside. That was generous. The place was generally clean, but some tables still had leftover food and used napkins from previous customers. (Expensive) but unbelievably fresh and delicious but more than the food the vibe was down to earth and really clean I liked the entire ambiance of the restaurant. But unlike most good, clean places this one has 1 feature that most places miss. The cashier (Younger guy) was the most optimistic, happy, genuine person I have met in a long time, it's rare in LA you find somebody who loves what they do. This guy gets it. The cashier who assisted us in our most recent visit was super friendly and gave some great suggestions for what to order; I ended up going with the Golden State Cobb with Chicken, which was like your standard cobb salad but much more elevated. The Seasonal GOAT is usually my go to, and I loved the peaches they had for the summer. The "Not So Fried" Chicken sandwich ended up being the star of the show though; if you order this, you will be so surprised on how much it tasted like chicken sandwich with a whole breaded filet! After a doctor's appointment in the west Valley, Dear Hubby and I debated about what to eat for dinner. I wasn't that hungry, and he said that he was starving. We went back & forth on what kind of food, and where to go. I suggested Mendocino Farms, as that would be new for us at The Vineyards since our last visit there. I was also in the mood for a tasty sandwich. The exterior of this new location for them is very appealing. The interior, not at much. It's actually very bland / generic inside. It almost looks like they never received the interior decor package from their corporate designer since they opened. By contrast, other locations we've been to, including Westlake Village, and Marina Del Rey, have very visually interesting interiors. That being said, we sat outside on their smallish patio, overlooking a hidden garden area at the corner of Rinaldi Street & Porter Ranch Drive. It's a shared outdoor space that's beyond the formal patio areas of Mendocino Farms and Lure Fish House. It made for a restful place to enjoy our meal. The young lady taking orders was delightful. She assured us that one of the best things about their menu is that you can mix and match, substituting to get just the ingredients that you want, especially on the sandwiches. I had the pickled onions removed and added goat cheese to my turkey / bacon sandwich, and went with toasted sourdough instead of harvest wheat bread. It was delicious! At first, I thought that it seemed small when the order arrived, especially on the metal trays they use to deliver the in-house meals. There aren't any sides or chips included. That makes each sandwich on the expensive side @about $15 for many of the offerings. The quality is so good, though. And it would take some stocking up at home to have all the ingredients that were included in my 'wich. DH likewise enjoyed his sandwich. We shared a side of pesto pasta salad that was very tasty. The total delivered some sticker shock for two sandwiches, one side, and one lemonade - north of $43. It's very easy to have nostalgia for when that might have been about $20 or $25, and not too long ago, either! read more

I enjoyed it especially the portion it was a good size sandwich especially considering how their sandwiches have gotten smaller over the years. It was nice having f a good filling sandwich. I have been to Mendocino a few times, this location specifically and have never had a bad experience. The place is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the sandwiches are creative and juicy. Parking can be challenging sometimes but that is not the restaurants fault. This time I ordered the Prosciutto & Chicken and my friend a Peruvian steak which I have had many times. The sandwich was light and flavorful but filling at the same time. You can taste the quality ingredients used to make the meal. The honey roasted almonds adds a sweet/crunchy component to the inside of the sandwich and the pesto cuts through at the end to balance it out. Both are great and if you're contemplating between the two I'd say the Peruvian is more savory and slightly larger whereas the P&C has an extremely light sweetness to it. Overall, love this place and I will continue to return. Keep in mind the portions aren't large but based on the quality of ingredients the price tag is reasonable imo. This relatively new Mendocino Farms is located in the Vineyards Shopping Center in Porter Ranch. Parking in the lot can be difficult depending on what time you arrive. Fortunately, we visited this restaurant on a Monday evening and parking was plentiful. This is an order at the counter type of restaurant where they bring the food to you. The menu had a decent selection of sandwiches and salads. We ordered the Vegan Banh Mi, a Sweet Peach & Goat Cheese Salad, the Farm Club and sides of the Spicy Curried Couscous. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor area had a foosball table to play free of charge. We chose to sit outside. After choosing our table, we scanned a QR code on the table so that the server would know which table to bring our food to. Our food arrived within about 10 minutes. Everything was nicely plated, sufficiently portioned and tasty. The Spicy Curried Couscous was amazing! The Vegan Banh Mi had a serious kick to it. The salad was delicious. It should be noted that a small side is about 1/4 cup. Our server, James, was full of energy, super friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable. There were two gender neutral, individual user restrooms that were generously sized and in good working condition but unfortunately needed some cleaning. I will definitely return! read more
