The taco was good but it came with a cilantro salsa drizzled on the outside of the taco which made it harder to eat. The horchata is really good. Trinity hooked me up with a taster of horchata and another tasty drink concoction before I ordered. The food was great. The staff is extremely friendly and offered excellent service. this is hands down my favorite spot to eat in the area. not only is the food amazing (flavorful, perfect ratio of ingredients, not stingy, etc) the staff is INCREDIBLE!!! i have celiac disease which can be so difficult to eat out because of the increased risk to cross contamination of gluten. i was recommend to go here by other celiacs because of their level of care with all allergies, (not just gluten!!!). i told them i had celiac (which is very rarely known mind you) and the staff went directly in to telling me everything that was safe for me and what wasn't. so they are educated on their allergies and accommodate so you can feel safe eating with them. not only that but they are SO thoughtful!!! i told them my mom wanted to try some of the elote (not pictured in this post bc we dug in too fast lol) but she had them cut it in half so we could both enjoy it without me getting glutened. i truly cannot recommend this place enough. it is SOOO freaking cute inside and outside too!!! everyone is kind and thoughtful. i've never had a bad interaction with someone working there. it truly feels like they are hosting you and making sure you feel at home :) noelle, annie, mia, and luis are AMAZING!!! read more

Before I mentioned the food, what I really enjoy about this place is the team that works there. Their very friendly and have great customer service. Anytime I go there for lunch they greet me with a smile and I feel very welcomed! I go there pretty often during my lunch, which is about 2 times a week or maybe 3. Since I'm a creature of habit I usually go for the Nacho's with chicken or the Surf and Turf burrito which I substitute it with chicken which is so GOOD!! I've also had a variety of there tacos which hasn't disappointed me at all. Side Note: I brought my boss over to Masa-Masa and she's been hooked ever since! But the place is not that huge and there's limited seating. I ordered al pastor and chicharones tacos. It was decent but not as authentic. This was our first experience at Masa Masa. Highly recommended by our friends that live local. They warned us ahead of time that they are huge and enough to split or for two meals. My husband and I settled on the same burrito, surf and turf, so we decided to split it. They don't offer a lot of burrito options, but you can customize your order. Our friend had the surf and turf and took out the carne asada and added more shrimp. They didn't cost to sub out the carne asada for shrimp, Details: Surf & Turf Burrito - 18.00 Flour tortilla filled with house marinated carne asada, shrimp, cilantro rice, pico de gallo, queso blanco, monterey jack, avocado salsa, and chipotle aioli It was so tasty and we didn't need the extra salsas they gave us. We got a red, green, and a salmon colored one. The red one was medium. The salsa was free, but orders do not come with complimentary chips. A star less for that. All Mexican restaurants should come with complimentary chips and a salsa bar. We ordered on line through Yelp and picked up in store through DoorDash, we did that as that's how they offer to do your ordering online through Yelp. There wasn't an option to order directly through the restaurant that I saw. I might have missed it I didn't realize that it's $5.40 more per burrito to order online. Oops!!! On the menu it's $18 and online it's $23.40 each. I'm never doing that again. I've never used door dash before and I won't be using them again. Total with tax our order of two burritos was $50.43. Expensive it was good, but not gold plated good. It took around 20 minutes for our order to be ready for pick up. In the end I highly recommend Masa Masa surf and turf burrito. Fantastic tacos and service! The reviews here are well earned. It's a smaller cute grab and go place. If you go at off hours like a 4pm dinner on a weekend, you'll probably get a table like we did though. Ordered 10+ tacos from the menu, a surf and turf burrito, a mango Fresca, chips & guac and very satisfied! Decent prices and my taste buds were dancing in flavor from their house sauces (their hot is hot!) and their unique taco choices. The restaurant was cute inside--small, but with some seating--and the employees were friendly and provided good service. My favorites were definitely the Al Pastor, Korean Beef, Hot Chicken, Sweet Pork Belly, and Garlic Shrimp. The Al Pastor was probably my favorite meat. It was super flavorful with roasted pineapple and had the perfect sweet and savory balance. The Korean Beef was so tender and paired really well with the spicy kimchi. The Hot Chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the slaw and pickles made it even better. The Sweet Pork Belly was juicy, sticky-sweet, and so good. The Garlic Shrimp was light, fresh, and paired with mango salsa and cilantro lime crema. The QuesaBirria had good flavor, but I think we waited a little too long to eat it, so it got a bit soggy. The Chicharrones were perfectly crispy and the citrus crema was really good. The Al Pastor Mulita had insane flavor, just a little on the smaller side. Masa masa is absolutely amazing! I went on Thursday at 5pm and it was already packed inside. Food is served quickly so tables get changed over pretty fast. My husband got their fried fish taco which he loved and the birria had a nice cheese taste and paired perfectly with the consumme. I got the cauliflower taco and it was delicious, slight sweetness and pairs well with their sour cream creama. The Al pastor nachos and spicy elote are my favorites. You can also for the elote to be split in half and it is seasoned perfectly and the corn has a nice char on the outside. The Al pastor nachos are huge and easily can be shared with two people. I love how they have vinegar onions on there and their al pastor comes with pineapple pieces. I love pairing this with their green and habanero salsas and for a pro tip: you can dip their nachos in your leftover birria consumme if you order their taco For dessert we got their churro ice cream for the first time and asked for the caramel and ube sauces on the side. Alright ladies, you made me say Mmmnnn! We were visiting friends that lived nearby and they recommended this place and mentioned it was women owned. We arrived for a late lunch this past Saturday. Its located in a newer shopping center. It is small inside, but big enough with about ten tables. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The menu also has a good variety but not too overwhelming. Prices for tacos is about $5.25 each unless you get the seafood ones which is about what you pay at most places for a taco. We each ordered 2 birria tacos, one carnitas and one grilled shrimp with nachos with Carne Asada to share. There is no complimentary chips n salsa. It is considered a side. Wait time was less than 15 minutes. They brought out the nachos first. It was half the size I expected for $14.00. The tacos were also super small... street taco size. First bite was okay but as we continued to eat, we couldn't stop! It just kept getting better and better. It was really really tasty. I kept saying Mmnnn which is a good sign. My taste buds don't say that a lot. Most of my reviews usually say yeah it was good but not memorable and I am not in a hurry to return. This was memorable. We kept talking about how good it was on the way home and looked forward to coming back. It is different. Its not a taqueria or even Mexican food per se. The lobster taco is tasty but small so I do not think it's worth the price. My favorite is the garlic shrimp taco although the tofu pineapple taco was a close second favorite. Overall I thought the food was great in taste however a few observations that has me thinking it's not worth me going back. Fish taco ingredients - wonderful in taste. Disappointing it had one small piece of fish that tasted dry. The Fish was about 2 inches in length, perhaps that's why it tasted dry inside. It was served with 1 tortilla, my thought is if you're going to only serve 1 tortilla due to a cost factor, it shouldn't come out being served soggy. It would have been nice to get a larger (normal size) portion of fish. I read an understaffed review from someone from a few months back, from my perspective I also noticed something similar. I saw a young man work hard cleaning tables, take orders and put dirty dishes away, while myself and other customers had long wait times to get our food. By the time your food is given to you, it's luke warm. I am not one to give reviews, so hopefully some positive changes are implemented so this place can thrive, but for now, it's overpriced for the overall experience. read more

Small place in the fast growing west Roseville area. Tried the sweet pork belly taco and wow just wow it was bursting with flavor. Wasn't sure I would like the veggies in it but the crunchy pickled flavors were just perfect. Also had the fish taco and birria and both were good but could not compete with the pork belly. For dessert I had to try the ube churro and ice cream. The ube taste wise didn't do anything for me but sure did make the dish look pretty. Overall dessert is worth getting to top off a great meal. The way to convince a friend to go with you to a restaurant, tell them they have a Sangria flight. Yasss! The outdside is nothing crazy but those hand chairs for outdoor seating. The hands hold you while you grub! The employee making fresh tortillas and the smells will draw you in. We both got Sangria flights. I got the 2 veggie taco options/spicy elote and my friend got 3 tacos. Yay for vegan options! The Sangria flight was just too much for me. The sweetness was intense. Masa Masa is a foodie destination for delectable and creative tacos. I enjoyed savoring all four tacos I tried: Hot Chicken, Garlic Shrimp, Quesabirria, and Fried Shrimp. Days later, I'm still daydreaming and considering going again to try more flavors. I held off too long trying this restaurant! Service was polite, helpful, attentive, kind and generous. Even though you order at the counter and the server delivers your food to your table, the servers will still swing by to check on whether you are enjoying your meal and they are observant on whether you need water or refills. I also didn't have to worry about them prematurely clearly my table while using the restroom. I just realized from looking at another review that I had interacted with the woman owner, Ashlie. Inside, the restaurant has 5 tables for 4 and one countertop table with 4 or 5 seats. Outdoor seating includes 4 tables for 2 with chairs that are shaped like cupped hands. You sit in the palm of the hand. Restaurant is painted in sunny, warm colors with wall murals (i.e., hummingbird). One room divider has yellow daisy tiles. According to the menu, these items are Staff Picks: * Fried Avocado * Pork Al Pastor * Hot Chicken * Fried Shrimp * Masa Masa Birria Crunch * Spicy Elote * Churro Donut * Frozen Sangria These are My Server's Favorite Tacos: * Hot Chicken * Korean Beef These two flavors were also often mentioned as favorites in Yelp reviews. The Hot Chicken taco was fun and enjoyable to eat. It has fried chicken pieces. It's not too spicy. These are other flavors Yelpers wrote about, which surprisingly included two Plant-Based Tacos: * Fried Shrimp * Fried Avocado * Adobo Cauliflower My server told me these were the Most Popular Tacos or Customer Favorites: * Quesabirria (Award Winner) * Garlic Shrimp These two flavors ended up impressing me the most. The Garlic Shrimp were sauteed and topped with mango chunks and cilantro lime crema. The Quesabirria Taco was the easiest to eat and also contained cilantro lime crema. However, I didn't love the raw onion in the bone broth consomme. I got to try all 3 salsas or hot sauces: 1. Salsa Verde - This green sauce was the mildest. I think it contains avocado. 2. Red Spicy Salsa - This was my favorite salsa. Medium spice level. You can see the spices in the salsa. 3. Habanero - This orange sauce was the hottest, but it's tolerable. I think I was overly cautious about it, so I didn't allow myself to experience it fully. All the tacos come packed and dressed with flavor already, so I didn't think adding salsa or squeezing lime juice or dipping in consomme was needed. Fried Shrimp Taco was the messiest taco for me with the corn nibblets. Squeezing lime juice on it also didn't help, along with my attempts to photograph it while holding it. Still fun to eat and tasty. Tacos are loaded with ingredients. I think 3 tacos would be a good portion size for me. Yelp reviewers also recommended the Masa Masa Birria Crunch, Frozen Sangria, and Elote. The Frozen Sangria is made with blackberry juice. It's like a slushie or granita. I was surprised by how large and heavy the fish shaped glass was. Cool and refreshing on hot summer days. I couldn't really taste the alcohol, which could be misleading but more enjoyable tastewise for me. On my 2nd visit, the manager Luis was friendly and helpful. I tried these 3 tacos: Fried Fish Taco - Fish is hiding among veggies and sauce. I'm not a fan of raw cabbage shreds. It's OK and my favorite that I tried that day. Messy to eat. Pork Al Pastor - I couldn't tell it was pork, which seemed overcooked. The fresh roast pineapple was the star. I would love just a side of that pineapple. Is there such thing as a Pineapple Taco? Korean Beef Taco - I didn't like the tangy sauce. I was hoping for the flavor of bulgogi or a sweet and spicy tteokbokki sauce. This loaded saucy taco was messy to eat. I would suggest bulgogi, a more leafy and sweeter kimchi, and a spicy cucumber salad banchan inside a leaf or bed of romaine lettuce, but it's already many customers' favorite as is. Best experience ever! Went back the next day. Tried 6 tacos (asada, quesabirria, al pastor, chicharrón, garlic shrimp, carnitas, best to last) Luis was the most amazing kind server! Stays on top of everything and is so attentive :,) we love him Birria crunch!! Amazing Sangria! Amazing. Rice a staple! He also spent time telling us about how all proceeds go to different charities and they rotate monthly. Churro Donut with ube was great!
