Overall the salad is always fresh, hearty and tasty - I also got a side of Mac and cheese as I can't resist. I did end up taking this order to go as there we no seats anywhere in the restaurant, this location seems to be consistently busy which is good!! This is a walkup order at the counter, and grab a seat. They will bring your food to your table. In the 15+ years that I have been eating "Jacks Urban Eats" (at a variety of locations), my experience has always been good but not great. Truth be told is what I find surprising is that there just isn't an abundance of fast-casual restaurants that carry a ton of salad options. You have popular places such as "Panera Bread" as well as major supermarkets such as "Nugget", "Whole Foods", and "Raley's" (with create-your-own salad) but not much else. At least in the greater Sacramento area. Which takes me to Roseville; specifically "The Fountains @ Roseville" where this place has been around since 2012; four years after this upscale strip-mall officially opened. This is one of two locations in Placer County with the other being on Douglas Blvd in Granite Bay. For those that have been to a Jacks Urban Eats, the ordering process is confusing as the line snakes around and eventually when you get to the register, that is when you place your order. I remember previously when you used to write on a card of what type of salad you wish to order. Well, unfortunately they did away with that as all build-your-own salads are done electronically through the register. Not a fan of this method but it is what it is. During my most recent visit (which was on Sunday 7/27/2025 at around 1:40pm), it was packed to a capacity. Since this area was getting unusually cool weather (for July), this brought a ton of foot traffic into this place. After making my way to the register, I ordered their "Tri-Tip Plate". This was tender slices of their signature tri-tip while I decided on mashed potatoes & gravy, market vegetables, and chipotle-mango BBQ dipping sauce. My +1 went with a "Steak Salad" which uses mixed greens, bleu cheese, sundried cranberries, rosemary croutons, red onions, and balsamic vinaigrette. After paying the cashier, we both get numbers and proceed to the outdoor patio area (which is quite spacious) and enough room to accommodate at least 30-40 customers. Even though it was very busy, both our meals came out in about 7 minutes. As for my tri-tip, it was seasoned and tender but not a whole lot of flavor. Dipping it in the BBQ sauce made a huge difference but still just a 6/10 for me. My mashed potatoes were delicious but not piping hot and almost borderline lukewarm. The veggies were tasty though as this overall plate was just average at-best for me. As for her salad, there just wasn't a whole lot of steak in it. Which is disappointing since this was nearly $16 (after tax). Therefore, if you're looking for a solid salad, I would try "Garden of Eat'n" (only a mile away) as well as "Saladworks" in Lincoln. Overall, "Jacks Urban Eats" is decent but not a place I would go out of my way for. The employees here work their tail off so quality control might be an issue on days when it is super busy. But the restaurant itself was clean while the food was fresh. When you factor in the prices (which are a bit on the higher side), cozy ambiance, and slightly above average food, I am going to give The Fountains @ Roseville Jacks Urban Eats just an average three-star rating. read more

We came to Jack's Urban Eats on a Monday holiday and it was really busy. We arrived around 1:00, so the crowd was expected. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad with added red onion, my daughter got the mac & cheese, and we shared an order of Urban Fries. The chicken Caesar salad was good, but it could've used a little more dressing. The mac & cheese was unfortunately very bland no salt or real flavor which was a bit disappointing. Not sure if that's how it's meant to be, but it missed the mark for us. On the plus side, the Urban Fries were great and packed with flavor. We also had to sit outside, but the weather was nice, so that worked out well. Overall, mixed experience some hits, some misses, but still a decent stop depending on what you order. read more

I've been to plenty of different Jack's Urban Eats locations and for the most part they're generally good. The jacks urban fries are always a hit although I wish they would've let us also add garlic to them but you have to get one or the other, can't combine. I usually opt to make my own salad. The steak and most of the veggies were really fresh. The broccoli had multiple pieces that needed to be removed as they had brownish/gray spots. They no longer have the Gorgonzola dressing so I tried the Green Goddess and it was a good flavor, light and fresh. The Mac n cheese was very bland I remember it having more flavor in my past visits. If you use Uber eat they want you to go to Uber eats and get a refund. Sam, one of the managers is terrible and condescending. She needs customer skills along with her service and is not up to Uber eats on how they make the sandwiches there. You open it up and you basically pay 20 bucks for bread. Always liked Jacks, an pleased with daughter's choice to go here. There were 6 of us plus baby and squeezed around a table inside. I ordered the make your own salad which was great. Pick your own lettuce, 6 topping. We had sandwiches of different types. Everything was good accept the fries were Luke warm, even the garlic fries. This was disappointing. Service was fairly fast, atmosphere was lively, slightly over air conditioned in our corner. We came after 1:30 so not as busy as it could be. Like I said fries needed to be hot out of fryer but they were not. Otherwise we enjoyed our lunch. read more

It would've been 5 stars but during this visit the food ticket was tucked under my salad? majority was just to the side of the plate, but a chunk of the receipt was laid beneath some leaves of the salad. This is the first time i have been here in a while. It was lunch time on mother's day. The center was very busy and vibrant. The business was not very busy, which we thought was great. I ordered a double side of Beef Tri-Tip, and a side order of Turkey. I am on a restricted diet. Neither was enjoyable, and a few hours later my stomach was not well. The Tri-tip was very dry and looked cooked dry(well done). It was hard, Got the end which was even dryer. The meat was very hard to cut with a steak knife. They turkey as also very hard and dry. My boyfriend ordered the steak bowl, and everything seemed fine at first, but when he was nearly done eating (maybe 3-4 bites left), he noticed something odd mixed in with the remaining rice. It was a fully squished dead fly, completely flattened and embedded in the food like it had been there the whole time and got mixed in during assembly or cooking. We were both immediately grossed out especially from a place that prides itself on fresh ingredients. We flagged down a manager right away and showed them exactly what we found. She was apologetic and quickly processed full refunds for both of our meals, which we really appreciate. That said, finding a dead fly like that in the bowl raises serious questions about kitchen hygiene, pest control, and how food is handled/prepared. It completely ruined the experience for us, and honestly, it's hard to trust going back after seeing something so unhygienic. Located in the Roseville Fountains, very popular and busy eatery, even for a weekday lunch time. Seems to be a very popular place for young folks to hang out and meet up! Food is fresh but the flavors of their sandwiches are a bit bland and under seasoned. Portion sizes are pretty small and limited, especially given the prices of their sandwiches ($13-15 w/o any sides). Overall, very expensive for the food prepared, nothing so savory that we'd specifically have a desire to go back. Urban fries were probably one of their tastier dishes, but even then the fries felt like they were defrosted and dropped in the deep fryer. They sell beers by the can, so there are decent drink options to go w/ your meal. Parking is in the Fountains lot which is reasonable. Servers are fast and friendly. read more

We have never been here before and was recommended to come by neighbors. The food was good. We had two salads. However, i am sure the owner is not aware that the employees sleep on their breaks in a booth while customers are right across from them eating? When questioned if it was an employee, the other employee said yes it is an employee and no one ever complaints. I am complaining! How could this be ignored! I asked to speak to the manager and it is now 15 minutes later and no one has come to talk to us. I usually enjoy coming to Jack's Urban Eats in Roseville, but unfortunately, my visit today was really disappointing. There was a new employee at the counter taking orders, and while I understand everyone has a learning curve, it was clear they weren't properly trained or supported. Orders were being taken incorrectly--including mine--and when I received my food, several items were missing. I tried to politely ask one of the servers for help correcting the issue, but she was incredibly rude and seemed completely uninterested in helping. It felt like I was being a burden just for asking to receive what I paid for. The lack of customer service really soured the whole experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because it's frustrating to have a go-to spot let you down like this. A little more training and a lot more kindness would go a long way. read more
