Beef Chili
Nicole S.

I ordered online ahead of time around 12:30pm on a Friday. My order was ready when I got there. There were only a few tables available, but during lunch time that's what you'd expect. The chili was plenty hot and the bread bowl tasted pretty fresh. Everyone there was nice. I have zero complaints.

Cesar salad and clam chowder

It was a cold day and we thought some clam chowder would hit the spot!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sadly the restaurant was just as cold inside as it was outside we asked an employee and they were not helpful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Luckily the soup was hot and with some Tabasco, it warmed us up...a little. We enjoyed the soup and Caesar salad combo which doesn't come with bread any longer we splurged and shared an almond croissant which was the pièce de résistance!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Next time we will check the temp inside before ordering!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Roast beef and turkey

Pretty solid sandwiches. Enjoyed the roast beef with its horseradish spread. I'd recommend. 10/10.

I had to try Boudin again. It is a good spot when you want some soup. I always get a combo meal since I wanted soup and it is fall-winter vibes this time. I had the chicken pesto mac and cheese. Wow!! The chicken was cooked perfectly. It is not too dry and it tasted amazing. The pesto was not overpowering the mac and cheese. It truly complements each other. The second part of my order was the rustic tomato soup and I needed some good soup. It is very simple and very flavorful. One thing I do recommend when coming here or door dashing etc is to ask for the croutons and cheese on the side so it won't be too soggy. This meal is perfect and I will come back here again.

I have eaten at Boudin many times. But now the prices are a bit high for what you get. My husband had the Italian sandwich which had just one thin slice of each type of meat. I had the tomato bisque in a sourdough bowl which I have had many times, but this time it was only half full. See the photo. It was still tasty. We used the self-serve kiosk to order which was efficient. There were only a couple people in the restaurant so we were served promptly but they forgot our drinks at first. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are plenty of tables inside and out on the patio and the restaurant is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here for lunch and the experience was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was welcoming and the smell of the food was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Customer service was good. Everyone was so kind. I had the beef chili in a bread bowl and it was perfection.

Clam chowder and half a turkey avocado sandwich and an iced tea.

Stopped in for lunch today after a hair appointment and shopping at the Fountains in Roseville. This is a perfect spot to pick up a quick bite plus bakery items such as freshly baked bread, cookies and pastries to take home. I got the "pick a pair" with clam chowder and half turkey avocado sandwich. Also picked up a peanut butter cookie and cinnamon bread to take home. It was a little busy but the service was still good. You can order on your phone, kiosk, or at the register. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though it was warm outside I chose to eat outside to enjoy the sunshine on the covered patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Pesto Chicken Pesto Mac & Cheese

$16 pre tax for THIS small amount?! You RIPPED my wife off. Truly ridiculous. This is a suburb of California not the Hamptons or Beverly Hills or something ridiculous. I was furious when I learned my wife spent this much for a kids sized portion of MAC AND CHEESE with four thin pieces of chicken on top. It was tasty but absolutely not worth the price. DO BETTER

The Royale cookie - very small but is typically my favorite cookie from Boudin

I've never seen food move through me with such speed and determination. Let's just say the bowl made a return appearance faster than I expected, and it wasn't pretty. To be fair, there are currently public health warnings about certain produce, including vegetables, berries, and cilantro, so I can't say with certainty what caused it. If any of those ingredients were involved, that could be the culprit. Either way, this restaurant should take a hard look at its ingredients, suppliers, and food safety practices to make sure everything they're serving is fresh and safe. The bowl tasted fine going down, but the aftermath was unbearable. I hope this was an isolated incident, but no customer should be spending the next hour making emergency trips to the bathroom after a meal. I sincerely hope the restaurant investigates and ensures their ingredients are safe, because this experience was one I'd rather never repeat.

The owners of this venue are simply adorable…read more I ran a sandwich food challenge on the Nexdoor app and I reviewed a few sandwich shops recommended to check out. The Pastrami Shop was roughly 7 miles from home, so it was worth the short drive. The place is right off Sunset and Whitney Blvd in Rocklin. It's a very small place so ordering to go is popular. But if you find a seat, definitely enjoy the local vibe of the regulars and talk with the owners for a bit. They really are passionate about their business, and serving their customers. I really enjoyed my half hot pastrami classic sandwich. The bread was toasted, mustard, provolone, and a side of pickles and jalapeños. Boy was it good! I really should have had the full size. Give er a shot if you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it. I'll definitely stop by again. Loved it.

I'm truly at a loss for words in describing this place. Perhaps 'basic' might be most appropriate…read more Let's first say that when I walked inside I nearly immediately turned around to walk out. The general look and atmosphere is off-putting. It seems devoid of product, somewhat disheveled and disorganized and lacking any substantive character. The place appears very 'long in the tooth', and no food products were evident anywhere. Added to it, no customers, yet some came later. Yet, I was hungry and stayed. To be honest, glad I did. They sell essentially one thing-PASTRAMI, and that's it. Well, indeed true to the restaurant name. Again, everything is basic! I opted for a Classic Pastrami Sandwich and was given the option for bread, I chose a soft roll, and provolone for cheese, plus mustard. At $22. for a sandwich, well, I had some hesitation. The place is apparently owned and run by a charming older couple who really are out to please, very friendly and congenial. I felt like I fell into an old Russian Jewish deli on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, no frills. Basic, but good food! OK, the Pastrami and the entire sandwich were AMAZING! The quality of the meat was top notch and quite good, probably some of the best around. The sandwich was HUGE and enough for two meals. I was offered peppers on the side and it was perfect for me to add some. The sandwich was nicely warmed/toasted, the cheese melted perfectly and it wasn't a difficult messy thing to eat as are many more upscale sandwiches and burgers these days. So, in the end it was worth it. The sandwich was indeed a surprise and excellent. Plus, they checked after I bit into it to be certain I was satisfied, with a smile. I got some chips and a drink and ate it there. Plenty of napkins were provided. Located in a rather funky 1960s shopping mall it's small, not that easy to find yet parking seems OK. Albeit it somewhat pricey the food is very good and the value is there. If you want Pastrami then this is the place. They sell bulk packages of it too. Try it. You might be as surprised by it.

Clean storefront with plenty of tables and homey Americana decor. My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Disappointing Experience Due to Food Safety Concern…read more I visited this restaurant on Wednesday for lunch. This was actually my second time dining here. My first visit was pleasant, which is why I decided to come back. This time, I ordered what I believe was the tri-tip steak wrap. As I was finishing the first half of my wrap, I noticed a dead fly in my food. Needless to say, I was shocked and immediately lost my appetite. I walked to the front and asked to speak with a manager. The cashier who helped me was very friendly and professional. I explained the situation to her, and she relayed it to the manager. While I do appreciate that they refunded my meal, what disappointed me most was the manager's response. He never came over to speak with me, apologize, or acknowledge the situation directly. From where I was standing, he appeared visibly disturbed when informed, but he simply instructed the cashier to issue a refund and never addressed me as the customer. I understand that mistakes happen and that it was a busy lunch rush. However, finding a fly in a meal is a serious food safety issue, and I believe a manager or owner should take a moment to personally speak with the customer, show concern, and offer an apology. A little empathy would have gone a long way. The refund was appreciated, but the lack of acknowledgment and customer care left a much stronger impression than the refund itself. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm hesitant to return.

It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. I actually was comfortable asking her questions about the menu lol. Excellent service. Pretty solid drinks as well. The toffee shaken espresso was very delicious. Definitely no skimping on the toffee flavoring, so much that although it was kinda a bit sweet for me, the toffee flavor itself was so pleasant that the drink was still enjoyable for me in small sips. Didn't notice much blueberry flavor in the blueberry vanilla latte but still an all-around smooth latte. The brew taste was the kind that had some earthiness to it. Couldn't leave this place without getting some baked goodies as well lol. Blueberry scone was tasty but could've had more butter (soft but kinda dry and not flaky) and the coffee cake was scrumptiously melt-in-your-mouth. Small cozy interior. Visited on a weekday morning.
