When you are seated and order you skewers, the staff, who were super caring, fills the grill with red hot charcoal embers. The skewers automatically rotate and cook in about 3-5 minutes. It's been years since we came but it's still good! The kebabs were delicious - especially after we drop it in the seasoning they provide. We always order the beef and lamb kebabs. The eggplant dish was so yummy as well. It had just a right bit of crunch after being glazed in sauce. Hard to put an exact rating on this place. On the one hand it's expensive yet a little bit dumpy inside and located in the same housing complex as a meineke. Jersey gonna jersey. I would say every time we come here with my friends we can expect to pay around 40 a head. On the other hand the food is good overall and it's byob. It makes for a cozy atmosphere to enjoy a drink and eat with friends. The best dish here was the eggplant with potato. It was spicy and the potatoes inside were so good it tasted like a hash brown. I get it everyone I come here. The lamb skewers weren't too far behind. With the dipping spices they are served with they taste quite good. Other good skewers included the pork with enoki mushrooms and the fish tofu. Everything is pretty fresh I guess since they get good business here. The cold buckwheat noodles was not that good. You are better off ordering it at an actual Korean restaurant. Something tasted off in the flavorand it was a bit duller and not as sour. Noodle texture wasn't as elastic either. I ordered the spicy stir fry advertised on the front page of the menu. It was fairly standard Sichuan stirfry fare, with the option of adding various mushrooms and meats and seafoods like squid. A strong amount of Sichuan peppercorn dominated the taste. They seem to be run by ethnic Koreans from China and the two waitstaff speak both mandarin and Korean. read more

Both the food and the service are not satisfying! We ordered the sweet and sour crispy pork and fried dry tofu. 1. There is a small piece of foil in the dry tofu dish! The restaurant could not explain why. I doubt the sanitary conditions. 2. After I complained, the restaurant refunded me $10 out of $14 of the tofu. This is annoying as they should refund me the whole dish. But they instead still want to charge the portion I ate. 3. Both dish does not taste good. Very hesitant to write the review... because I know once this place gets more reviews then it'll get popular. But the restaurant is very delicious and the owner and staff definitely deserve recognition. I'm so happy there is finally a place in the nyc/nj area that is doing legit lamb skewers like in China. This is something I crave every time I go back to China, and now I don't need to fly for 14 hours to experience this anymore! The lamb is definitely the star, but definitely try the other meats as well, beef tendon has a nice texture to it but you need to cook it for a bit. Also the auto rotate of the skewers is a nice touch! The hot dishes are really good as well, authentic northern Chinese taste (this comes from someone who grew up in a northern Chinese household). The pork ribs in sour cabbage soup . We also tried the shredded pork, fried rice, dumplings are all super good. Also if your table bbq isn't large enough they also cook some skewers in the kitchen for - things that take a while like chicken wings. Right now it's byob! Do not be turned off by the fact that this place is behind a car mechanic place....come in anyway! I came here on a whim, because the original place I wanted was too packed and the Food Gods must've helped because this was so much more memorable. We did do an array of meats, from chicken, steak and lamb. The chicken was by far my favorite. The MAIN THING to order is their delicious fried rice! I had always been turned off about rice that is ham and shrimp, like it's too much going on, but this made it work. It was nice and soft, plus pipping hot! We ended up getting two rounds of it for 4 people. As for other dishes we ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which was just honey glazed chicken...it was SO SWEET..maybe too sweet...like instant cavities sweet. Fun, tasty, and authentic place to be in! You cook the skewers by yourself on top of flaming coals, and it's really fun. Personally, I don't like the lamb skewers that much because it's tasteless lol. Besides that, I'd strongly recommend pork intestine as well as chicken wings. I love them so much!! Was in the area visiting my sister, who goes to Rutgers and decided to stop here for a late lunch. Since our family is from Changchun (Northeast China), we grew up chomping down on lamb skewers whenever we were back in our hometown visiting relatives. The seasoning at this place for their lamb skewers is SPOT ON. Exactly like how I remembered it when my parents would send me back to China for summers during my childhood. They start you with little appetizers and they were all so good too. We got the traditional/house lamb skewers and the XinJiang lamb skewers; while both were tender the XinJiang lamb skewers were far more flavorful and their spice combination is amazing. You have the option of grilling it in front of you by yourself or they'll grill it for you and bring it out. We opted for grilling by ourselves and were told to grill on the bottom, and once it's cooked, put the skewers on top of the rack to keep warm. We came at an odd hour during a weekday so it was not busy and the server definitely kept up and food came out fast. Will certainly be back again if I'm in the Edison area!!! read more

The beef and pork taste like it had been keeping in the fridge for a year. Nothing represent Chinese BBQ. The service was very rude feels like I owe her a lot of money. Roasted lamb leg was really good but I heard that you need to call in advance for them to cook half way before finish cooking in front of you for another 5-10 min.. I've also tried the lamb skewers, spicy beef skewers, enokitake pork roll skewers, bread skewers, and the mushroom skewers and they were all very good. It was honestly too much meat for me so enokitake pork which had the mushroom rolled in thin pork was my favorite. There were also other dishes that you can order other than the skewers. Very disappointed. I keep driving by this place and when I looked it up on yelp I thought the reviews looked pretty good. My friend and I were very excited to check it out. The restaurant was very chilly and there were employees sitting at one of the tables next to ours, putting raw meat on skewers, which seemed a little bit unsanitary to be doing in the middle of the seating area, but I still had high hopes, thinking they really knew their BBQ. There also was no music playing, it was very quiet and kind of awkward with only one other group besides us. We ordered the Signature Lamb Skewers and a Chicken Mushroom Soup. The soup came out first and I wasn't a fan. The meat didn't seem like very good quality and it was just a bit disappointing. I was excited when the Lamb Skewers came out, they looked good but were very flavorless and the meat also didn't seem like very good quality, very fatty. We actually just tried both and took the check after we sat for a little bit with our tea (which also tasted a little strange) and left and stopped at H-Mart and just bought some food to tie us over. First time trying this place. I loved the interactive aspect of the skewers. The meat was delicious. The spicy beef was spicy, but not overwhelmingly spicy. Our favorite was the enoki mushrooms wrapped in thin sliced pork. We also ordered the Three Slices dish, which is cucumber with onions and peppers. This is my second time here. The first time I was here was about a year ago and the food was amazing. Decided to come back here today. Never again. I specifically asked the waitress if the meat was spicy and she told me no. Even though I saw what appeared to be red seasoning/sauce smothered all over it. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but no, it was spicy. I ordered the chicken wings which apparently was pre-cooked. I mean I guess it saves time but it didn't give me the bbq effect it had the first time I was here. The chicken chunks were spicy so I didn't have it. It was just sitting there. My boyfriend thought the lamb was okay but not the best. The food is not as good as it was once before. I don't know if they changed owners or something but this was horrible experience. They have some very tasty dumplings. Unfortunately, the last time I went , despite the menu stating 20 pieces for $7.95, after we ordered, we were told the price for all dumplings was $10. Okay, not a huuge deal since we came here just for the dumplings. But then we realized after we started eating that they also shorted us a few dumplings (4-5), but we had already started eating and we didn't want to make a big rukus. We also had the C42 boiled spicy fish pot, which was tasty (FYI, it has noodles, veggies, enoki mushroom at the bottom as well). Also FYI rice is $1 per bowl. Service in general is pretty subpar. I used to like this place when it's called "dong fang chuan Dian". Today is my first time came in here after they change the owner. But I would never come back again and would never recommend my friends to come here, here are my reasons: 1. The lamp skewers we ordered was not tasty at all and you can hardly taste the lamp flavor and they are somehow raw. 2. The lamp kidney we ordered was burnt on one side and not fresh at all. The taste was just amazingly awful. It tastes like leather and the gross taste ruined my whole appetite. (I like lamp kidney but this is worse than the worst)3. Other than the two dishes, we order the 红烧牛筋，it's just tasteless. And the squid was very so so. They cooked for us, we didn't cook the skewers. The waitress was nice but not helpful, especially after we complained the poor quality and tasteless food, they still didn't feel sorry or anything. The bill is $50, but we still give 10% tips. But I would never ever come back to this place again and hope my experience will help some customers at least they should come prepared. read more
