I had a very good experience with Eugene, Guven and his team for the carpet to solid hardwood flooring project I did for the two upstairs bedrooms and the passageway connecting the two bedrooms When I contacted Eugene for the first time, he took more than half hour to clearly explain the differences between solid hardwood and engineered hardwood, 3 inch vs 5 inch planks, what is sanding, glue down / nail down / glue + nail down, and many other queries Once at the store, he had the exquisite Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba) Indusparquet wood ready to see and then went over the detailed plan from ordering to install if I were to go ahead with the purchase I did and from then on he moved very quickly. The next business day (Monday) he came to do the measurements and the wood was delivered the next day itself The install was done by Guven and his team who were very easy to work with yet very proficient. All throughout the 4 day project Eugene and Guven kept me abreast each morning of what they plan to cover that day and then at the end of the day, what was done and what will be done the following day Equally importantly, the crew made sure that the work site was cleant up at the end of every day and Guven stayed late the final day to make sure that every small detail was taken care of This is a A team from start to finish both technically and interpersonally (Eugene and Guven are both very personable), it is by good fortune that I found Menlo Flooring (as I stay 30 mins away in the South Bay) and I look forward to working with them again in the future Thanks Menlo Flooring for making my bedroom floors look so good (pics attached) read more

During our process of remodeling a newly purchased house Half Moon Bay, Eugene and Markos were very helpful in explaining different options as to the types of finished and unfinished engineered hardwood floors, and gave us many samples to try out in different lights such as the morning, afternoon and night. This helped us determine what tone, and warmth of the color would be best all around. We received a couple of references from them and contacted the customers to ask about their work and their opinions of their qaulity and overall satisfaction. This time I had them do a project for our house and I was very happy with the results. Eugene, Marco, and the installation crew are very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of carpet and flooring materials at several price points, are knowledgeable about the materials and were helpful in getting me several samples so that I could choose the materials that look best in my space. Menlo Flooring installed hardwood flooring and carpet for us. I rarely do online reviews, but Menlo Flooring deserves that. From the time I walked into their store to the small details on installation, Eugene, Markos and crew were impeccable all the way. I had considered 3 other options in the bay area before getting to them, but none came even close. At the store, they were very patient and knowledgeable to fully understand our budgets and what we were looking for. They came to our house with a number of samples to see how they looked! During installation, the crew (especially Fernando, great guy, very professional) did a phenomenal job, with a lot of attention to details: like in the stairs where they manually make the noses and install them beautifully, in the finishings like baseboards in the kitchen where I didn't like the initial baseboard used and they didn't measure efforts to remove those and install new ones, constantly asking for input on small details, careful moving of furniture, etc.) The final result is impressive. We made our selection. His crew arrived on the appointed day and completed two rooms in two days. The crew was outstanding. They addressed some difficult issues. The floors look great. Menlo Flooring just finished a job at our place; 1600 square ft of hardwood floor had to be replaced due to moisture damage. The team did an excellent job; removing the glued-down old floor, leveling the slab, putting in a new moisture barrier, laying sound insulation and a beautiful floating new hardwood floor. Really subpar customer service. Spent an hour here, picked 3 samples, filled out forms, and asked for the samples to be sent to my designer. The samples never sent. Had 0 follow up. They didn't any of my follow up calls. They also never sent confirmations. I would recommend to take your business elsewhere. read more

Amid the Covid pandemic, these guys need to step it WAY up! I walked into the store today to see both sales guys put on face masks. Wondered how much of their unprotected aerosols were already floating in the air. I wish I had left immediately. The guy helping me had his mask over his mouth but not his nose. I was extremely uncomfortable but didn't speak up (stupid me). The other guy then took his mask off! I asked him to put it back on (and he did). Guy helping me turned to me and asked, "do you even know of anybody that's gotten Covid?" My answer, "yes!" At that point, I left as quickly as possible, and I hate myself for spending even 10 min there. read more

Terrible experience. The sales people were very falsely friendly and accommodating at the point-of-sale. They missed their delivery date and then tried to charge me four times the delivery amount, ontop of what I originally paid for. I had to cancel the order. I called and talked to three different people who are going to help me cancel the order and I never heard back. I had to go back into the store physically to do it. read more

I made a mistake by starting with a flooring company that isn't Menlo Flooring & Design. The company botched my floors, so I fired them and called MFD. Marcos was at my house that evening, inspecting my project. He explained that the other company installed the wrong wood. He took over my project even though it was risky for him to try to repair someone else's work. His stainer, Lauro, was excellent! He blended my floors so well. I wish I had hired MFD to begin with. read more

They managed to accommodate our installation schedule and our custom materials needs. Their installation team needed little supervision and performed quickly with good quality workmanship. read more

First time I used them perfect. A rating. Second time they missed the install date three times, stored materials in my living room for a month and then overcharged me by about ten percent. And indeed we found exactly what we were looking for. Eugene and Marcos manage the store and Marcos was our project manager. We found him to be very knowledgeable and accessible. Buyer beware! While the staff was polite, the price I was offered for a Stainmaster carpet installation was more than two times the price of what a well respected Palo Alto vendor quoted me and delivered on, with superb installation. The original estimate from Menlo Flooring for the carpet -- with claims that it was on sale -- turned out to be totally off. After the measurement a large additional fee was tacked on for removing the old carpet, and there was wiggle room to permit this amount to go up if the removal proved difficult -- with no willingness to quantify by time spent. Moreover there was a proposed shipping fee. Luckily I kept looking! The store I used did not tack on a shipping fee OR a carpet removal fee, and the price for the same quality Stainmaster carpet itself was considerably cheaper. I am so relieved that I kept shopping and cannot recommend this vendor, and completely wasted the time I spent with them. read more

I needed new linoleum in a bathroom, and time was tight. Mert saved the day! Also, the installer was great and he made it all look so easy. He did a nice job sealing the floor where it meets the tub so I don't think we'll be having a problem there anymore (the previous installer from a few years ago didn't do as good of a job and hence the need for replacement). We were extremely pleased with the customer service we received at Menlo Floors. Eugene was very patient in helping us navigate the extremely confusing multitude of hardwood floor options. The more samples we looked at the more confused we got. We finally settled on a custom select grade European oak floor finished in a LA factory. The installers Guven and Fernando are phenomenal professionals. They are a well oiled team, who did a beautiful job removing our existing carpet and installing the hardwood in record time. We couldn't be happier with our new floor. We had Menlo Floors put in hardwood in our hallway and office recently. We were looking for something that would match the existing hardwood in our living room/kitchen area. I visited their store in Menlo Park with photos on my phone and Eugene was attentive in helping me find something that would match. I ended taking home a sample of what we thought was the best match to give us the cohesive look we wanted. My husband and I liked how the sample looked next to our existing hardwood floors so we decided to get an estimate from Menlo Flooring. It was very easy to make an appointment to have Eugene come out to take measurements and he answered all of our questions. We were emailed the quote promptly and enjoyed working with them over email. We got several estimates and Menlo Flooring was competitive but not the lowest. We decided to use Menlo Flooring because we felt they actually cared about the craftsmanship and aesthetic component, which other places lacked. The wood that arrived at our house prior to installation was much lighter than the sample but I guess that's not unusual. The installed wood has already darkened a bit. Their installers are extremely hard workers and did their best to leave our place clean when they finished in the evenings. There were a couple of things we weren't happy with after the installation but Eugene and Mert were able to fix the issues to our satisfaction. We really appreciated that they followed through and reached out to us to fix the issues. We would have liked the option to keep the extra hardwood that weren't used in case we need to replace a few planks in the future, but other than that, we're happy with our new hardwood floors. read more
