Walked in to get my cousin a cut. Two stylists working and both almost completed with the cuts they were working on. 35 minutes to close and no one else waiting but they couldn't get him in today. As a manager I'd want to know why I took him elsewhere and he's in someone else's chair that has the same closing time. read more

I used to come here but it's been about two years. I called in and they had an opening so I took my son in for a hair and got one myself. Everything was going decent until the lady used the trimmers on my sons neck. He got some cuts in multiple places that were really painful for him. I do not like when people use thinning shears on hair. It creates a bigger problem on the grow back. I didn't notice the cuts until He took a shower that night and they turned red. He also complained of burning. I got my hair cut as well and I feel like I was extremely clear in what I wanted. I pointed out some areas and she kept using thinning shears where she was fading and made the problem worse if having hair stick out. My hair is thin as it is and thinning does not look good. I told her how I keep my hair and asked her not to comb it forward because it's common when someone makes a mistake, they just push the hair forward. I was charged for a "skin fade" for myself and my son. An extra charge for what any barber does normally. This might've been the reason I didn't come back. The lady used a straight razor on my neck line, not sure if she wasn't very confident, but she left patches on my neck of hair. My son asked me not to bring him there again. read more

I have hair that is really difficult to deal with and because of that, I have a horrible history with barbers and how they treat my hair. Each haircut I got in the past would make me feel less confident in myself and make me feel uncomfortable to talk to the people I know. However, everything changed when I wandered around and ended up going to this place. I decided to give the people here a shot and now I am making this place my go to barbershop for as long as i am in Arizona. The barbers are nice, one of the lovely ladies handed me a water bottle while I was waiting for my appointment. My barber Kenzie was also very sweet and considerate when handling my hair. Each time I leave this place, I feel great, refreshed, and confident. I would totally recommend this place. Tips: Although the barber shop allows both appointments and walk ins, these people are so popular that almost everyday is booked that walk ins are somewhat rare from what I've seen so far. If you want a haircut, plan at least a few days ahead. If I were you, book an appointment online or give them a call. Their systems are nice and easy for everyone to use. read more

They are brand new to the area and they used to be empty but now as they are getting business walk-ins are less likely. Book online. Oh and they can trim a beard right. I recently started coming here because my hair grows like weeds and needs a cut close to every month. I've requested Samatha B. every time and couldn't be happier with the results! She's careful and precise and makes sure I'm getting the haircut I want by asking questions and even throwing in some small suggestions. The last time I went in I had asked for a face shave and what she did was great! The shave is very clean and comfortable, will definitely be getting another! This is my first time to MUG and My hair stylist was Kenzie. She was awesome and she understood what I need and how that could be done with my hair. She explained in detail on how she was going to do that. She talked to me all through the process and make me comfortable throughout the process. My boyfriend walked into the store at 9:25 and they told him he couldn't get in until 4:30 PM (which we didn't think was a big deal), so we left to see if other places had availability. I called this place at 9:35 to book the 4:30 and considering she didn't realize who I was - she said they had open availability and could take my boyfriend in 5 minutes. I asked her why she told him they couldn't take him when we were just there and she got really awkward and couldn't think of an excuse. I don't know if it's because he's of Hispanic decent in a predominantly white area, but it felt personal. Next time, just be honest! read more

The newer South Power Road location is much more consistent than other places we have been and I have no complaints regarding service or quality of haircut. However, today, one stylist talked incessantly and loudly about her person business, including about her parents' divorce, difficulty with a stepson, her relationship with her husband, parents who don't get along going to jail - and similar stuff. I was in the shop late on a Sunday afternoon with my two young boys - and sorry, it was completely inappropriate. If you will offer haircuts for children, use some discretion. She was not even the stylist we were seeing - it actually is a little offensive to pay for a service while someone is sharing adult details loudly. I feel like she should be paying everyone in the room to listen to her! If her actual client was engaged in a conversation with her, that is fine but it is my sense that the person she was working with was saying very little and the whole room could hear her. She can speak to her client about whatever she wants but it is appropriate to use "her inside voice." Moreover, it was very surprising to me to learn that the person who behaved this way is actually an assistant manager. read more
