After struggling to find a consistent barber, I came across Dixie at Lady Janes and thought I'd give her a try. After only my first visit, she completely won me over, been going to her and only her for over 3 years now! Dixie is an excellent barber- shes very generous with her time and every time I go in I feel no rush from her as she is really precise and listens to what you want and always dedicated to giving the cleanest cut possible. The haircut itself is always superior to other more expensive cuts I've ever received. I've been to barbers that somehow take 10/15 mins and call the job done- Dixie isn't like this at all. She's very detailed, always brings out the razor to make sure the edges look great, and is very open to feedback! Dixie is one of the nicest and most genuine folks out there too and is always a pleasure to chat with, 100% recommended!! read more

I have been going to lady janes for years. I like them over other places like mug or sports clips because I can go in there and feel confident that my hair and beard will be taken care of. I've had some pretty sketchy hairs cuts over the last year or so at this location. One time with the lady telling me how shaky her hands were while getting ready to work on my beard. Today though I went in mainly to get my beard done. I had an older lady today one who I've never seen here. She seemed very nervous about working on my hair and apologized a couple times while working on my hair. I was trying to put her at ease but she really seemed like she was not confident working on my hair. As she was finishing up I could see that my hair did not look very good. I don't know what it takes to make my hair look good but I know when it doesn't look clean and even. I stopped her before she could start my beard. I'm not a guy who wants to complain about this sort of thing and admittedly the manager was in the building but I didn't want to make a scene . So instead I ended up driving 20 minutes to get my beard done and left with a bad haircut and the same beard. You guys gotta do better than that lady janes. I'm a long time customer of this place it would go a long way if the manager contacted me to clean up my cut but it doesn't look like they even monitor their reviews. read more

Holy Long Wait Times! My normal hair cutting expert was working at this location instead of the other location so I called, made an appointment for 10am and drove over. I arrived and waited, and waited, and waited... By the time I got my haircut and left I had been here about 2 hours... I was pretty frustrated since I called for an appointment and then didn't even get to go have lunch for the day since I was behind schedule. They need to pay more attention to appointments and not making people wait so long... Considering my review for the other location made yelp of the day today, this one is unfortunate. read more

So, the haircut was good but Jenna was rude and looked almost annoyed that she had to be there. She did not greet us, I had to say hello; Jenna did not even ask us who we were there to see or if we had an appointment. I had to ask her what we needed to do as far as sign in or what the process was. She did not give any sort of eye contact and just was not welcoming. I had heard a few times when my husband would in, that there was a not so friendly girl there and now I know who that is. Gloria on the other hand was super nice, offered a genuine smile and spoke to us in a friendly manner. Definitely should have left when the stylist, Gloria, was sitting in the waiting area onher phone. There was no one in the place and yet she still seemed bothered to give me a hair cut. Gloria was rude and was very harsh. She cut me multiple times on my scalp and completely butchered my hair. She did not know of the style I wanted and still managed to mess it up after I explained it to her. I ended up having to go to another person to fix it and they were shocked at how uneven it was. I first came to Lady Jane's last October after going from place to place all over the East Valley for a haircut over the last 3 years. I found some places that were more expensive than Lady Janes, some were less expensive. However, Lady Janes has a different vibe, a cool "guy" vibe. They offer comfortable leather chairs while you wait for a haircut if you hadn't called ahead and sports are everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE - flat screes to watch and magazines to read while you wait. The walls are covered by sports memorabilia and there are flat screens right by the chair you're getting your haircut in. I gotta say it's about the coolest, most reasonable place for a haircut in the greater Phoenix area. I also have to give a shout to Julie, a stylist at Lady Jane's. She's laid back, listens to your choice and will make a suggestion if she feels it but you're ultimately in control. Everything about Lady Jane's is designed for you to not only enjoy the experience but to entice you to come back again and again and again. This is the worst place to get a haircut. I was looking for a place close to my house, I came in here to get a fade men's haircut. I walked in and told them I wanted a fade and to not touch the top of my hair, this should've been a quick and simple cut. The lady began to cut the sides and kept trying to cut the top. After finally finishing I get up look in the mirror and notice I have a line behind my head and it's not blended my hair cut looks like an unfinished cut and they said I was done. When I to went to pay she told me $26 I handed her two twenties and expected her to give me change back. When she took my money she told me to have a good day, I had to asked for my change back. After five minutes and then final the manager came out knew I wasn't happy saw my hair cut. Bad experience beware if you go here. read more

Before today I would have given this place 5 stars but after today I won't be going back. They were 45 minutes late for an appointment with no apology. Angel who cut my sons hair did not care about being late for his appointment and was downright rude. He never cries and was crying because she refused to stop and blow the cut hair off his skin. I had to make her stop and do it and she complained that it was going to make the cut last longer. I'm only giving 2 stars because the other girls we had were always good. read more

Terrible experience at the Gilbert location today while trying to get my son a haircut. We arrived and the shop was not too busy only two customers waiting in the lobby. We signed in and selected Krista who we had worked with previously. She came and told us she would be available in about 15 mins. We waited and 30 mins later she came to tell us that she would not be able to help us today. She then offered no apology and turned her back and walked away. She made it clear that our business was not important to her and.showed no care in the fact that our time was valuable. We have been to LJ several times over the last year and have spent several hundred dollars. Never again. Krista is supposed to be in management. What a poor reflection on this business. read more

My son went into Lady Jane's last night (12/4/18) about 6:30pm for a low taper long top accompanied by a photograph of exactly what he wanted, well what he got was the opposite and absolutely awful. Romie, a small female stylist (if you can call her that) instead decided to buzz his hair with a 1 clipper attachment all the way around his whole head and thin out the hair on the top to the point it now resembles a mohawk. He complained and told her he didn't like it at all and that it was nothing like the picture and she proceeded to try to convince him that it looked good. He was understandably very upset and she knew she did something very wrong, so unbelievably and I'm sure against policy, she tried to give him a refund plus and extra dollar (hush money) out of her own pocket since apparently no one knows how or is capable of giving a refund except the District Manager, whom he is now awaiting a response from. This was not about the money, this was about getting a decent haircut. This Romie woman has no business working in an establishment where if you make a mistake, there is no way to fix it. Now he looks nearly bald for Christmas. One thing is for certain, he will never go back again, and I suggest you do the same. UPDATE: 12/7/18 The DM had still not contacted my son to get this resolved. Poor business and shady practices. Steer clear. read more

Do not recommend this place, complete disregard for the customer. I called to make an appointment but was told there was no need, to just come in and there would be no wait time. I came down immediately, within 10 mins and had to wait, for a while. Took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge my presence and then was told it would be at least another 15-20 minutes. On top of that, one to the stylists was cutting 2 ladies hair, at a male establishment. Point being if she wasn't, this further exacerbated waiting times for other customers like me. Complete lack of concern for the customer, will never patronize this business again. read more
