    Tokyo chaccha kei
    Quinn N.

We had another great experience at Mensho. I still loved the signature toripaitan and it was the reason why I came back. The noodles, broth, meat cut, everything. The Tokyo Chaccha-kei was a new item, I only wish it was less salty. Same thick toripaitan broth, the pork belly piece was heavenly good; soft but slightly charred. 2 bowls were big enough for a party of two, I'm glad we didn't order more.

Mensho is a high-end Ramen shop. They validate parking. The employees were really nice. I'm a major pork broth Ramen fan and this place really only does chicken broth so it is not for me. The group of people I was with really enjoyed it.

What a wonderful surprise of a restaurant! The service and atmosphere are amazing. It's modeled after a dojo with the staff all greeting you in unison. What a great way to engage your customers. The food was fantastic! Everything was incredible! I highly recommend this place if you're in SLC

    Garlic Knock out $26

I desperately wanted to like Mensho more than I did. We had the signature toripaitan and I also tried the garlic knock out. The protein on the toripaitan was tasty. Well cooked, fatty, flavorful. The broth was rather flavorless. It tasted like diluted pork broth. The noodles were too thick and undercooked. The garlic knock out had better depth of flavor in the broth and was my preferred out of the two but even then, ive had better ramen in town for much cheaper. I feel like for nearly $30 a bowl of ramen, it should be a knock out. Unfortunately, this wasnt the case for us. Good service, good location, and cute decor but the ramen was really lacking.

Overall service was great, modern interior, located around mixed use apartments/restaurants good vibe. I thought the food was decent but nothing that really knocked my socks off. Got the Spicy Karaage and the Signature Ramen. Flavors felt a bit...muted?! Decent portion of the karaage, crisp was nice but "spice" was a bit of a misnomer. The ramen itself was also alright. While the flavors of the meats in the broth was okay, individually they really lacked much flavor. And sliced paper thin. Felt a bit like value was severely lacking. The broth itself wasn't anything to write home about. Overall it's an alright ramen spot for cravings but I have had better broths at places without Michelin guide recommendations attached that punched above Mensho's weight class.

Easy five stars for Mensho, their ramen blew me away! I had their traditional bowl, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single ingredient was phenomenal. Each of the meats included in the dish was prepared perfectly, presented in a unique way (even more impressive given the limited real estate of the ramen bowl), and so savory. The broth was rich and creamy. The noodles were the perfect texture. The space is clean and well lit, almost industrial interior, like Japanese street stall meets brewery chic. There's seating at their bar areas near the entrance, as well as a section with tables for groups. I couldn't even make it through the whole bowl, despite my best effort. But this is a meal I'll be thinking about for a little while. Definitely a top choice for ramen in SLC!

I've been wanting to try this place, and I finally got to tonight for my birthday! It was pretty busy when we got there, with an estimated 30 minute wait, but we opted for the bar and waited maybe 10 minutes before they seated us. I love the aesthetics and clean lines modeled with the wooden structures and ceiling. All staff were dressed in Mensho uniforms, with most of the men wearing bandanas to tie together the theme and concept. Our server was friendly and attentive, explaining our food options and food when it came out. Food came quickly and we cleaned our plate and bowls! We both left satisfied! It was a little pricey, but so worth it!

Experience was mediocre. We had a long day at the national park, so a bowl of steaming hot noodle soup was top of the list. When arrived, we were greeted by friendly staffs. The interior decor was nice and dining room was clean. We had two appetizers and a ramen. The ramen soup was lukewarm, so it was a disappointment. Noodle texture was good.

Pretty happy I found this place on yelp. The ambience of this place is unique and familiar to my trip to Japan. The artful way the dishes are put together show they had an intention of the flavors and combinations that worked well. The smokiness of certain meats were there and didn't over power the broth or other flavors. Great touch btw. The noren at the entrance was another nice touch to the feel of the place. I enjoyed the food. Service was excellent with great suggestions and explained everything well. My only suggestion is add more flavor to the daikon salad. The top was great but once you ate that part there's no flavor underneath for the rest of the daikon slices.

We came here after seeing it was Michelin Guide-listed and happened to be in town, since the Houston location is usually packed. And it absolutely lived up to the hype. One of the best last minute decisions of my life it's easily one of the best ramen spots I've had. I'm usually not a big ramen fan because everywhere else would make it too salty. However, this place did it just right. We got their signature and I asked them to replace my regular noodles to green noodles for the gram lol The broth was creamy, decadent, and rich without being overly salty, which I really appreciated, yet still full of deep flavor. The eggs were perfectly melty and jammy. I wasn't a fan of the chicken, but the wagyu and other meats in the bowl were excellent. The truffle wagyu nigiri was soft and cheesy. The karaage didn't quite hit for me, it was a bit one-note and missing that umami punch, but everything else more than made up for it. We got lucky and were seated right away, though I hear there's usually a wait. The space is cute and casual, and the staff were really friendly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Enjoyed my first visit to Mensho. Kind, professional service and great atmosphere! We ordered the garlic edamame and the karaage, which was excellent. We loved the ramen we ordered; I'd say some of the best in Salt Lake City. The flavor profile was full and comfortable, and seemed more authentic than many of the more popular ramen chains. I plan to return and would recommend this spot to any ramen fans!

Their appetizers (not pictured: five different slices of meats and fried enoki are my faves) are totally worth the hype however for their ramen? Not so much. Little anticlimactic and less flavorful than I expected. The place was half empty but server is doing good with checking on us.

    Crispy enoki
    Michelle Z.

Ordered the classic ramen with the crispy enoki mushrooms appetizer. The broth was so comforting and rich! Absolutely delicious. The enoki mushrooms were very crispy and the lemon juice added freshness to it. The meal was $45 plus tips and tax. Pretty pricey for one person, but it's worth a try.

The food also comes out pretty quickly, which is always a plus. There were a couple of frustrations with this visit, though. They had flyers on the tables advertising their new Dino Ramen, and the flyer stated that you could get free ice cream with any Dino Ramen OR any other bowl of ramen. When we went to get the free ice cream, we were told the offer was only valid with the Dino Ramen and that the "any bowl of ramen" offer was only available at their other location. That was pretty confusing considering the flyer was sitting right on our table at this location. If the promotion is different depending on the location, they really need to make that clear on the flyer or not have those flyers out. Service was okay. The food came out quickly, but there wasn't much checking in afterward. We had to go out of our way to ask for things like refills or anything else we needed. Despite those issues, I really enjoy the ramen here, especially the Spicy Tonkotsu and hand pulled noodles, so I'll keep coming back. I just hope they improve the communication around their promotions and become a little more attentive with service.

We Googled this place and said let's give it a try. We walked in and to note we are not Caucasian. There were a few people people at the bar and ooh the looks we received as why are they here. However, the girl at the counter was pleasant to us when we walked in. We decided to sit inside since no one was at the tables and they were a few people outside, not buy at all and it was around 8:30pm We sat down the waitress, Asian lady was not rude but not friendly. No greeting, asked if we wanted water. She got the water, placed it down a little hard and that was that. We looked at each other and said oh lord, here we go. We sat for about 20 minutes before our order was taken. I mentioned it was not busy. Once we ordered it had taken another 20-25 to get our food and you CA. See below what we ordered it shouldn't have taken that long. Anywho, we received our food, then you can feel the Asian lady energy started to change for the better. She talked to us and was engaging. However, interesting experience. We ordered the following: Chicken Karaage - 5/5: This was good and the sauce that came along with it was good. I needed more for the amount of chicken that was given. Miss soup 5/5: it was good and not salty, just enough flavor. Salad 3/5: the salad was good, I should have ordered the salad dressing on the side, it was bit much on the salad. Shrimp tempura maki roll 5/5: fresh and good. Nice size cuts not too big or small. Veggie Maki roll 5/5: fresh and good. I would return if ever back in Utah.
