Venture off the beaten path for some delicious ramen at Koyote. It's a charming location and the exterior gives off Japanese village vibes; worth the potential hassle of having to find street parking nearby. The classic ramen was excellent, it had a great broth and LOTS of noodles. I couldn't make it through the whole bowl, but not for lack of trying. We also got shishito peppers to start, and the dish was okay. The peppers were interesting, with a smoky taste, but I didn't love the creamy sauces pooling under the peppers, and felt they were a bit overdressed with all the garnishes on top. Service was strange with the Toast app, ordering and paying through your phone -- cheapened the experience in my opinion, made it felt like more of a conveyor belt than a nice dining experience. Overall worth checking out for great ramen, see if you can come at a less busy time so that the meal doesn't feel too hectic or rushed.

Well done Japanese food. The flavor of the curry, ramen broth (American shoyu) were amazing. The gyoza and karaage were also very good. I thought the meats were a little dry in both the curry and ramen, and the noodles were a tad harder than I would've liked. I know the whipped tofu is well known, but it didn't taste like much to me and I just preferred the scallion pancakes on the side. The rice was well cooked. Easy enough to walk in with a group of three for lunch on a Friday. You order and checkout through a QR code, and then the food comes to you.

I can't seem to find the hibachi chicken pics we had, but a good place for sushi and just about anything on the menu. Never disappointed when I go here. Always seems really fresh. Servers are always nice. And the place is usually busy and I can see why. Great atmosphere.

Super good ramen. We shared the Tantan and a brown butter ramen (although I had a hard time finding that one online after we went there?) The TanTan was 10/10 I would 100% order that again and honestly probably will next time I go. The brown butter one tasted straight like butter and salt. Not my fav. They sat us outside with heaters and it was very cozy and warm. Service was great and we will be going back!

the food here was super good and surpassed any stigma I had of slc and asian food! the whipped tofu dish will live in my mind rent free forever!! loved everything except for the wings honestly.

I visited Koyote with a group of ten. We really appreciated ordering at the table. You set up a group order and then each person puts in the dishes they want. You can do separate checks at the end or split it like you want. I had the brown butter miso ramen, and added wontons and baby bok choy. This dish was delicious but did need a little heat so I got some chili oil to add. Everyone at the table also enjoyed what they ordered. I can't wait to come back and try something else. Service was great and even though it's a newer place it has the feel of an old familiar restaurant. I did notice the menu online is different than the menu you scan at the table, which makes it a little hard to preview all the dishes ahead of time.

Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Don't Skip On: The Tsukemen, whipped tofu, and melon cream soda Koyote is pretty high up there on my list of ramen places to eat. They have been consistently delivering tasty food and a great experience! If you haven't been here before, not that this isn't your traditional restaurant. While there are servers here, you order your food through the website provided via a QR code. Once the order is placed, your food is delivered to your table. You can also choose to keep your tab open or close depending on if you want more food or drinks. I absolutely love their tsukemen and highly recommend it. This is not your typical ramen that most people know of, and allows for you to dip each bite of noodles into a sauce to keep things from getting too soggy too fast. Their broth and ramen noodles were on point !! Also, don't skip on the whipped tofu. Sounds weird, I know, but it's SO good. Also do yourself a favor and get the melon cream soda. You wont regret it. The restaurant was well kept and the pricing was very reasonable. Definitely recommended for anyone liking for ramen!

I've been here twice now and gotten the tonkatsu tsukemen both times and loved it. I like a bit of spice, so when ordering with the QR code I always make sure to request a side of spice. Highly recommend doing the same and topping it on your noodles! Service is attentive, friendly, and helpful. As mentioned, you order using the QR code on the table and should expect to get your food within 10-15 minutes. Ambiance is clean, modern, and cozy. We went on a summer evening and were a bit surprised of how hot it was inside. We would've appreciated a tiny bit more air conditioning haha.

Delish! Order at the table through your phone which is easy and convenient. Our appetizers came out quickly and entrees followed in a timely manner. We had the daily Otoshi (pickled vegetables), whipped tofu (WHAT?! soooo good!), Chashu-don, Tantan-men Ramen, Gluten free Shio Ramen, and American Shoyu. We tried the Miso-Napalm because we all love spice - it's not that spicy but adds some great flavor to the broth. The only suggestion from our table was for the Tantan-men - maybe an option for less noodles and more veggies. Service was great and we will definitely be back.

Come for the ramen, come back for the apps Ordering and payment is done through QR code which is so quick and efficient. The ramen is fine - definitely a step up from many places in SLC but the apps are where it's at. Whipped Tofu - INCREDIBLE!!! Think hummus, but smoother and creamier. And the chili crunch they use on top is so good. And it comes with scallion pancakes!! (Or bread for brunch) Kaisen Don - yummmmm, I love fish over rice and this did not disappoint. They also have great vegan options for any plant based eaters out there!

definitely my go to ramen spot in slc! the japanese pancake with the tofu dip was so delicious and the ramen was savory and flavorful. add it to your list for winter dinners!

Fun to venture up to the Capitol/Hill Marmalade district to try the very buzzy Koyote. We pulled up just before it opened for dinner and there were already multiple parties waiting for the doors to open. Once inside, we admired the wood paneling, cozy booths, bright pops of color, and sprinkles of western decor. When the weather warms up, there is a spacious patio for alfresco dining. What we ordered: Whipped Tofu - Who knew I just needed whipped tofu in my life - with house-made chili crisps and plant-based mapo chili (that made me actually question if I ordered meat) plus scallion pancakes to dip and wipe the bowl clean. I'll be thinking of this dish for a long time. Hot Sake - This is a popular vending machine sake in Japan that I hadn't tried before. Sometimes hot sake on a cold Utah night just hits the spot. American Shoyu Ramen - Classic clear chicken and pork stock with straight egg noodles, smoked brisket, a soft-boiled egg, and bamboo shoots. Vegetarian Tatanmen Ramen - I wasn't aware that Koyote offered so many plant-based vegetarian options and hot dang, plant-based meats have come a long way! This sesame broth was so rich and spicy and creamy I definitely thought there was meat involved in its process. Instead of ground pork it was topped with plant-based mapo chili. Paired with the wavy Sapporo style noodles (vegan!), I was one happy customer. Perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg, green onions, scallions, and baby bok choy rounded out the dish. I did feel the entire plate was a bit overly salted but that is my only note. There is a lot of attention paid to diverse offerings - gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian are all clearly labeled and easy to customize. And a $7 kid ramen is a nice nod to the family-friendliness this city is known for. Service is - quirky. Friendly host seated us, then instructed us to scan the QR code and order from the Toast-operated online menu. Not my favorite type of restaurant interaction, but efficient. Drinks and food were brought out in a nicely-paced manner and they did check on us a couple of times, but there wasn't a lot more face-to-face time than that. I can understand that for a lunch stop, but as Koyote bills itself as a more upscale date-night destination, I'd appreciate a more service-oriented approach. All that said, I've got no complaints about more authentic Japanese establishments popping up in SLC. I will tell everyone about the whipped tofu and can't wait to return to try their other fares.

We Googled this place and said let's give it a try. We walked in and to note we are not Caucasian. There were a few people people at the bar and ooh the looks we received as why are they here. However, the girl at the counter was pleasant to us when we walked in. We decided to sit inside since no one was at the tables and they were a few people outside, not buy at all and it was around 8:30pm We sat down the waitress, Asian lady was not rude but not friendly. No greeting, asked if we wanted water. She got the water, placed it down a little hard and that was that. We looked at each other and said oh lord, here we go. We sat for about 20 minutes before our order was taken. I mentioned it was not busy. Once we ordered it had taken another 20-25 to get our food and you CA. See below what we ordered it shouldn't have taken that long. Anywho, we received our food, then you can feel the Asian lady energy started to change for the better. She talked to us and was engaging. However, interesting experience. We ordered the following: Chicken Karaage - 5/5: This was good and the sauce that came along with it was good. I needed more for the amount of chicken that was given. Miss soup 5/5: it was good and not salty, just enough flavor. Salad 3/5: the salad was good, I should have ordered the salad dressing on the side, it was bit much on the salad. Shrimp tempura maki roll 5/5: fresh and good. Nice size cuts not too big or small. Veggie Maki roll 5/5: fresh and good. I would return if ever back in Utah.

There's not a lot to choose from at the bar area, though I admit that I am pretty impressed by their ramyun collection. Their crabs were literally minuscle, and I find it extraneous that they serve their noodles in bits. Yeah, you read it right: bits. They cut up their noodles, probably because it is easier to pick up with the tongs. But, is it even noodles at that point? The staff was pretty lethargic today, even though it wasn't busy at all. Took me a while to get their attention for more meats. They do have some great meat, but in my opinion, it really is a hit or miss. Stray away from the meats that start with "MR. SHABU", because they're not the best. The ones I've had were too lean or sometimes tough. However, I think the cleanliness of this place is on point: shiny tables shiny counters, and dry floors.
