One of the perks of this place is that it opens super late, until 3AM! This review is more focused on the food we ordered! The food itself was not bad at all, but I personally felt that it tasted more of an attempt at the actual dish. We ordered the pad thai, pho, and pad see ew. Like I said the dish itself didn't taste bad, but it just didn't taste authentic. The pad thai and pad see ew were definitely on the sweeter side and the pho tasted fine but was lacking a lot of key ingredients. The staff were very friendly and the food came out fairly quick. We came around 10pm on a weekday and it was pretty empty. I do appreciate the interior and that there's plenty of parking outside. It was late around 11pm when we arrived at Salt Lake City from Las Vegas. Not much restaurant were open at that time and one of the few still open was the Toro Ramen & Best Thai. I ordered their Miso Ramen and Takoyaki as appetizer. I'm Asian and I'm very much knowledgeable how a good and authentic Ramen is. The Miso Ramen and Takoyaki was just fine, not as what I expected as it should be. My Miso Ramen was served cold and I even requested the server to have it reheated. The Takoyaki was not freshly made. The experience we had here in this restaurant was kinda disappointing. The service and ambiance were a bit better though. I don't recommend the Miso Ramen and Takoyaki in this restaurant. I would suggest If I may to make some improvements on how Miso Ramen and Takoyaki should be. Maybe some of the list on their menu are better. Try those otherwise. read more

There aren't many restaurants I consider revisiting (I get bored easily), but Toro has been my old stand by for years. I am so delighted to see them expand their menu to sushi, pho, and Thai food! The Panang curry is becoming one of my new favorites. The service here is always great, you get what you need but they don't pester you. Clean, brightly lit place with open seating and a bar now where you can watch someone make the sushi. The portions are good enough size that I always take leftovers with me, they're just as delicious the next day. It looks like they do quite a bit of takeout here. The long and short of it is, the foods tasty but overpriced in my eyes. The basic ramen starts at $16 and comes with a few basic ingredients, including some nice thick chashu, to their credit. But any add ons that may typically come with ramen, like mushrooms, is going to be $2 extra minimum.. They offer some standard sushi rolls, but they all start at something around $14, even the basic ones, do with that what you will. Small plates start at $8, which includes edamame, I don't think I've ever seen so much charged for edamame. There's a few condiments on the table, the middle one is an orange tinted oil which I believe was a chili sesame oil? It really elevated the ramen, highly recommended, I do wish they would label the bottles though. Overall, the food was good, I really enjoyed the broth in the ramen. The environment was chill, service was pretty slow but it seems they may have been understaffed the day I went and I struggled to find value in the costs when I compare to other sushi and ramen spots around the salt lake area. read more

The atmosphere was cute, cool art with ramen. They had two TV's playing Naruto and hunter x hunter, with some cool music in another language really set the vibe and made it comfortable. Wowowow first time here and I was very impressed! This ramen place is a hidden gem! I've never heard of this place I've only randomly seen it in passing and thought we would give it a shot! The only thing positive is that it is open later than any other place nearby-I blame the management for staying open late but not having the staff to support it. No, no, no. Questionable pho, non-fresh ingredients, problems with order three times (actually four, but I didn't correct it the last time), and my stomach is not feeling entirely right the next night. NOW I see other reviewers warned about getting sick on Toro Ramen food... :( I should have checked the 1-star reviews here first. Lesson learned... I'm not sure what their struggle was, the server was certainly nice and trying his best, but they looked badly understaffed, he was stressed, and I also think there were deeper problems. The night of 7 June 2025 I drove a long distance here to get pho late at night. My usual haunts (Rollz and Viet Deli) were both closed. The server had a VERY hard time understanding me, and I couldn't understand him. Ordered pork pho. Waited a LONG time. It finally came out looking good, but with very little broth compared to my experience with pho at other restaurants. I added the quite small tray of bean sprouts, lime, basil leaves in the broth, then I noticed a problem... The bean sprouts were decaying a little at the ends and middle. Definitely not fresh. My stomach can't tolerate that, it will make me sick. I tried to pick them out, but then reluctantly called the server back. He replaced the pho. This time, it came out hot again, and I was surprised to find extra meats in it, maybe they were being generous? But I realize now that it was beef and not pork, and 20 hours later my gut is informing me that something wasn't right with it. No pork in it that I could see, unless their "pork" is the spiced meatballs, which tasted good. Worse, my replacement bean sprouts looked like they had been washed by hand, very watery looking and kindof "gray," not brand new fresh bean sprouts like you would expect. But they didn't have any obvious decaying leaves at the end, and I was hungry, so I made the mistake of putting them in the pho and eating them. Maybe the sprouts are the problem I'm feeling today. (Note: even fresh sprouts can be dangerous, make sure you put them in VERY hot broth to kill foodborne bacteria.) Then I noticed that they didn't bring out any basil leaves. So I asked the waiter for some, he couldn't understand me, I had to enter words into a translator to get help. Basil leaves were finally brought out, but they were not on the stem, and they were definitely NOT fresh again: they had black spots all over them, which I've never seen before on "fresh" basil. Then I realized that they didn't bring out a lime as they did the first time, and I gave up trying to correct the order because it took a long time each time around. I tipped the waiter anyway (at the lowest preset level--20%), because these poor servers need to survive somehow, and he was at least trying his best. BUT OVERALL, I will definitely not go back here for food. Not safe for me at least, and not enough of it, and not accurate enough, and some of the veggies were not fresh. read more

Personal experience: I can't complain about this place! Came with another friend here and absolutely loved the experience! Do keep in mind while coming here that it is a small place! So, the seating tends to be kinda close to others! And I loved the interior of this place! Food: I ordered a Veggie Ramen and I absolutely loved it! Not a lot of ramen places serve Veggie ramen and loved the noodles and the broth! And they served it with some tofu! I would be careful with the chili oil because it was pretty spicy even for me! We were able to get a table right away & service quickly. We ordered the Croquette's to share. I've never had these. They were like a deep fried mashed potato type appetizer with some veggies in it. They were delicious! I'll be looking for these on menus from now on. We shared an avocado roll as well. The avocado roll was so fresh. One of my favorite avocado rolls I've ever had. They brought us some complimentary egg rolls & these were good. I really liked the dipping sauce for these. I ordered the veggie ramen. I loved this ramen! One of my favorites I've had,  honestly. The miso broth was flavored to perfection. The shiitake mushrooms had really good flavor. Sometimes I'm a little weird with mushrooms in my ramen, but I really liked these mushrooms. I wish it came with a full egg, but I suppose I could have added in an extra egg. The ramen bowl was decent size for the price paid. Loved that they didn't skimp out on the broth as well. Sometimes I feel like I run out of broth for my ramen, which is the worst. My friend ordered the Taro Ramen with tonkotsu broth and beef short ribs. She enjoyed this dish as well. Nothing to write home about. Soft boiled egg is not marinated nor creamy at the center, original ramen has no other ingredients besides chashu, egg, and corn that a typical bowl would have (menma, sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, pickled radish, etc.), tonkatsu broth was a bit thicker and cloudier than usual, chashu slices were soft enough but chewier and did not melt in your mouth. Luckily they do offer 3 types of noodle options. But you know, even bad ramen is still satisfying in a weird way. Service was very slow. Tbh there was only one server for the whole joint but also i got my bowl and it was just above tepid. I tried paying and it seemed like their kiosk was down or something. Who knows but it took a long time to get the food and then pay. They also have japanese sushi and thai food and though it's not their fault because it appears that almost every Utah Asian restaurant does this but. All these cuisines are so different from each other so much so that I don't know what I'm more mad at: the fact that it's all lumped together and none of the cuisines are even above average or that they overlooked the umpteen other Asian cuisines they could have squeezed into the menu and cooked in a mediocre fashion. This was my second time coming here, and I am genuinely very impressed by this spot. There are a few ramen spots closer to me, but they can be quite expensive. Toro has a super simple menu, with more than decent prices, and everything tastes incredible. The restaurant itself is clean and the service is quick. Their broth has an incredible depth of flavor. The add-ins/toppings are fresh. The noodles are the perfect texture. Not sure what else you can ask for when eating ramen, honestly. The appetizers are also very good, but in no way the star of the show. It is not overly busy here, so I would 100% recommend stopping in and trying them out! read more

I had Karai Ramen with mixed broth, Tonkotsu and Shoyu. The soup had a very pungent garlic aroma and there was some black garlic in the broth. I enjoyed that. My wife had the Chashu Ramen and it was loaded with Chashu, there were six large pieces of it in her bowl. She gave me one since mine didn't come with Chashu. They had an interesting table condiment that looked like regular crushed red chilis but it had another flavor that I couldn't identify. It was interesting and not nearly as spicy as I was expecting based on how it looked. I wish I could get a sample of several different Ramen places broth and do a side by side comparison because it's hard for me to say which one I like best. UPDATED REVIEW- Avoid Toro Ramen at all costs. My kids and I all became severely sick after eating their pork belly ramen. Symptoms started within a few hours, which aligns with foodborne illnesses like Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) or Bacillus cereus, both of which can cause sickness within 30 minutes to 6 hours after eating. When I called to notify the restaurant, the manager dismissed my concerns, claiming, "You can't get sick after three hours of eating," which is completely false. Their lack of accountability and concern for customer safety was shocking. If we end up needing medical care, they will absolutely be responsible for covering the hospital bills. After further research, I found many other reviews describing similar experiences of getting sick after eating here. This seems to be a recurring issue. Adding to this, Toro Ramen has a history of health code violations. They have been cited for issues such as improper food handling and lack of cleanliness in their kitchen. This is public record and should be a serious warning to anyone considering dining here. The owner's dismissive attitude, combined with these violations, shows a lack of accountability and respect for customer safety. The food wasn't even good, and the risk is not worth it. Decent ramen for a decent price. We were recommended this spot by a local because it's less busy. This location is pretty small, but it's surrounded by a ton of parking. Our group of 4 had no problem getting a seat, 6:30 on a Saturday. Although we asked for a table for 4, we were giving 3 menus, sets of chopsticks, everything. We weren't given the last set until about 30 minutes of waiting. The menu is nice- giving noodle options, broth, and even some Korean foods. Most places you have to ask for substitutions, but this ramen is very customizable. I ordered the regular ramen ($12), with a side of egg and side of kimchi. It took almost 25 minutes to receive our food after ordering. There looked to be a TON of take out orders ahead of us. No biggie. They try to bring out everything at the same time. I think that is why my ramen, unfortunately, came out lukewarm. My friend said the gyoza was decent. Ramen was decent... blend broth not as flavorful as I'm used to. I saw my kimchi on the counter, waiting to be served for 10 minutes. I wasn't served the kimchi until midway through my ramen. It was good, not my favorite... great kick. The only issue I had with the service was that our young waiter had his airpods in the entire time. Felt a little disrespectful. Toro used to be a ramen and sushi spot, and I absolutely LOVED their ramen. However, calling them the "best Thai" is a massive overstatement--frankly, it's just not true. When they focused on sushi and ramen, I recommended them all the time. So, as a huge Thai food fan, I was excited when they expanded their menu to include Thai dishes. I decided to try their green curry with tofu... but what arrived at my table was NOT green curry. It was simply rice, green curry sauce, tofu, and cucumbers--nothing else. Confused, I flagged down the waiter and asked if my dish was missing ingredients like green peppers, bamboo shoots, and other veggies. She looked just as puzzled and said, "No, that's just how we make it." I asked to see the menu again, pointed out the listed ingredients, and explained that what I received didn't match. That's when she admitted they were out of most of the ingredients and asked if I wanted to order something else instead. I ended up getting a Vegas roll, which was pretty good. But if you're craving Thai food, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere--because they clearly don't know how to make curry, let alone good curry. Cute little ramen shop with super friendly staff. We got Karai Ramen and the Original Ramen with Blend flavor. The original blend was creamy and were very generous with the amount of pork given. The Karai was smooth and rich, spice was mild but still very good. Eggs were cooked perfectly for both bowls. The staff was very friendly. There were about 6 tables including ours with 1 waiter and she was speedy and on top of everything, not to mention all while handling so many door dash orders as well. Don't think my water was never not filled up. seating was well spaced out and staff were still wearing mask. Made the drive out to this fort union gem to meet a friend for lunch and it didn't disappoint. Service was great, portions were on the larger size and there was plenty of parking. First let's start with the menu. Pictures for everyone. I hear this a lot. People want to see pictures and this place has them. Thank you. Atmosphere and service , simple and not overbearing. There are about dozen tables and service was fast and great, even though there were several orders going for takeout. We had the dumplings-classic. 5 came in an order and we ate them fast. Toro ramen comes with short rib which I thought was a unique twist on traditional ramen. It's was tender and surprisingly easy to eat with lots of flavor. You can choose what broth you want and got the blend. When you can't decide, blend it. My friend tried the spicy ramen, which is how she compares ramen joints. She said it was good, top of her list but that Tosh Ramen still comes on top. This place definitely has Tosh on portions. Very large bowls with the coolest spoon (ladle) to slip your broth with.
