Very affordable, generous & tasty place for lunch. We've been coming here almost weekly whenever my kids ask for it. We've tried many diff dishes but these 4 are our fave! Lunch comes with 1 choice of soup & 1 egg roll. The lady there is always very pleasant, which is a plus.

My family, boyfriend and I would frequent Magic Wok, the previous restaurant here for lunch specials or just dinner. I was surprised to see that they are now Szechuan Impression but looked at their menu online and saw that they offer similar offerings but expanded on their menu too! I love the additions of Szechuan dishes and they have a lot more spicy options too! My boyfriend and I got a lunch special on May 12, I called to make a take out order and was put on a quick hold before getting my order taken by a nice, professional lady. I got the sliced fish delight lunch special while my boyfriend got the cashew chicken lunch special. We both got fried rice but I got hot and sour soup while he got egg flower soup. The food was ready at the estimated time of ten minutes. The inside according to my boyfriend has not changed and remains as it did when it was run by Magic Wok. The food was seasoned much better than Magic Wok and the portions were definitely bigger. I really enjoyed the different types of vegetables in my dish and they used ginger and garlic too! My boyfriend was used to how Magic Wok used to make the cashew chicken but he said it was pretty good here too but just a little spicier for his taste. We are definitely looking forward to coming back to try more of their new and traditional dishes! Edit: We came back to try their other lunch specials and the flavors were consistent and delicious as before. I did also notice that the lunch specials this time came with egg rolls which was pleasant and hope that will continue to be an addition as they were yummy!

I was pretty suspicious of this place. A couple reviews are from California and sorry, it's just never realistic for Californian's to be the first to review something in small town Washington. Also, the review count is low which is typically never a good sign either. I'm familiar with the area. I reviewed the burger spot across the street, as well as the Mexican place next door to this and the other Mexican spot across the way. I also recall Godfathers Pizza being in this lot which is now a Karate spot. The drug store and Grocery store have also closed here, which speaks to how slow the local economy is. OK, Service was friendly, but it was slow. Several people were waiting for take out and we waited far too long to get our menu. Also took too long to take our order which isn't good considering we were the only dine in customers. If you haven't guessed, once our order was taken, it took too long for the food to come. We were there for lunch and it was legit 10 minutes before we even got our soup, but the soup was delicious. I had the Mongolian Beef. It was flavorful, but a little sweet, not overly sweet, but sweeter than I care for. I know some places add sugar, but I think it tastes better without it. If I wanted sweet, I'd order something known for a sweet sauce. The rice was a bit dry, but some places don't have fresh rice at lunch, it's warmed up from the night before. Not sure if that was the case here, but it wasn't soft or fluffy. Listen, overall, the place was better than I expected it to be, yes, a few small changes and this could be 5 star, but the people are friendly, and the prices are fair. The portions were not massive as some said, but again, we had lunch and the lunch price is lower, so we certainly got our money's worth. This area is really out of the way, but there are so few Chinese places, This is probably the best place within 30 minutes of me, so I'm sure we'll be back at some point. Again, hardworking honest people who I am sure are doing their best to provide excellent food. Speed up the service and dial back the sugar and you got yourself a hot spot!

The quality of the food here is absolutely amazing! I have been to a lot of places that serve this kind of food and let me tell you!!! This place is worth every penny, the food was super fresh and delicious, a lot of flavor in every bite. I highly recommend this place !!!

Szechuan Impression Lost a very good customer who spent hundreds of dollars there. So my husband and I loved this place. We made pick up orders regularly without any trouble until today. We usually order our pickup orders on the restaurant's preferred platform, and today was no different. But the preferred platform had recently changed to a new one and my husband noticed that when it came time to pay online he couldn't. The app said "Please pay at the restaurant". Never has that happened before but it was no big deal because we had cash. When he arrives, they hand him the order and tell him "Have a nice day". He stops them and says "Don't I have to pay you? The App said pay in store" to which they reply "No No prepaid prepaid" So he leaves. A little confused but none the less, he comes home, we eat, and then his phone is being blown up by the restaurant saying "you didn't pay" (Screenshot below). First off, he tried to pay, the person working the cash register told him he didn't need to. Now, this typically wouldn't be a big deal, We could chalk it up to a misunderstanding BUT the way they spoke to him when he tried to call back and get things settled was so unprofessional, accusatory, childish, you could use pretty much any synonym for a less than smart person and that would be applicable to the way they approached the situation (A SITUATION THAT THEY CAUSED.) While he was on the phone with them, they tried to get him to give his credit card information over the phone.....UM, Excuse me? WHAT?! He was more than willing to go in and have a face to face discussion but no they strictly wanted credit card details but Thankfully he wasn't born yesterday so, All this to say Szechuan Impression, you really need to get it together with your customer service and all around incompetence. Until we get an apology, we will never be ordering your food or recommending your restaurant to anyone.

Had previously had takeout once since the new opening, and today was my first time dining in. Got the lunch special both times and they've both been legitimately excellent. For dine in I got the beef with string beans, asked them to make it a little spicy, and it came with soup and a spring roll. Every part of the meal was extremely good, and the price of $12 was somehow even better. 10/10 experience

Not sure why I never heard of this place. Owner said they have been open for 3 years now. The food came out fast. We actually ordered too much we had it for three more meals at home. I think overall the food was good. Like I was telling the owner I normally drive to Canada to get Chinese food, or San Fran for dim sum. I'm pretty hard to please. But since I like to support local, I'll bring my friends here another time for lunch. The decor was minimal but nice. From the outside it looked like it was closed, and like it was a home or doctors office. It's right next to a bikini barista. So we missed it the first time. It's a brick building. The tea was really good. The perfect amount of Chinese leaves, and it was nice and hot for a cold blistery day even if it's almost spring.

First picture was a take-out order I placed a couple weeks ago, noodles were great! Spicy seafood noodle was a bit bland for my taste 2nd picture was yesterday. I came by for a quick dinner. I came back because I really like the black bean noodle, the noodle came with a generous amount of black bean sauce and coat the noodle very well. I like how there is a nice balance between meat and veggie inside the sauce, the thickness is great and esp the color is dark!! I ordered the combo this time, the pork was coated nicely and deep-fried thoroughly but didn't make it dry at all! The sweet and sour sauce is well balanced. I will definitely come back when my crave kicks in again :)

The sign at the entrance still indicated that the restaurant was open. We inquired if it was acceptable to enter, and the lady at the front glanced at the clock before responding affirmatively. After receiving our tea and menu, when we placed our order, the lady informed us that the meal would take 15 minutes to prepare and questioned whether we would finish by 9 PM. Her demeanor was notably unwelcoming. Consequently, we were limited to ordering only items that could be prepared quickly, as we needed to exit precisely at 9 PM. It would have been more appropriate for her to advise us to go order only. I will not return. My previous experiences under the former owner were much more pleasant. Sadly we left without ordering anything. They seem to not care for our business.

We love that Magic Wok stays open just a bit later than other places as our schedule gets hectic and we usually don't have time until later in the evening. Every time we come here, we are greeted by who I presume is the owner as she is always there to greet and serve us each time we visited. She is always very polite and is very quick, which I appreciate as we are usually hungry and want to put in our order fast as well as coming in usually an hour or half an hour before close so we don't want to keep them long. The dining area is very nice with several tables that can accommodate large or small groups are available. If you come in alone or just a party of 2 then they usually seat you at one of their three booths. I love that they play classical music as it is fitting to listen to and I personally love it. Each table has a soy sauce dispenser, sriracha, salt, black pepper, and now they also have hot chili oil! They also have an amazing complimentary tea that I cannot stop sipping and it is just the perfect way to balance whatever you ordered. We usually order to the lunch specials during lunch and dinner specials (either individual or family depending on how hungry we are)! They are always filling as they always come with a soup of choice, fried rice or white rice and an entrée of your choice. So far we have tried the BBQ pork, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, wonton soup, orange chicken, general tsos chicken, steamed vegetables with chicken/shrimp, honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, almond chicken, sweet and sour chicken/pork, shrimp with lobster sauce, cashew chicken, BBQ pork fried rice, house special chow mein, lover's fried rice, broccoli beef, moo shu chicken, and mapa tofu. We have always enjoyed our meals and don't really have complaints. I really love their stir fried dishes more so than their fried dishes, but I also just don't particularly like fried food. The fried rice they offer for the meals is also great and does include BBQ pork and everyone that I have taken here has agreed that they have the best side fried rice. Additionally, they have probably one of the lowest prices in Federal Way especially for their lunch specials that goes from Monday to Saturday. Magic Wok always hits the Chinese food cravings and definitely worth your money. Another cute perk about dining here is that they give you a very cute and helpful calendar for the new year when you come in any time in January. My only small complaint is that you don't get checked on often depending on how busy the restaurant is or if they are eating food too, but that's understandable. It's just I always want more of their tea or need napkins, so I always make sure to ask ahead of time so that she comes back. Additionally, some times there is a temperature difference but they will be happy to fix it if you ask politely. Take out here is pretty quick and I don't think I have ever seen them be pushed back on orders and ensure that food is ready at the exact estimated time. There's a reason why Magic Wok has been around for so long and I hope that continues!
