Really great place that I didn't know was open for 10+ years in Federal Way! I also found this place by accident since I wasn't sure of where to eat on a Friday night around 9pm. Since it was late, the place had several tables filled but wasn't a full house. There's tons of tables for groups of 2+ people, and I got seated immediately. Inside is brightly lit and very casual. With all my usual first visits to Vietnamese restaurants, I got their Thai tea and their grilled beef short ribs rice plate. That tea was standard and took a little while to prepare since staff had a bunch other delivery orders to fill throughout the night. The rice plate itself was tasty; the grilled beef short ribs looked burnt but still tasted as if they had all the seasoning as I like, and the meat still pulled off the bone easily, so it definitely wasn't overcooked. The rest of the plate is very standard but satisfying in my books. It was also quite nice chatting with the staff a little bit too on some of the dishes. This is a place I'd recommend for some good food, and they're also open slightly later compared to most other places around their vicinity, so it's also a decent choice for if you want foods little later than usual. The pho here is something special - if you really like a good, clean pho broth, this is the place for you! I'm a saucy type of pho girl so I have to admit, I can't help but drench my bowl with every condiment available. Almost five years later, and I'm back with another five star review update! I used to live really close to Pho Kim so I was able to dine in pretty frequently, but I've since moved a little farther away. Thankfully, my current address is still within bounds to order delivery from Pho Kim! Every time we order pho for delivery, it's a toss up whether we'll order from here or another place that's closer. There's really no rhyme or reason, as both places are REALLY good, so it usually comes down to who has the shortest delivery time. The pho broth from here is some of my absolute favorite and it has NEVER wavered. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with fatty meat or anything like that, either. Their spring rolls are also incredibly fresh with lots of veggies which is one of our favorite apps to order if we have the appetite for it. So glad that Pho Kim is still thriving! read more

Ordered door dash, just so you'll have perspective. I ordered a large pho with brisket and meatballs for $17.00. It wasn't good and they didn't even give me a whole meatball for the additional $1.00 charge. The soup was very oily and the amount of soup was for a small - they even put it in a small bowl container. I won't be ordering from here again...I know times are getting hard but I used to spend $5 for a large pho and I'd get a lot of food. Now we are getting charged a significant amount more for less. We were looking for a place to eat in the evening and decided to look for a place offering fall. We found this place and noted it to be located just off of the road. Upon walking in, it looks like a hole in the wall and rundown looking place, but with a blaring phone, lively atmosphere, busy, and a shortstaffed situation. It took them a few minutes to get a seated and bring us some menus, which I think mostly was due to being busy with orders on DoorDash, restaurant orders, and having a small staff. I don't think it had to do with them being slow or having poor service. Service was friendly when we did encounter it. It was reassuring to see they had hoisin sauce, chili, and sriracha. Order the shrimp spring rolls ($9) and #14 sliced eye round steak and meatballs ($14). Spring rolls were standard and good. Peanut sauce wasn't too sweet. Holy smokes! I've had Pho at probably a couple hundred different Pho restaurants all over the US and Canada and all over the Puget Sound, this is a special bowl of Pho! I contemplated going elsewhere but that would mean having to look for another place and then driving there. Remember, I wasn't feeling well. Greeted and was invited to take any seat. Odd for me to be saying that about service at a Vietnamese restaurant as I'm used to the lack of at the joints by me down in Southern California's Little Saigon. Food just wasn't good. I got a grilled chicken vermicelli and eggroll plate. The chicken was cut so small it was like a side salad. Also the chicken seemed old and pre-made. Was barely half a breast ot thigh of meat amd what was there was cut into tiny strips so thin i coulf almost see through them. The fish sauce was obviously watered down, the lettuce was iceberg lettuce and they overloaded it with that and sprouts. Barely any vermicelli noodles too.The egg rolls were also obviously not fresh and microwaved too. I ordered from Pho Kim as I was battling a stubborn sinus infection. I'd tried everything, meds, tea, rest, you name it. Nothing was cutting through the pressure. But then came the steak pho. Let me tell you... this bowl did more for me than anything from the pharmacy. The broth was rich, perfectly seasoned, and full of depth. Every sip felt like it was clearing out the fog in real time. There are a lot of sub par pho shops out there, but this is the real deal. Right up there with Vien Dong's in Tacoma. They don't cheap out on the condiments like some places who give you one plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime and cilantro for 2 servings. The broth is rich and flavorful, and loaded with collagen. A good pho like this is the best food ever when you are sick (or a bit hungover.) I wasn't going to leave a review, but this is the third time they've disappointed me. The first time I ordered to-go and the broth spilled because of the container they used. The second time the broth was extremely oily and didn't taste good. And the third time I paid $21 for a can coke and a "small"pho that was supposed to come with everything, but it only had tendon, tripe, and steak, and it barely had any of it. We came here for the first time because our normal go to spot was closed in Auburn. The pho here was good, the broth was legit and tasty to the point where I finished my broth, nothing went to waste. We also ordered shrimp spring rolls and the beef spring rolls and it was fresh and not dry like other places the spring roll sauce was good and chunky (I hate it when it's watery). The service from the owners and staffs were great I loved how they served their cups cold and we had our own bottle of water for our table, they checked in to see if we wanted to order anything else. So I've been going here for about a year. Food is good but I came in here yesterday ordered a side of spring rolls and took a bite out of one of them and my daughter told me there's a bug on it. A fucking roach on its back wiggling his legs. I was shocked . Should have taken a picture of it. I try to get the guys attention and I'm Waiting for him to look at me, little do you know I see another roach crawling on the table!!! They might've got the best pho tofu and veggies here in the souf end. Broth is vegetarian and the tofu is your protein. With ample amount of veggies, you're sure to be full off of a small bowl. One of my least favorite take out experiences with Pho. I got sick a few weeks ago and couldn't go to work for a week, so my husband was kind enough to pick up some pho for me. After doing some research on pho spots here on Yelp, I noticed that Pho Kim had great reviews and also happened to be close to my home. Unfortunately I was really disappointed. As can be seen in the photo, I received a full box of the pho noodles, chicken and the toppings but my broth was only about halfway full - not nearly enough for my pho! I had to warm up my own chicken broth that I had and add to the broth. Also, the chicken meat was supposed to be chicken breast - the meat I received looked and tasted straight up like deli meat that you put on sandwiches. It had no remote resemblance to real chicken breast. And on top of that, a lot of my meat looked discolored, so I didn't even end up eating all of it since that was a big turn off for me.
