Been here several times before. I've been paying a lot more attention to the tea lattes I'm being served, and I mention that because what I experienced today may actually be consistent with previous visits. The place is still as cute as ever, and the staff are very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, their lattes come across more like warmed milk with foam on top. The temperature and flavor were good, but the texture below the foam was flat. Maybe I need to request extra frothy next time. I also had a chance to try one of their specialty pastries, the Fig Kurabiye. That was amazingly good. They warmed it up a bit, and it was moist and delicious. Like the best Fig Newton you'll ever have. Next time, I would definitely ask for an upgrade if ordering a latte. read more

I will give the second review a two. I was looking so forward to having my leak and potato soup. I couldn't believe I could be more disappointed! For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to put it in a blender and it turned it into mush. I've made it before, and the leaks and the potatoes were pretty much whole. It was also very bland like I guess baby food would be!! So I will be staying away from their soups! read more

I met friends at Cafe de Arts for brunch two weeks ago; it was my first visit there, and I was absolutely charmed with the eclectic, arty decor in this coffee shop. I mean, I fell in love instantly! Soft jazz music only enhanced everything. Our server was a very pleasant young woman, who answered our questions, and brought our food and coffee drinks quickly. I also had the chance to chat with one of the owners, a delightful woman, who was happy to tell me about a few of the artworks I found especially interesting. Two of my friends had the Art of the Egg sandwich, the other had the Art of the Veggie sandwich, and all three said their selections were delicious. I selected the Turkish borek as my entree, and it was SO good with its flaky phyllo crust and spinach and feta filling, and it was accompanied by the cafe's signature side salad with apples and berries and dressed lightly with a vinaigrette. And I firmly believe the hot latte with a shot of almond flavoring was the best I have ever had - so creamy, with a perfect head of foamed milk on top. Wow. We happened to be passing through Waukesha (on a Monday) and stopped at Cafe de Arts and were not disappointed! We started with coffees. I got a hot, coconut milk latte with toffee and WOW. As a coffee aficionado, this was the best latte I've ever had. Next up with had breakfast and wow again. Mediterranean breakfast sandwich. Full of feta, herbed egg, peperocinis, and ham on a soft but toasty cibiatta (spelling?) bread. The sandwiches were served with a simple lettuce salad with strawberries, apples and oranges. YUM. The employees were SO kind and confident that we would love our meals. Which we absolutely did. We left with homemade pastries and the sweet man at the counter gave us one at no charge as a happy birthday gift to my husband. I wish we lived closer but we will definitely be back!!! read more

Was in town for a job and stopped in to grab a quick bite. Never been here before, saw the chicken pesto panini online and decided to drop in. It was already almost 2pm and they were closing but the lady was nice enough to serve me anyways. I don't usually drink coffee but I wanted a nice beverage with the sandwich and she recommended their latte of the month. It was the Iced Churro Latte. I tried it while waiting for my sandwich and it was hands down the best coffee I've ever had in my life. Such a deep rich flavor from the coffee, and a subtle hint of cinnamon sugar. I've never tasted such high quality coffee. I didn't even realize I liked coffee until I tried this. And then I got the chicken panini and it was fantastic. Very good light sandwich, perfect quick bite. But the reason I'm writing this review 7 months later is because I cannot stop thinking about that coffee. I do not live in Wisconsin so I can't come to get it again but I've been chasing that flavor ever since, going to damn near every coffee shop in my city trying to find something with a little resemblance but nothing can even come close. I've wasted so much money on coffee that I can't even drink because it tastes nothing like that Churro Latte I had here. The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that it seems to have been a limited edition one month only run on that flavor, so I'm not missing out cause it's not available anyways. read more

We took my Mom here for breakfast on her 80th birthday. They were so kind helping us and accommodating her wheelchair. They also gave her baklava with a candle in it which was a wonderful surprise. In addition to the incredible service, the coffee and food were outstanding! We even ordered bakery to go which was absolutely delicious. This place is worth it! read more

I had the art outsider with a croissant rather than the rye bread and it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Flavor was amazing. There is a small kitchen in the back and it's clear they are making everything fresh. Every breakfast sandwich comes with a fruity side salad that also has great flavor. My son got the Dada toast which was also very good. I've had different coffee drinks from them as well all have been great and I'm particular about coffee. The people working are all very kind and you can tell they take pride in their restaurant. The inside is a peaceful place to eat or do work if you have to get stuff done while enjoying good food. This has been a favorite since I was in high school when they were also in their old location. I should be intentional about stopping by more frequently because I always have such a great experience when I stop in. It's always so busy, but not in an overwhelming way, since there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The owners are always so friendly and welcoming, which I absolutely enjoy. Great selection of coffee, bakery items, and breakfast/lunch options - you can't really go wrong with anything. I have visited Cafe De Arts many times and I am always impressed by both the food and the service. The owners are incredibly friendly and they're really efficient. I normally go for an iced chai latte with almond milk and some kind of pastry. Their blueberry muffins are good, but the baklava and kurabiye are divine. You really can't get treats like that anywhere else in the area. The inside of the coffee shop is so cozy. They play some great music (lots of instrumentals) and they really managed to fit a lot of seating in such a small place without it feeling too cramped. The patio right outside the front door is also great, but it can get a little loud when traffic starts to pick up in the morning. Cafe De Arts is also a very clean restaurant - the tables both inside and outside are always wiped down and the bathrooms are very tidy. If you visit during peak hours, parking can be pretty difficult. There are a few spots along the side of the building, but you might have to park on the street. But if you ride a bicycle, you shouldn't have any problems - they have a nice little bike rack out front so you can chain up your bike while you grab a quick bite to eat. It would be so cool if they made some new merch for this place. I'd love a t-shirt or a mug with just their little sun/face peaking out over the top of the coffee cup and the name of the business. It's such a unique logo and I think it can stand for itself - no need for the "get roasted" tagline. I get the pun that they're going for with the whole "get roasted" thing (like roasting coffee beans...you know the vibe), but personally I don't think it is consistent with the overall feel of the coffee shop - everything is pretty mellow and relaxing inside. One thing that is super cool about Cafe De Arts is the massive mural on the side of the building. It really makes the coffee shop stand out. Whenever I meet up at Cafe De Arts with a friend, I always tell them to look out for the tan house with the huge coffee cup/flower mural on the side. This coffee shop is really a great marker for the area. If you're thinking of trying Cafe De Arts, I would highly recommend stopping by. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is, hands down, my favorite coffee shop/cafe. I am actually hesitant to share a review because I want to keep it for myself! I would never do that though - the owners are far too kind and the coffee and food far too good to not share and recommend most highly! Starting with the decor, it is fun, a little bit funky without in any way being anything but tasteful. There are beautiful lamps hanging from the ceiling that set the stage for elegance without being stuffy at all. The rest of the inside is equally appealing and welcoming. Speaking of welcoming, I am not able to visit as often as I would like because I'm not in Waukesha, but EVERY time I walk in, the owner greets me and treats me like I am an old friend he is glad to see again. There is a genuine passion and well-earned pride in the place they have created and offer to the public. Now, onto the coffee. I am generally a "coffee with a little cream" type of person and that is what I get here. I have previously worked in food service and as a supervisor in a coffee shop or two - I have had a LOT of different kinds of coffee. With that in mind, their coffee is excellent. Full stop. I can't speak to their specialty drinks as I have been too pleased with the coffee to try them, but I am confident that they are also excellent. As far as the food goes, I have two words: Carrot Cake If they served nothing but the homemade carrot cake, I'd give their menu an A. It is the very best I've ever had. They don't always have it. (If I have been there before you, I certainly bought an extra slice to take home - sorry, not sorry.) The oatmeal, sandwiches are also excellent. My bottom line for this review is as follows: If you are in (or passing by) the Waukesha area and want to enjoy some time in a true coffee shop, put their address in your GPS and go here. A few of us were wanting to get out of the office so we came here for a lunch meeting. The interior was beautifully done, nicely decorated and excellent use of space. We ordered croissants, and I was happy to learn that they serve breakfast sandwiches through lunch time. My egg, cheese, and vegetable croissant was really delicious, one of the best croissants I have ever had. It was served with a small salad with very sweet dressing, a little too sweet for my preference. But the ingredients were fresh, next time I would request a different dressing. A friend and I stopped there on a whim ... when we walked in, we weren't sure if they just had some pastries, or a menu ... the woman behind the counter was very welcoming ... she saw our confusion and immediately assured us there was a menu! Boy are we glad we stayed!!! Service was phenomenal and the food was spectacular ... very (clean!) eclectic establishment with what appears to be artwork by local artists adorning the walls. (probably one of the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in this type of setting!!!). They have a cute outside patio that we are anxious to enjoy once the weather cooperates! I was excited to have found this place since there not that many coffee shops in the area (I got spoiled living in Walker's Point with all my options just a couple of blocks from my doorstep). Cute coffee shop with lots of options for seating inside and outside. We were greeted immediately when we walked in, I think by the owner. Very nice and eager to help and please us. We ordered the European breakfast sandwich, latte and iced coffee. The baguette for the sandwich was toasted perfectly and the sandwich overall was good. The coffee however was weak; both the iced coffee and latte. My iced coffee tasted like water with some coffee flavoring. My husband said his latte was not much better. Unfortunately, if you are going to be a coffee shop (they roast their own beans as well), you gotta have good coffee! It's too bad the coffee wasn't better as this place has potential. read more

While in town visiting relatives my sister brought us to this local cafe for breakfast. The staff is super friendly at this cozy place with a fun decor. We opted to eat indoors though they have a small deck out front. We ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches and they were excellent with very fresh and nicely dressed side salads. The sandwiches had very good flavor with nice sauces. Delicious. Everything was reasonably priced. When back in town I'd love to eat breakfast here again. read more
