My Bmw e46 broke down in Merced! My luck and the only place available for my car was volkswagen Merced car dealer, with alot of doubt I was concerned in taking it in this place, being it not my car manufacturer. To my surprise they fixed it..... it was an electrical problem but also it had generated more sensors to go off (hmm moment) the had said my abs light was on plus rotor sensor, also my headlight was not working I was glad to have it just working and taking it out of Merced, before I left with all my problems, the mechanic from the corner very suspiciously eyeing the car and seeing the owner ( let me remind you i had my girlfriend take it in and we'll some girls don't know about cars) and the sales person telling me to trade it in for a brand new volkswagen and telling me my car had problems I had said no thanks took it and left. Well that's not end of story it wasn't a happily ever after. I am mechanically savy and when it comes to major problems I give it to an expert. My little basic knowledge showed that a sensor was ripped out with a resistor in its place a screw missing for my headlight causing it to false my hood line where u hold and pull was cut a malet hiton the hood latch for it not to open, frustrated I have fixed each thing as I find it recommend NEVER GO TO THUS PLACE FOR A REPAIR they may be nice and sell but are shady in their business of repair. The service is horrible. Bobby looks like he hates his job. He is rude and doesn't really try and communicate. I always take in my boyfriends car in for an oil change and he doesn't even smile. I have not once seen him smile since I've been going there. My boyfriend has a VW 2016 TDI. I love the car but the service sucks. Sales went fine until it was time to get it detailed. That's when it all went downhill. So Kia and Hyundai work hand in hand, salesmen/women work for both. I got my appointment for detailing for 3:30pm, got their by 3pm, was told 2hours tops and we will call you when it's done. They offered to take me somewhere using the courtesy van, okay fine I went to the mall. After 2 hours had gone by I got a bit worried and called where I had left the car, and was told it was already too late the drivers and courtesy vans were locked up, and basically I was out of luck. Here I am stranded at the Mall and I said nope this is not my problem someone needs to get me. I was told it wasn't their problem either, it wasn't until I asked the salesman at Hyundai "Do you really want me to walk from the mall to your dealership to get my car?" He says well I have to stay late and blah blah about selling cars...I go I dont' care I am stuck at the mall when I was supposed to be called and picked up when it was done. He got to the detailer and said "the only way we will pick you up is in your own car" REALLY??? This is how you treat customers? He never offered to have one of the Kia salesmen pick me up nor did he suggest theyd drive one of their cars over to get me, I am only 5 miles down the road!!! He says it's either we pick you up in your own car or you figure it out. So of course I said come and get me. I was pissed. Called Kia and of course that's not the story they heard...well no kidding, of course the guy is going to LIE to cover his butt. My husband went off on them on the phone then followed up with them in person. Fernando who thinks his muscles mean anything, sorry but they mean nothing to a career Marine...they just don't. GOt all defensive when put on the carpet about his lack of professionalism. When my husband asked "what if it was your wife or daughter" his response "well it wasn't so I don't have to talk to you anymore about this or give you a refund, and about your wife putting us on blast on FB or social media won't hurt us" wow because looks like they have nobody buying there cause their lot only has the salesmen when I drove by today. Only good thing was we got the refund, but the customer service sucks and by threatening to call the cops when a customer just brings up their lack of professionalism goes to show they have no customer service skills. You keep customers happy so they will refer you or come back. That will not happen in this case. Too bad because I am a former Kia owner, my car was totaled and I liked the preowned Honda...THANK GOD it is still under Honda warranty!!! read more

The service dept manager seems to forget that his business is based in SERVICE. Went there to see if they could tell me what was wrong with the car so I could schedule an appointment with them and all I got from the moment I drove in was ATTITUDE. Any other good repair shop allows you to drive the car into the shop and talk with them, not these guys. Get you car outside, your blocking the driveway, I see another exit on the end of the building - wtf? Do you have an appointment ? No I need to see if you can figure out the problem so I can drive 50 miles to drop the car off - Mr. Personality ! Sorry - cant look at it (15 minutes investment) - do you want to make an appointment - NO I will take it somewhere where they consider me to a customer and treat me like one. went there looking for car on October of this year, and was planning to get the lease instead, spend a lot of time there, and finally, the sale manager came out, and tell me, they can't lease me a car, because of my credit score was low, but instead want to sell me more expensive car. I went home check, and found the score was much higher than he said, so i went back to the dealer ship, the salesperson ask me do i want to buy a car today or not, i said not sure, so he left, doesn't want to spend more time with me anymore. I tried to buy a car here. After dealing with the sales person by phone I got a writtten quote. Later I spoke with the general manager and got an even better verbal quote from him. About an hour later I received a phone call from the sales person. He told me the owner stated the general manager couldn't give me that price and the deal was off. A half day wasted. Outstanding experience I have recently purchased and new VW from a dealer in "M'odesto". I had been traveling through Merced and had stopped in to inquire on pairing my cell phone. The original salesmen from Modesto ran through the connection process and of course I failed to follow...LOL after a couple of hours in the sales department you can imagine. However I arrived in their service department and was promptly greeted by a serivce guy, Ron.I can see they were busy , however after being greeted by Ron he was quick to guide me throught the connection process. As you can tell now, he directed me while I was sitting in the seat, so obvioulsy I learned!!,,,LOL. He also informed me of a carefree maintenance service on my vehicle which I was not told about where I purchased the vehicle. Ron definately earned my buisness and my service- I will definately drive from Modesto to Merced any day,because of Ron. He mentioned to me it does not matter where I purchased my car as long as I came to their service department. Another note 2 of my neighbors are interested in purchasing I WILL definately recommend Merced VW, they sell Hyundais and Kias!!! Incredible job Ron keep it up!! On 7/30/16, an angel was sent to me and his name was Saan. As I came into the Merced Kia parking lot, I saw a car I already had my eye on, but wasn't sure of the full details on the vehicle. It was just my luck the vehicle that I had my eye on, was pre-owned and turned into the dealership just last night! Saan worked with me and got me into a 2014 Kia Optima! I was so happy, I cried tears of joy! I would also like to thank Gilbert the Finance Manager for making this happen for me as well. WATCH This place. If you take your car in, you better sit and watch them. I took my car into them, on Friday July 7th. For my 30,000 mile service. They lied and said they did an oil change. They did not change my oil. I had to go to sears and pay for it to get done again. And the person who did the work on my car got handprints all over my dashboard, I had just got my car detailed, on Saturday. They were also supposed to wash my car. Lol when I came to get my car it had bugs, and handprints all over the outside. Also, they are extremely rude, and they do not care about there CUSTOMERS... I called Corporate on Monday July 10th about my problem. I still have not received a call from anyone. They don't care what they did, and that's not Okay. I will definitely be going somewhere else for my next service. If I could give this place 0 stars i would. read more

Had a wonderful experience with the salesman Sann Seachao. He really knows his cars inside and out. Helped us find a car that is perfect for a small family with a two year old child and would fit a car seat in the back. We got a VW Passat with plenty of room in the front and back and a monstrous trunk space for groceries and stroller. As first time buyers who would need to give a big down payment and pay over $300 monthly payments Sann gave us the opportunity to lease the vehicle for under that price with $0 down payment for 3 years. We would have the chance to purchase the vehicle afterwards. We were very happy with our brand new car. read more

This car dealership has sold me two lemons after a very bad auto accident they have taken advantage of me and my family. I bought a 2012 in Aug of 2012 and it was in the shop more then I drove it. I traded it in on a 2013 car and bought it new and it has been in the shop twice in three weeks for the check engine light. They let the techs drive the cars recklessly and did not fix my problem any time I have brought the car in for service. I would not recommend this unprofessional dealership to anyone ever. If my review was regarding my 2014 Jetta, I would have given this 5 stars...love my new car. What I am unhappy with is the quality of service, or lack thereof, from the finance person who I will not name. I purchased my car 15 days ago and received a collection call today for the car I traded in. What?? So I call the finance person to inquire about the payoff because the loan in my name is still showing as unpaid. His response is to say "oh don't you worry about that, we will take care of it." Number one, I do worry about my credit that is being harmed by them not paying off my car. Number two, I dislike condescending attitude that I received. After spending 4 hours the initial day of purchase, my husband and I have had to return to sign a second contract, due to their 'clerical errors". Upon closer inspection I find multiple changes including burying a $995 service contract and adding the amount to the "rent charge" of my leased vehicle. My trade in has not been paid off and will not be until I come in to Merced VW to sign yet a THIRD CONTRACT. I am frustrated, and severely disappointed in the service I have received to date. I have purchased many new cars, including two brand new cars from Razarri, YAY RAZARRI...but I will never again take my business to Merced VW. Documents in hand to support this claim, and clerical errors do happen I understand. But this goes beyond clerical error. I do not recommend this dealership at all. read more
