I'm not usually the type to post reviews--especially not about veterinary clinics--but I feel I have to share this, in honor of my beloved dog who recently passed away. I've been bringing Bo to Meridian Veterinary since he was a puppy. The staff had always been friendly, accommodating, and I appreciated their holistic approach to pet care. That trust, however, changed on October 2nd. I brought Bo in because he had lost his appetite and was struggling to breathe. At almost nine years old, Bo was considered a senior for his size. As a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, he was also prone to heart disease. To rule that out, we agreed to do a chest X-ray and several other tests, including those for possible heart failure and pancreatitis. Dr. Tsai initially suspected heart failure and prescribed two heart medications. But the following day, after the radiologist reviewed Bo's X-rays, we were told it wasn't heart failure--it was pneumonia. I returned on October 3rd to bring back the unnecessary heart medication, and Bo was prescribed antibiotics instead. Dr. Tsai provided a one-week supply to "see how he'd respond," explaining that it was difficult to determine whether the infection was viral, bacterial, or fungal. She reassured us that the antibiotics should start working within three days. Despite our efforts--hand-feeding him, monitoring him closely--Bo didn't improve. By day three, October 6th, he was still lethargic, not eating, and breathing heavily. That afternoon, as I tried to feed him again, he couldn't stand or breathe properly. We rushed him to the nearest emergency hospital, but he passed away in my arms on the way there. The ER staff attempted to revive him for over fifteen minutes before confirming he was gone. They said his lungs were filled with fluid. Our family is devastated. We're in the stage of grief where we can't help but wonder what could have been done differently. In researching similar cases, we learned that many veterinarians hospitalize dogs with pneumonia to provide fluids and oxygen support until improvement. That was never presented to us as an option--just a week of antibiotics and hope that it was "garden-variety pneumonia," as Dr. Tsai described it. My wife has reached out to speak with Meridian's hospital manager, but at the time of writing this, we have yet to hear back. I share this not out of anger, but heartbreak. Please--be your pet's strongest advocate. We are done with Meridian. We trusted them with Bo's care, and their conservative approach cost us our beloved dog. We are grieving deeply, and while time may ease the pain, our hearts will always ache for Bo.

Nordic Naturals Omega-3 for Midnight's allergies, hopefully helps!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Angie Stamm and her medical team! Angie was the holistic vet that our small pet business my mom owned for 9 years would always refer our clients to! She's really knows how to tackle pet allergies, cool, hot and warm proteins and is all about feeding a naturally grain-free diet! Our almost 1 year old Goldendoodle definitely has his share of allergies. Apparently it's more common with his breed they said. Since purchasing the Dr. Mercola Seasonal Support from their store shelf, we've seen a significant difference in our puppy! This is also in combination with Nordic Naturals Omega-3 we also purchased from them. His left ear isn't too lucky either, we live on a large property and poor Midnight has had 2 foxtails and ear wax buildup removed and on top of that an ear infection. Recently his ear started bothering him again, which they suspect is irritation from ear hair and prescribed Animax Ointment. We had tried everything out there and since using Nexgard Soft Beef-Flavored Chewables for dogs they prescribed our puppy he has finally had ZERO fleas!! Revolution Plus prescribed for our seal point ragdoll kitty Kirara has worked wonders as well for her! I would definitely recommend this holistic vet! Midnight will be 1 on the 4th and if all goes well after the results of our puppy's bloodwork, he'll be neutered. This means he will mark less lol and will protect him from my mom's un-spayed Queensland heeler. Poor guy will have to wear a cone tho. SYOY! :-)

The best vets I have ever experienced in the 40 years of owning large breed dogs. Dr. Stamm is outstanding! The staff there are also incredible! I only wish I could find a doctor for myself that cared so much for my well being.

Office pooch~ Those eyes!!

In honor of #thankyouThursday I'd like to post a review about the absolutely stellar office of Dr. Stamm. After taking my fur baby to several vets in Midtown and being extremely unsatisfied with lack of professionalism, price gauging and not feeling 100% trusting of anyone with my doggie, I found Meridian Vet Care. The office is not in Midtown, it's a 30 minute (or more depending on traffic) however, well worth the drive. Dr. Stamm is kind, honest, SUPER knowledgeable, warm and very welcoming. I can truly sense her love of animals when I bring my pooch in for a vet visit. I appreciate how gently she handles my elderly doxie (as an oldie, she needs extra lovin). I trust her 1000% and it's a HUGE thing to earn my trust. I know for sure, my doggie is in good hands when she's being cared for by DR. Stamm. My pooch has had minor surgeries, medications, herbs (mixes specifically made for pets), acupuncture, bee stingers removed... she's literally had all sorts of care from Dr. Stamm. Her prices are fair and she doesn't price gauge for services or surgeries. I've actually hesitated leaving her a review because she's so awesome, I didn't want more patients flooding the office making it difficult to get an appointment- not even kidding, lol. Am I stingy? YESSSSS, but only sometimes- I swear. Word travels fast when doctors are as amazing and as trustworthy as Dr. Stamm so... if you don't know, now you know. She is by far, the BEST in the area. Thank you doc, both Zoe & I appreciate you mucho! Oh! And check out her fur baby, brown and white with blue eyes? Adorable. In case you can't tell... We loveeeeee Meridian Vet Care!

After her normal vet shaved and cleaned the wound. You can see the bleed/discharge was never out of her vulva or urethra...

They have a great mobile app that makes communication and appointment management very convenient. However, that changed when I requested an estimate for a dental cleaning for our 6-year-old Yorkie. The procedure was long overdue, and I understood there was a possibility that some teeth might need to be extracted. The estimate I received was approximately $4,300 before any extractions, with additional charges of around $75 per tooth if extractions were needed. Having gone through similar procedures with other pets in the past, I was honestly shocked by the cost. I started researching alternatives and came across Crossroads Animal Hospital. Their reviews were overwhelmingly positive, and since they're close to my home, I decided to give them a call. They provided a very thorough estimate that included all the same important pre-op and post-op care, but the total cost was around $750, with extractions priced at about $25 per tooth. I transferred my dog's records and was able to get an appointment within just a couple of days. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring both on the phone and in person. Most importantly, our Yorkie's dental work turned out fantastic. His teeth looked amazing afterward, only one small tooth needed to be removed, and the bad dog breath that we'd been dealing with was completely gone. Finding a veterinarian you trust can be difficult, especially after moving to a new area. While VCA offers some convenient technology, I'll gladly choose Crossroads Animal Hospital for my pets' care going forward. They've earned my business through excellent service, quality care, and fair pricing.

The Docs: Dr. Cuetara did a through exam on all four pups, he took his time to review their records and to note things to monitor. He also made sure that we had resources available and wrote them down for us along with a list of tasks to follow up on. He has such great bedside manners, I wish our doctors had such manners and dedicated as much time as Dr. Cuetara did with our puppies. Dr. Tavano who is the medical director & reproduction specialist came and introduced herself, spent time with us answering questions and giving us advice on getting a good start with our Breeding Program. She is perfect for us because she believes in responsible breeding to make sure dogs are healthy and with good temperament so they don't end up in shelters, etc. Staff: Theresa has been amazing at helping us out from our first phone call. I am astounded to say that was not the case at Parkway veterinary Hospital. Not only was she almost immediately trusting of the staff, but she got on the scale without needing to be picked up. While that may not seem like a huge people deal for many people, our little girl has a very rough past and does not trust easy- so that little gesture from her was huge. We came in because something had been bothering her in her ear, our regular go to spot didn't have a doctor on site until after 10 , so we started looking for other options. I have had one other experience similar to this before and I think we were both a little traumatized because she needed to be under an anesthetic to have the item removed from her ear. This was because it was so deep and because she was so distrustful with the doctor. In this scenario, Dr. Kodimeria used a muzzle instead -just for safety ( she was so gentle about it) and had us help keep her calm while she thoroughly checked both ears and removed everything that was stuck! It was such a quick procedure, and when I tell you that our girl had no issue with it, I am still bewildered. They also trimmed her nails, which is a miracle on its own that she allowed that. We were so happy with this experience that we switched over to scheduling all of our regular care here. Our dogs know good people when they meet them- that's why we didn't have to make the choice to switch to Parkway veterinary Hospital. Our sweet girl made that choice for us. Thank you again to the entire team at Parkway veterinary, this truly was an incredible experience. Thank you for treating our Girl Zen like the little princess she is.

Unfortunately yesterday everything was going fine until he had a bowel movement, shortly after he started to whine, cry and show signs of severe uncomfortableness, lethargy, it was gut wrenching to see this tiny helpless thing I already love so much be so uncomfortable. I called the vet we are meant to see and they could not fit us in but recommended veterinary urgent care and Surgery in Cameron Park. I immediately just started driving there scared for my puppies well-being. While driving I called and they were able to get me an appointment right away, basically the time it took for me to drive there. They tested us from the car for parvo (thank god is was negative) so we were brought into a room. The vet tech was extremely nice, thorough, endearing, empathetic (as I was a blubbering mess worried about my tiny 4lbs puppy) she got her report ready and brought the dr in. He was even kind and empathetic to my worry and concern. We went over everything. From the day I got him to what possibilities it could be. They gave me options, information and we picked a treatment plan after an exam of my puppy. I was sent home with medications, directions and feeling so much relief that they cared for my dogs wellbeing and how I felt as an owner. Upon leaving and check out and the girls at the front came together to chat with us, and say goodbye. We talked a little about how cute he is his breed type and then reassured us to call if we need anything or have any questions. I will absolutely be a returning customer should an emergency come up again. Completely unrelated but when I went to grab my dog from the techs arms after they took him in back to give him a couple shots I could smell her subtle perfume(it smelt amazing) as we had to be shoulder to shoulder. I politely asked her what it was and she told me. Not vet related but something small / important to me. This small kind interactions made me feel like a real person to them instead of a ticket number.

Unfortunately, the quality of care he provides is overshadowed by an extremely rude and unprofessional front office staff. For about a month we left messages roughly once a week regarding scheduling our Golden Retriever for a spay procedure and never received a call back. Eventually we were told Dr. Khurmi had been on vacation, and suddenly we were able to schedule the surgery. It would have been helpful if that had been communicated earlier, but at that point we were simply happy to finally get the appointment. We chose the laparoscopic option because we had read it could be less traumatic and allow for an easier recovery. We were given a price range, and when we dropped our dog off we paid $1,783.94, which was the lower end of the estimate. When we picked her up, we were told we owed an additional $116.06. The amount itself was no big deal to us. We had already agreed to a cost range and were fully prepared to pay within that range. Out of simple curiosity, we asked what caused the final cost to land at the higher end. The vet tech immediately became defensive and spoke to us in a condescending tone in front of other clients, repeatedly stating that we had agreed to a range rather than simply explaining the difference. We never received a clear answer. While waiting, there were also other clients ahead of us who appeared surprised by additional charges at checkout, so it did not seem like an isolated situation. The discharge process was also rushed. The vet tech briefly went over the medication but did not clearly review the rest of the post-operative instructions before sending us home with a printed sheet. Nearly two weeks later the stitches are still clearly visible, so we called the office today to confirm whether they were dissolvable or needed to be removed. I had made a mental note that the instructions mentioned something about sutures being removed around 14 days, as we are approaching that timeframe and I wanted to get them taken out. When I explained that this had not been discussed with us, the staff member responded in a very abrasive tone, repeatedly insisting that we had been sent home with an instruction sheet rather than simply addressing the question. After requesting the clinical summary earlier to understand the final invoice, I reviewed it again and it actually states "sutures out in 14 days," which contradicts what we were told on the phone today. As a client and not a veterinarian, I should not have to interpret clinical notes to understand basic post-operative instructions. Clear and consistent guidance is important when you are caring for a pet recovering from surgery. I have since emailed the clinic asking for clarification and am still waiting for confirmation on whether the sutures are dissolvable or need to be removed. Based on our experience, the front office staff and vet techs could benefit from additional training in client communication and customer service. Pet owners should feel comfortable asking questions without being spoken to in a defensive or dismissive tone. After reviewing other client feedback and the responses from this business, there appears to be a pattern of defensiveness rather than accountability. Hopefully this situation will be handled differently, but based on those responses I would not be surprised if the reply focuses on defending the clinic rather than addressing the concerns raised. When you trust someone with your pet's surgery, professionalism and clear communication should be the standard, not something clients have to fight for.
