Despite Vader being a giant baby every time he has to go to the vet, and the 17 year old Princess the cat also hating it- these really are the best vets in town and possibly the best we've ever had for these two animals of mine. They don't do unnecessary tests and are fair, honest and kind. Despite Vader just wanting to escape (or Princess wanting to bite) it's not their fault in anyway shape or form. The vets are all nice, and try their best to make Vader less fearful. My 17 year old cat- well- they just let her be 17 and grouchy. They don't push vet diets and understand owners (and their budgets). If you need a vet in this very busy area- try to wait for these guys. It's worth it. read more

I was very impressed with the kind and supportive care we received when our dog passed away at the hospital. We were able to carry him in on his own bedding, which he stayed on until the end. We were given all the time we needed to privately say good-bye. We were given water, tissues, and comfort. They even offered the option of leaving out the side door if we didn't want to be emotional in front of people in the waiting room. A couple weeks later, we received a beautiful copy of the "Rainbow Bridge" poem with our dog's paw print on it. The entire staff signed a hand-made card offering their condolences. When I came back to pick up his ashes, the staff once again gave such heartfelt condolences. I wasn't just a number, and it showed! read more

We can't be happier with the service and care our precious little Rosebud (all 3.7 lbs of....well, our best guess is a Scottie/Chiahuahua mix) has been receiving. She was having difficulty breathing so we knew we had to get her into a vet. The question was "Who do go to?" We haven't been here that long and finding a "good" vet is like finding a good doctor, dentist, mechanic, etc. I live right down the road and see that their sign always has a great message and a picture of a dog of the week, so I thought this would be a great place to start with. I just felt that they would be a caring place. Well, I was right. My husband took in Rosebud and he said that Dr. Fisher was very kind and caring over our precious fur-baby. She took x-rays and saw that Rosebud has a tumor on her lungs. She was very patient and thoroughly explained some of our options and said that my husband and I could discuss it and let them know what direction we wanted to take. She sent home a cough syrup to help alleviate Rosebud's coughing fits and it really worked well. She also told us to give her some chicken and rice to help increase her appetite and wow! What a difference that and the cough syrup made. My husband went back in today and saw Dr. Kara and she too, was incredibly sweet and caring and patiently answered all of my husband's questions. Of course, we will be looking into cancer treatment for her, but I just had to Yelp about the wonderful, caring, patient, understanding and wonderful team they have at this veterinary hospital. I feel very comfortable knowing that they care more for the animal and their owners than just their pocketbook. Vets we have dealt with in the past, just seem to want to push whatever "they" want or feel is best for their pockets. I do not recommend this place. They should change their name. This is not a hospital and they don't have emergency services. I would take my animal here for only the most basic services like vaccines. Within the last 3 years, it has been a revolving door of different doctors. My animal was in their care for a total of 6 hours before I needed to transfer to WestVet and they charged me over $1200. I felt they took advantage of a bad situation. read more

We are in the middle of a crisis with our 8 yo puppy, refusing to eat and lethargic. We called the vet and they were able to see us right away. Since we are still in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic, I was very happy to see them using appropriate protocols when receiving our puppy. We called them when we got there and they had someone meet us at our car ( with masks) to pick up our puppy. They were very good with explaining to us the results of her check up, answering any and all questions and explaining future treatments. Very compassionate team here. Unfortunately they are still working on a treatment for my puppy, so she will go and spend the day with them tomorrow for treatment and observation. I trust them with my family member! read more

Meridian Veterinary offers incredible care with skilled doctors and staff with the highest quality care in the valley. We have had all of our experiences be total positive and reassuring experiences. Our Frenchie has had a hard time breathing due to a squished face, so the skilled staff performed 2 surgeries to take a flap out of his throat to clear his airway and open up his nostrils. I have taken my terrier in several times, and always been very pleased with the care, service, and cost. I trust them, and consider them professional and knowledgeable. My dog has been in for everything from ingesting toxic substances to "what is that lump?" She required repeated visits for monitoring her blood levels several weeks for the poisons. The vet was very thorough and conscientious. I'll add that she had already been to our close-by local vet (can't get in, and no good for emergencies), and West Vet (the only one available on weekend nights) and when I got to Meridian they already had the records from the other two vets and had reviewed them. I couldn't be happier with the service and just amazing overall experience we had here. Today was our first time going because unfortunately my dog he was having issues with her hip and our normal place wasn't able to get us in for a few days so this place came recommended and I couldn't be happier. They were able to get us in within the hour. The vet literally sat on the floor almost the entire visit with my little Chihuahua as she was super nervous. The vet was thorough, soft spoken with my dog and kind. She explained everything to me and didn't try to push any unnecessary testing or exams which I really appreciated. Well, this made me think twice about every bringing my fur pup there. I called 45 mins before closing, because my dog was sick and weak, but instead of wanting to take of my pet, they suggested I go somewhere else, because they were closing soon. That just showed me, they don't care about the animals, but when they are wanting to go home. On the answering machine, it said press 0 if it was an a emergency, so that's is what I pushed, and then I was pushed off to go somewhere else, because they wanted to make sure they left at 6 pm. All I know is I will not take my fur family to a place that really shows what they care more about and that's is not them. I have to take my sick puppy to a place that really care, and not about what time they want to walk out the door. read more

We took our dog here ( Clark) from when we first had him until he recently passed. Everyone we encountered was professional and caring. He had everything done there. Cancer operation; numerous ear issues etc. At the end when his cancer forced us to put him down (he was 14). They came to the house and did it right in his home. Your pet will be looking for his family members and you want to be with him during the final times. I would give this Vet hospital 10 stars if I could. Great people. read more

I called on Friday to get my cat Ted in because his ears are itching him to the point he is making his ears bleed. I called Friday at 10:31 am and was told he was on the schedule for that following Monday (8/24) at 11:30 am. When my husband called Monday to confirm the appointment was at 11:30 am the receptionist said there was no appointment. I called back and was told my cat was not on the schedule anywhere but I could reschedule him for the following week. We will no longer take our pets to Meridian vet. read more

This is an amazing animal care hospital! We started bringing our dogs there about a year ago, and we felt right away that we found our vet care place! They care for our dogs now, young and old, some with very complicated health issues. Our doctor is Amy Albrecht. She is thorough, reassuring and compassionate. When you see her examining your dog, you know right away that she loves animals and cares about their well being. She was great returning my calls regarding treatments, or when there was change in my dog's conditions and I didn't know what to do - she called back the same day, often even after business hours. We have also been seen by other doctors at the clinic when she was not available, and it was always a very pleasant experience. Oh, and the front desk ladies are amazing, too! read more

Meh. We are new to the area, and took our cat there twice out of desperation, thankfully the second time the vet recommended West Vet to further evaluate and treat our cat. West Vet was awesome. I would rate higher but the clinic has changed greatly. Prices have gone up very much. We took all three animals in my two dogs and my kitty in for shots and a couple other issues. One dog never got her medication for he fungus in her ears the other boy has a growth on upper eyelid. Was told to watch it and keep it clean. It's now bigger! He also didn't get anxiety Meds for thunder storms etc. my kitty developed a very high fever 104.3 and had to get her back in for fluids and an anti rejection shot. Now they will no longer let clients make payments and we were charged for three office visits and even a nail trim that was complimentary. And just called to make n appointment for Ben and his eye and was promptly reminded I owed $50 for bring my cat in! Not even one bit of compassion for my dog!!! One of our neighbor boys fed our Airdale Terrior rocks. We were in a panic and took our dog to Meridian Veterinary Hospital for help. When we got into the treatment room the vet evaluated him and told us that he had 13 rocks in his stomach and that he looked like a gravel pit. He recommended starting an I.V. and keeping him over night. He said if they have to do surgery it would be pretty expensive. I asked him the costs because my wife and I are on a budget. He told us that it would be a couple hundred to keep him over night to see if he would pass the rocks and the surgery would probably be about $1000. I can afford a couple hundred($200 is what a couple means to me). The next day when I came to pickup my dog they handed me some paperwork. One of the papers was an estimate for $900. What a shock to be lied to and then they held my dog until I paid them 1/3 of the cost. I have checked with two other vets in the area and they have both said that is an outrageous cost. I got a call from Meridian Veterinary Hospital and have explained my concerns. They told me that the now $700 bill they would knock off $70 if i paid in full today otherwise they are sending it to collections. I am very unhappy with this and now they have sent me to collections for the remaining balance. Worst company and service ever. read more
