The wait isn't long and they make sure to spend time with you to answer any questions you might have. The main vet is also the surgeon and he has removed two cancerous growths on our cat. Winnie just had dental surgery to remove a broken tooth. I was pleasantly surprised that the final amount was much lower than the estimate and that they took such good care of Winnie. Dr. Mark called me after her X-rays to let me know what he found before he operated. They also give you follow-up calls to make sure your pet is doing okay after surgery. Unfortunately, massive growth and not enough people and time, to take proper care of your patients. Because the lady who answers the phone is convincing and is unable to get you an appointment for weeks, my animal suffered. My Dane, who fell ill with gastrointestinal issues, we reached out to your office somewhere between July 23rd-25th. And was told, to just "take all the food away". Real nice. We listened, and for that, our dog was dead July 29th! If only we could have had her seen.... Word of mouth makes and breaks small businesses. Anger isn't even the word! Outside of routine pup maintenance we brought our pooch in for some allergy issues and for a pretty severe back issue. I've taken my pupper Lucy here a few times now. The wait times are reasonable. The front staff is really nice, very knowledgeable about local stuff for dogs to do... should they get bored and say "what's up today? Can we go do something fun and different? I'm bored with the same ol walks...". Oh. They don't talk. Well, maybe it's just my dog. It's the way she looks at me I guess. Anyway, we've seen two vets there, the head honcho and heather. Both very thorough and caring. I know my girl is in good hands when we go in. One time she went in for dental. Dr Mark called me to say she needed several extractions.. be warned the bill will be around $1,000. Okay I said. That will be hard on the ol pocketbook, but do what's needed for the best care of my precious Lucy, I said. Oy! I come to pick her up and all she has left are two bottom fangs and about 8 teeth in the waaaaaaaay back of her mouth. That will be over $2,000.00 please! WHAT???!?! I was told it would be half that! Be careful with your pocketbook here... it may get picked. But hey, they did a great job and now my Lucy has the best breath in the whole family! read more

I just moved here and had not yet gotten a new vet for my dog. She somehow hurt her eye and it was swollen shut. All the vets I called wouldn't be able to fit me in for another month! (Due to being backed up from Covid). However Paramount fit me in the very next morning. They charged an emergency visit fee which is just $30 more than their regular fee. Due to Covid I just had to drop my dog off and wait for them to call me whenever they were finished seeing her. They were very friendly with her and made me feel comfortable leaving her there. The vet Mark Fineman called me about an hour later and gave me the update. He was extremely friendly and thorough with the information. Great price for everything and great care! We were taking both our dogs to Paramount Animal Care since they were puppies. Our youngest who is 10 months now had two baby cannine's she needed removed which should have been removed with her spay. When I inquired the cost to remove them they quoted me $779.86 which I thought was outrageous. So I talked to Dr. Mark on the phone about it and made an appt for him to take a look and see if he could do it around the $350 range. I brought her in and sat in the lobby, he never even looked at her teeth. The tech came our with another estimate that was in the $650 range. I said who approved this and she said Dr. Mark did. I called our old vet in Kimberly and they were willing to remove them for $175 and I called Settlers Veterinary and they would remove them for $225. Needless to say we changed vets to Settlers and found out there were also some unnecessary shots they didn't need, which amounts to more money for them. Our daughter also changed to Settlers too. Not saying Dr. Mark is not a nice guy, but after finding out what other vets costs were for the same thing, I'd say the money means more to him. read more

Starting off with a new veterinary clinic is always a little scary. Paramount made me feel right at home. The office was very friendly from beginning to end. Dr. Mark took all my needs and concerns into account while examining my cat(don't tell her she is a cat). Which as cat owners we know is not an easy chore. Not only did he do a thorough exam but with as little trauma to her as possible. She was less vocal than she has ever been and behaved better than expected. Avoid this place at all costs. I brought my snake in to get shed skin removed from her eyes caps and instead Dr. Fineman removed her corneas! I am now out $980 in snake vet bills because I have to get her eyes removed! if you have reptiles or exotic animals PLEASE do not take them here. My snake is permanently blinded because of the owner of this vet. Take your reptiles to Treasure Valley Vet in Nampa where they know what they're doing. I am trying to seek compensation for my losses but the way this office communicates is less than lackluster. Feeling sick this morning. We have a cocker spaniel that has been suffering an ear infection. Very common for cockers, but hard to endure seeing her in such discomfort. I have been shopping for a good vet that genuinely cares about their patients. My neighbor gave me a solid referral to Paramount as she takes her German Shepard there. I called and they were booked out 45 days. I set the appointment up for Monday the 18th of October with a Christa or Christie. I stayed on the phone with her and wrote the date, address and office charge on my calendar. We thought it was odd not getting a confirmation call for the appointment on Saturday so before I left the house this morning I called. The same person answered the phone and to my horror she said they had no record of the appointment. She said it happens that sometimes things don't get entered in correctly. The only thing she could offer was an appointment in November. Do to the incompetence of the receptionist I am once again shopping for another Vet and my poor little friend has to sit in pain for God only knows how long. Customer service is dead. This place obviously only cares about getting your check or they would have worked something out. disgusted......I will be blogging about this till my fingers bleed. Unfortunately we had already suspected that our 17 year old cat was in kidney failure. The staff at Paramount is kind and let us hold the cat before having to have her put to sleep. They wrapped her in a blanket almost like a baby. Gave us all the time we needed. They gave her a sedative before bringing her to us, but it just calmed her. She still knew we were there. We were offered the option to take her home and give her subcutaneous fluids, but the vet said she would not likely last more than a couple of weeks if that. We have gone the home subcutaneous fluid route before with a cat of ours and it was miserable for all concerned, including the cat. They also made a paw print for us to remember Loretta by. The only bad part was that they were on the experience side of things. $100 just for mass cremation with no ashes returned. At the animal shelter it's only $10. There are two places that specialize in pet cremation where $75-$100 will get your pet cremated with the ashes returned if you wish. But even though Paramount was expensive, I will be taking my 15 year old dog there to see what can be done to help her arthritis. She's definitely not ready to be put to sleep yet the way she runs around at her age is something else. read more

We have been going to Paramount since it opened, and we love Dr Mark and his entire staff so much. They've helped us deal with our two wonderful cats who both have kidney disease. When our male cat became so ill we had to make the decision we so dreaded, Dr Mark was compassionate and helpful through the whole process. He really cares about his patients!! Recently Dr Hilary Pasi treated our other cat, Sophie, for what we thought was going to be the same diagnosis as her brother. We so dreaded having to face it again. Luckily, it wasn't! We were leaving town for two weeks the next day and she was in dire straits with some type of skin infection. I called my regular vet and couldn't get in (usually the case). He was very professional, very compassionate and I felt very comfortable putting my kitty in his capable hands.
