If I could give Viking Veterinary Hospital ten stars, I would do it without question. The staff are some of the most kind and compassionate people ever. I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life that day. Viking was so gentle with me and my Tobias. The care we received before and after the service is incomparable. T

He's on the mend now and very comfortable. Initially when we came in, we had to unfortunately wait nearly an hour to be seen, and yes, I did time the wait, but they came in once to explain that they had some other high priority cases, and that is totally understandable. I wish that I was able to go in the back with him while they did his exam and treatment, but I was told to wait out front. The facility is new super-clean, convenient, well laid out, and staffed with friendly, professional employees. A day or so later, I was concerned that his paw was still swollen, and so I took him back, and they were able to confirm that he was healing properly at no charge! Hey, they even have free coffee, tea and cider while you wait.

Told them we wanted some fluids and anti-nausea medicine. Assistant came in saying she needed a parvo test which we stated not needed. She said she needed to talk to the doctor, came back pretty much saying if not done no treatment. (said it was about 50.00 where actually it is 79.00) so we agreed reluctantly. 2.5 hours later the Dr. came in and she said she needs to do ultra-sound as there might be something there, we agreed. Came back and said she needed to do an X-ray as there might be something, so we reluctantly agreed. Came back and like EVERYTHING else it was negative. Suggested they give her fluids and anti-nausea medicine because the de-wormer can cause some vomiting. THAT IS WHAT WE CAME FOR INITIALLY. Saw the bill and was quite mad. Would never have taken her there is she wasn't so small (2.4 lbs) so can go downhill fast with dehydration. Recommend the one on Chinden Blvd if an emergency as service is not a con to run unnecessary tests. Update: I was able to get the resolution I was hoping for by speaking with one of the supervisor. My perception has been changed and if needed I would visit again if needed. Nice to know they aren't only trying to maximize profits by upselling tests. Wife and I are happy and our puppy is happy and healthy now too.

"The information in your review does not match your pet's records from our hospital or from WestVet. No records were held hostage" Neither of the 2 documents that were sent to me contained any of the chart notes that you claim backs up your side of the story. I specifically requested chart notes, invoices and imaging results. Those were not supplied to me as of today 6/11/2025. "Posting an inaccurate negative review after threatening to do so because we declined a refund is unfair and misleading." You misunderstand, had Dr. Wethered not been condescending, sexist and rude I probably wouldn't have posted. The money doesn't matter at this point unfortunately, it's how terrible we've been treated. "While you may not remember taking home the prescribed medication, there is evidence in your pet's WestVet medical record to show that you did, as you told the WestVet team that you had last given the Maropitant and Metronidazole "last night" - a day after they had been sent home by our hospital." This was resolved over the phone, I am editing my review that I did take home the medications. This was a misunderstanding on my part and I did appreciate the clarification. "Neither Westvet nor Northwest Animal Hospital diagnosed stomach cancer in your pet. In fact, the WestVet ultrasound report specifically states that there were no significant abnormalities seen in the stomach." If you'd send me those notes and those imaging results I'd be more than happy to edit my review, but as of today you still haven't sent them. You also were not there on the phone call with the West Vet doctor and you did not hear what we were told. I'm editing my review since west vet was kind of enough to send me imaging results and their interpretation. We're really debating semantics here with the word stomach. The conversation that was had on the day Titan got sent home from Dr. Wethered was that there was minor changes in the lining and there was a nodule on the spleen that probably had nothing to do with what was going on. He recommend explorative surgery which I scheduled for the 18th. 2 days later another ultrasound is done and the results from that are as follows: 1. Extensive proximal small intestinal wall thickening and reduction/loss of wall layering may represent neoplastic infiltration such as round cell or adenocarcinoma; or severe infectious or inflammatory enteritis. 2. Regional lymphadenopathy. DDx: Reactive versus infiltrative/metastatic neoplasia. 3. Mild colonic wall thickening may represent infectious or inflammatory colitis; or infiltrative neoplasia. 4. Splenic nodules. DDx: Benign such as lymphoid hyperplasia or extramedullary hematopoiesis; or malignant such as neoplasia. 5. Asymmetric left adrenomegaly with caudal pole nodule (hyperplasia or adenoma). 6. Diffuse peritoneal steatitis and scant peritoneal effusion. It just seems really curious to me as to why we were sent home and why none of this was seen on the ultrasound done at Northwest. To say that the results from West Vet showed no abnormalities is skirting the issue and misleading.

We had an 18 year old Chihuahua who lived a long, wonderful life. I was starting to believe he was going to be the first dog to cheat death itself. Alas, these past few months he had been declining rapidly, and after his last seizure, he didn't recover. He stopped eating, became incredibly disoriented, and we knew it was time to make the kindest and hardest decision a pet owner ever has to make. We called Gentle Goodbyes, and they were able to come to our home so our little guy could spend his final moments somewhere he was comfortable and surrounded by the people who loved him most. From the moment they arrived, they were compassionate, patient, and incredibly professional. They made sure he was comfortable and never made us feel rushed while we said our final goodbyes. They lit a candle in his memory, made a clay paw print for us on the spot, and gave us the time and space we needed to simply be with him. They somehow managed to strike the perfect balance of guiding us through the process while also allowing us to feel our grief without ever feeling like we were on a timeline. There are probably a hundred little things they did that I'm not able to articulate right now because I'm still grieving the loss of my best friend, but I knew I wanted to make sure I thanked them properly and gave them the five stars they deserve. No one ever wants to need a service like this, but if and when that day comes, I cannot recommend Gentle Goodbyes enough. They gave our sweet boy a peaceful, dignified farewell, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Over the moon poodles and doodle in Idaho - 208-861-7074 Tiffany Corson Mountain Bridge Doodles in Arizona - +1 (480) 241-3098 Leigh Ann Matty I feel compelled to share my experience with two dog breeders who have shown extreme unprofessionalism and a complete lack of integrity. Not only did they breach our contract, but has repeatedly lied about important details regarding the puppy I was a home guardian for. Her & her business partners behavior has been incredibly inconsiderate and disrespectful, and I'm deeply concerned about the well-being of the animals they are breeding. I was brought on as a home guardian to care for and train a puppy for the breeder, under the impression I was his owner while they had breeding rights. Over the past nine months, I've fully committed to providing this puppy with a loving, stable home--training him, taking him to all his vet appointments, and covering the costs for his care and well-being. This is not only heartbreaking but deeply frustrating, as I fulfilled every aspect of our agreement while she has completely disregarded her commitments, breaching contract, involving family members who are not included on the contract, and giving the puppy expired supplements called (get me going), causing him to overdose. This resulted in me taking him to the emergency vet for over 48 hours, due to being so lethargic, dehydrated, causing him to have uncontrollable bowel movements, no appetite, and had been foaming at the mouth. However, after all my time, effort, and financial investment, the breeder has now taken the puppy back without any regard for the bond we've built or the responsibility I've shown, while blatantly ignoring all calls and texts with the concern of his whereabouts and why he was never returned to his guardian home. These breeder have demonstrated a total disregard for ethical practices and have been compulsive liars throughout our interactions. It's clear that they should not be entrusted with the care and breeding of animals. I strongly urge others to be cautious and reconsider purchasing from them. There are many reputable breeders who genuinely care about the animals they bring into the world--unfortunately, these individuals are not one of them. Please do your research and protect yourself and the animals involved. If you're considering a home guardian program, please be cautious and make sure you're working with a breeder who is honest, professional, and truly values the well-being of both the animals and the people involved.
