My husband and I were visiting friends in Dallas one weekend and stopped by Merit Coffee to grab our usual morning caffeine fix. We both ordered hot lattes with their House Made Mexican Vanilla. The lattes were good, although we both agreed the vanilla in our lattes did not taste "house made" whatsoever. Surprisingly, our lattes tasted like any other latte with generic vanilla simple syrup added. A bit disappointing, actually. I also tried their Bacon Cheddar Scone, which was delightful. I recommend getting this if you want a savory pastry to munch on. Customer service was great. There are plenty of tables for hanging out/studying and a cute outside patio seating area as well, which we enjoyed since we brought our pup! Parking wasn't an issue. Overall, not the best lattes we've had, but not bad at all. The atmosphere was great. We'd be open to coming back here the next time we're in town! read more

The employees are a good mix of too cool for you and polite. I don't love the seating in this coffee shop, because it's a little hard to come by, and it's like a runway to the actual register where you have to pass and potentially distract every human in the place. Otherwise, it's extremely sleek, modern , yet cozy. The coffee is well done, the pastries are diverse, and the tacos are from taco deli?! Yum. read more

Nice coffee shop in Oak Lawn. Relaxed calm environment with both indoor seating and some covered outdoor seating in the adjacent hallway. Baristas were super friendly and gave helpful recommendations. Had the cold brew which tasted excellent and smooth. Not cheap but comparably priced to most nice coffee shops. This place just opened so the decor and furnishing was fresh. Most people were hanging out during work/studying. Also saw a few business meetings happening here. Pretty quiet. I was so excited to go to this place but after going there I was very disappointed. This is a place comes across as a establishment that caters to dietary needs. With that being said, not only did they not have corn tortillas but they only had two taco options available, and there was no indication on the menu. My favorite coffee shop in Dallas. Their drip and pour-over options are always great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like to get coffee then sit in the outdoor alcove. It's covered so it's nice to sit outside even in the summer and enjoy some coffee while reading or studying. Lots of coffee to take home to enjoy too! Let me start with the good stuff first. In my opinion Merit is one of the top three places to get the best roasts of coffee in Dallas. Even though they are roasters out of San Antonio I won't hold that against them :) They use state of the art equipment in their brewing, the location is always clean, it's well-designed space and I absolutely love that they have a wide variety of slow pour options. That's seriously a greatly appreciated rarity in this town. Any other time I'd give them 5 stars but in the past few weeks (pre-corona) they have had dogs inside their location every single time I've gone in. Which is a lot! And this is not just someone with a to go order, these are people sitting at the tables, hanging out with their dogs. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but this is a health-code violation and it does make other people who aren't dog lovers very uncomfortable. I've brought it up to the staff and the response was, "as long as the dog is well-behaved it's okay." Unfortunately, that's not the health-code guidelines. I do love this place and I'll be sure to update my review if they stop allowing dogs to hang out inside, but until then I can't give them 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review. Quant little spot for coffee. Ordered the cold brew and a iced Americano. The Americano was marvelous. Very flavorful. Not sure the expresso beans used but very delicious. The cold brew was a tad bland with not much flavor. Little disappointed. Service was friendly. And relaxed atmosphere gives me good vibes. Definitely will return. read more
