    Cold Brew & Latte
    Walker C.

This is my most frequented coffee shop - great location that I find myself visiting after a quick trip to Trader Joes. Merit Coffee offer all the classics--house coffee, cold brew, lattes, and more--along with fun seasonal or specialty coffee and tea options if you're in the mood for a treat or looking to shake things up. If you're a regular at Merit Coffee, definitely sign up for their rewards program. After just 9 points, you can score a free house coffee or cold brew of any size, with syrups and milk customizations included at no extra charge. The pastries here are a bit hit or miss. We love the ham & cheese croissant, but it's often sold out, and the ham & cheese hot pocket doesn't quite scratch the same itch. They also have some great merchandise if you're into quality coffee gear and branded goods. And for what it's worth--my girlfriend doesn't usually like coffee, but she loves Merit. That says a lot!

It's a cute coffeeshop with plenty of options. They have cold brew, lattes, matcha, and other unique flavor offerings for seasonal taste bud It's right in the corner of the shopping center facing 75. You can't miss the sign. They have seating but it is expensive for the size of cups. $8 for a large cold brew...

Very cute spot, the inside is cozy and there's a few tables outside of the weathers nice. Loved the people working behind the counter and the drink they made me was the best matcha I've had in months.

I love Merit! And have visited a few collections. I love the openness and brightness of this location. The drinks and treats are always delish! And the service is always great. I recommend any of their locations.

I am not a big coffee person but Merit always has my heart (and money) with their specialty drinks! The flavors are always so good and delicious and such a delight. Love all their locations, particularly partial to the Preston Hollow one

Super yum. Super chill. Motivated for your business. Great study, work break between clients or before an appointment kinda place to regroup and stay or get focused. Music, atmosphere and a pretty landscapes of kangaroo paw in bloom and a verdant field among trees adjacent to a parking lot.

I came to Merritt because I was craving some Matcha and when I yell this place came in the Maps. I ordered the Barry Matcha ice latte and it was actually delicious. It was not too sweet nor to plain. It was just right and perfect for me. I'd definitely ordered this again.

I love Merit! Best coffee in Texas in my opinion This location can be pretty busy since in a prime spot in Preston Hollow. Merit does have an app that lets you preorder to pick up coffee to avoid long lines. The team is quick and kind whenever I go in. They have a variety that of unique seasonal offerings- strawberry matcha being one of my favorites. Their coffee is always bursting with flavor and their lattes are creamy and rich. Even their cold brew is levels above most places in terms of flavor. The shop is near Trader Joe's, apartments and a bunch of apartments. They have plenty of indoor seating with windows that allow a lot of natural light and city scenes. Cute and quiet when I went in today.

Friendly, local coffee spot at Walnut Hill and 75 (Northwest corner, semi-near Trader Joe's and Solidcore) in Preston Hollow. Was nice for the Merit locations to be open on thanksgiving day from 8-12 noon, just enough time to get a good latte before meeting family. Solid coffee, standard milk options and alt milk options (including oat), a variety of pastries and snacks and friendly, knowledgeable baristas. Plenty of parking, too. And yes, they'll even make a iced cortado without any second thought.

Definitely will visit when I'm in area. My latte was very good and looked adorable- love coffee art! Service was good too- they were helpful in our coffee recommendations. Great for studying, reading or quick Business meeting spot

Proper espresso service, with a spoon and sparkling water

I've been a customer of Merit Coffee for many years, starting in San Antonio when I used to make regular trips there for work. I've mostly been a bagged coffee customer, but over the last couple of years, I've really upped my personal coffee game at home with pourover and espresso gear, and I've come to appreciate the finer nuances of coffee. Lately, my quest has been to find places in Dallas where one can get a straight (or "neat") espresso that tastes great, and is served as though the shop regularly does this and has a proper service for it. Many places will kind of look at you funny and serve it in a paper cup, but Merit does it right. They have the standard espresso that's used in the milk drinks, plus a single origin "rotator" that they serve for straight espresso. I, of course, opted for this one, and was rewarded with a wonderful cup. It had a modest acidity, not too overpowering, and good, clear notes of fruit and brown sugar sweetness from the light medium roast. A cortado from the same bean, plus a little raw sugar, really brought out those tasting notes and made for a sweet and creamy delight in the glass. If you're in the shop soon after this review, the selection they had on this day was the Cesar X Clever from Peru. This is what I'd call a "top tier" coffee shop, especially in the Dallas area, where truly exceptional espresso service seems to be hard to find. Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Located near the Trader Joe's on Walnut Hill in a nice area. The interior is nice and they have a cute, cozy shop with some goods/merch you can buy. Seating is pretty limited but it wasn't busy when we went. There's also a station for water, which is nice. Overall, it's a great cafe to check out and catch up with a friend!

Amazing coffee spot in a cool Walnut Hill complex…read more I like the vibe here and their coffee is always on point. I've only been during the day and always spend a little time working before a coffee meeting. The WiFi is always good and the coffee is great. The ambiance is very open and inviting as well. They serve small bites as well but I haven't really partaken. Additionally, I think they have several beers on tap and they appear to all be cool local brews. If you're looking for a good local coffee shop with a vibe, this may be your new spot!!

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.

Please note that parking in this area is particularly difficult but if you come in the morning, it should be easier to find. Now to the food... They have a small but mighty menu for breakfast and lunch. For my first time I decided to try their The Monte Duro, which is a pastry style "hot pocket" with smoked prosciutto, mortadella, mustard and jam. For drink I decided to go with their Dirty Chai Latte. The drink was absolutely perfection and exactly what I needed in a warm Texas morning. I recommend a reservation for weekend brunch so you can guarantee a seat. If you just want pastries / coffee, you can order at the counter. Expect a line during busy times, but it moves quickly. On my most recent visit I saw they added mobile ordering. The employees at La Casita always provide great advice on what to order. - Food / drink: The La Casita pastries are hands-down my favorites in Dallas. I love their monthly rotating items (only Saturdays and Sundays). You must visit in October for their Halloween specials! One of my favorite standard menu items is the ham and cheese croissant. Their drinks are also top notch. I love the ginger mint matcha in the spring and sweet potato latte in the fall. The salted honey matcha and Turkish lattes are great standard options. If you're able to get a seat, the food is not to miss! I think they have some of the best chilaquiles in town. The banana praline pancakes are perfect for a sweet treat and the sandwiches are great if you want something more savory. In the evenings, this location turns into a tiki bar. I haven't tried their evening food yet, but I enjoyed my cocktail when I went in the evening and I hope to try more evening food and drinks soon. I also have to give a shout-out to their to-go drink containers. They are compostable and their large size folds up so you can get the perfect sip without a straw or a gaping hole. I hope more businesses take note and start to use these too! - Value: La Casita provides fair portion sizes for the price, especially the sit-down brunch items. Everything is made with the highest degree of quality so it's money well spent!
