Outstanding. The gluten-free pepperoni pizza was terrific, and the dozen other people who ate "regular" pizza raved about it. The cheese bread and pepperoni cheese bread were also big hits. We ordered sausage, mushroom, cheese, pepperoni, and supreme pizzas on both types of crust, and all were delicious. The delivery was also very timely for such a large order. Merlin's is certainly one of the better tasting non-chain pizzas in the area and the staff is very friendly. My complaints are the pizzas are small for their "sizes" and prices. toppings are WAY too expensive, "premium toppings" at $5 a pop is highway robbery. A medium pizza with just a few toppings can easily be just shy of $20. A large or x-large would easily be $30 and it's only a 16" x-large. Considering my favorite pizza place has an 18" x-large and with the same toppings is only around $22-$24, the pizza at Merlin's is simply overpriced. Some of the flavors are a bit unexpected, but all are good. It's always great when a pizza place offers green olives too! however, it was a bit odd that they don't remove the pimento from green olives before or after slicing them. The cheese has a good taste, and overall the pizza is one of the better pizzas in the area. As a restaurant, however, it's very small and couldn't accommodate many people at all. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it very much made me feel like I was back in high school and eating at Sharky's Pizza in Charleston. Seems like this would be the perfect hangout for high school kids, as well. All in all it's different and certainly worth a stop or an order if you're in the mood for pizza and don't want to order from a chain. And it's the best option in all of Destin or Fort Walton. read more

I'm giving Merlin's 3 stars because my boyfriend enjoyed the boneless fry Buffalo wings. The pizza was really mediocre - nothing more. The breadsticks were gross and the sauce tasted acidic. (I rather sweet sauce). They told me 30-40 minutes delivery. Took around 1 hour. Overall it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't order again. Go with Pizza Hut or dominos. read more

Best gluten free pizza and wings in Destin. Three people from our party had Celiac disease or gluten intolerance and none of us have gotten sick (fingers crossed). Waiter, Brian, was experienced and lively, in contrast to the previous waiters we've had during our trip. Definitely best to avoid the chain restaurants and head somewhere smaller for better service and better food. Can't go wrong with Merlin's service, food, and atmosphere. 10/10. read more

I'm a local, and just decided to give Merlin's a try. Online order. I got their version of meat lovers, and an order of boneless buffalo wings, 1/2 cajun blackened, 1/2 spicy garlic. Average wait time. I get my order and can't wait to dive into my wings! Wait.....whaaaa? In my take out bowl o wings is an order of compleatly naked wings. Huh? I root around the delivery bag and find a small tub of what I assume is spicy garlic sauce, and....honestly, it blows my feeble lil mind...another tub of what can only be cajun blackened seasoning. I call Merlin's and ask to speak to a manager (God, I hate being THAT person, but at least wanna give them a chance to make it right). Right away he is unapologetic, and simply states that since I got 2 flavors in one order they didn't want the flavors getting mixed up. Uhhhhh??? Call me a newbie, but I've worked in a bunch of kitchens, and aren't you supposed to apply blackening season BEFORE the wings are baked and/or fried? Manager had 0 customer service skills (this is my wheel house, ya'll) and treated me as an inconvenience. They get one star for their pizza, which was alright. I'd say on par with any of the big box chains. Don't look for epic wings here. Honestly, I try to support local businesses, but places like this make it hard to. Save some money and get Pappa John's or Pizza Hutt. read more

Every year our family takes a one week vacation to Destin. On the first night we have always ordered from another pizza place until they let us down the last two years with screwed up orders and poorly prepared pizza. This year I did a search and found Merlins. We have a group of 21 people, meat eaters, Gluten free people and Vegans, so we have a very difficult order. Merlins hit it out of the park, first the pizza was delivered on time, actually a little early and it was hot and fresh. There was not one mistake on our 13 pizza order. I have to say the family favorite was the Polla Bella great ingredients just an outstanding pizza. This place was so good that we ordered another 13 pizzas a few nights later. You guys did an outstanding job and will have our business when we return and will tell all our friends that visit down there to check you guys out. read more

Honestly, we ordered from Merlins because it was close to where we stay in Destin and delivered, but I have to say we were pleased. We just ordered their combination pizza in a 14" and an order of cheese bread...not really the kind of order to write an in depth review. It was a mid week January evening, so not busy, but I was shocked how fast the delivery guy was at the door. It was way too much food for 2. In fact I am writing this after my second round of leftover pizza. What came was a piping hot pizza with a hefty hand tossed crust (with decent flavor) and abundant fresh toppings. The cheese bread was very good and frankly could have been a meal itself. We added a side of marinara. They offer a number of bread choices that we may try next time....and there will be a next time. I can't say how Merlins rates to other in town choices but I have no problem recommending it when you are hungry for pizza and want it delivered. read more

We ordered a medium pepperoni and onion hand-tossed pizza. The restaurant told us it was about 45 minutes for delivery but I think they were there within 30 minutes. Merlins is by far my favorite place to order pizza in Destin. I know they have all different kinds of pizza, but my favorite is the meatball pizza and they have an awesome veggie pizza as well.
