I was very disappointed in the service and business practices of Merlins Pizza. I am an out of town guest at one of the many hotels that has a business relationship with Merlin's Pizza. When I offered to purchase a thank you dinner for some of the staff of the hotel, for a great week of hospitality, I was informed that they wanted Merlin's, they have had it before and enjoy the food. When they were unable to get through on the telephone, to place an order, I offered to create them an account, so they could order through the internet in the future. I paid for the order and offered to pick up, because the order said it would take 60 minutes to pick up, and delivery was not working on the website. They gave me a copy of my paid receipt, since the account is their's to use in the future. I went to pick up the dinner, which is less than 3 miles from the hotel, but traffic took 15 minutes to get there. Once there, spoke with the manager about the situation and that the hotel has a pricing relationship with Merlin's and explained that the order was placed online, due to not being able to call in. The manager informed me that their phones were down and apologized. The manager then checked with the ownership group of Merlin's about adjusting the bill for the employees and I was told that since the order was online and their relationship is for Merlin's to deliver so that their delivery vehicle is seen to be a form of to advertisement they would not be able to honor the request for a receipt adjustment, based upon their relationship. I was willing to still go forward with the purchase, but now we are over 30+ minutes into the time of the initial order and the order has yet to go to cooking stage and furthermore, it would be another 60 minutes wait, as the staff told this to others waiting for orders. I ultimately cancelled, the order, went to a nearby restaurant offering the same type of food requests and was able to provide dinner for a great well deserving staff, that are often overlooked looked at hotels. I am writing this review to point out the first rule of the service industry, "When are unable to deliver satisfactory service, you go above and beyond to satisfy the request of the consumer, when possible." read more

Cheesy bread was good once warmed up (forgot additional dip we ordered though). Great service and amazing pizza. We had a large group (4 adults and 6 teenagers/college kids) and ordered a xl supreme, lg buffalo chicken and Med bbq chicken pizza and salad. The waitress came out to see if we needed a to go box and nothing was left. Our waitress was very attentive. The killer hot sauce (habaneros) was a big hit with my boy friend, they had no more in stock and she let him add $$ on to the tip and take the bottle from the table. The lunch by the slice deal doesn't do them any justice in my opinion. Maybe just when I've gotten the lunch deal it seems ok, but a fresh pie from there is pretty damn good. I have to agree with a recent review saying that customer service isn't exactly the greatest, but they have really good pizzas, and always seem really busy at night. I have indeed been quoted one time, and show up a little afterwards just so I don't have to wait, only to wait because they are either extremely busy or incompetent, but with the flavor of the pizza, I'm going for busy. The Meaty pizza is my go to (with onions), and it is very filling. It might not be the best pizza I've ever had, but around here, its pretty hard to find anything better. read more

After a long day of beachin', we were STARVING! We couldn't find anything open to feed my picky family. Thankfully we passed this work of art. The pizza was AMAZING my family was in love with the cheesy bread. My son is already talking about getting more tonight. Best *DELIVERY* pizza in Destin. They use good ingredients and have some neat options. The Italian Salad is pretty good. I usually stick to the Meaty pizza but they have good "specialty" and "gourmet" pizzas. When it comes to delivery, I definitely prefer Merlin's. Its good, and its local. Edit: some have seemed to reference my first sentence in newer reviews. Let me clarify, there is better pizza in Destin, but it cannot be *delivered*. Merlins and Fat Mo's are the only places that are local and that deliver. Between the two (because who needs to review a Dominos or Pizza Hut), Merlins is the best. Also, if you come to Destin during a spring break week and receive your pizza within an hour, that is 5 star service. Keep things in perspective, folks. read more

While visiting & living in this whole entire area, since before 2008, spanning from Fort Walton Beach to Santa Rosa Beach - this place is top notch. When out of town and craving pizza, I look for local places on yelp. While in Destin FL, I was at the hotel and was worn out from work and didn't want to go out to dinner. I saw the reviews on Merlin's Pizza and decided to order from them. I called them up and asked some questions about the different House Specialties pizzas. I was leaning towards the Seafood Pizza, but interested in the Lasagna Pizza. I asked some questions the person taking my order suggested ordering half and half, which sounded awesome. The order was placed and I figured it was going to take awhile for it to get to the room, but I had a knock on the door within 30 minutes of the order and it was as ordered. I paid the driver and tipped well as I was on crutches and didn't hesitate to assist me with setting it up in the room. We opened it up and it looked and smelled awesome! I tried the seafood pizza first, which was loaded down with shrimp and crab. I thought it would come light with toppings, but it was well built and tasted great. I actually ate a second seafood slice before I even thought about the Lasagna pizza. When I got to the lasagna pizza, it was good, but required the crushed red peppers and grated parmesan cheese to make it better. Overall, I was very satisfied with both pizzas, one more than the other, and will order again the next time I am staying in Destin. Must Try! read more

I read a couple of online reviews from another website (no reviews were posted here) & decided to roll the dice Merlin's. I ordered two pizzas, a small pepperoni & a large pepperoni, mushroom, & green pepper pizza. Both were thin crust pizzas & with a nice crispy crust & fresh ingredients. I drove to pick them up & they were ready in under 15 minutes, although they also deliver. They close at 10pm & I arrived there after 9 & the pies were still freshly made. Friendly staff amazing pizza. Their cheese bread is hands down best I've ever had. They offer a guarantee that if you have a bad experience with a "corporate" pizza chain they will take the uneaten portion and replace it with a large of their own. We were in Destin on our honeymoon. Destin is fun but a little expensive when it comes to dining out and we were on a major budget. I saw the sign, looked up reviews and decided that it was better than that magic mushroom place. We went in, ordered and waited. The employees were friendly and offered us drinks while we waited. I saw the owner/manager around and he was very involved with everything. I like that. We got our pizza and went back to the condo. The standard pepperoni was flavorful and had lots of cheese.
