Great pizza and even with Covid and being short handed, they're the best pizza in town!

The lunch by the slice deal doesn't do them any justice in my opinion. Maybe just when I've gotten the lunch deal it seems ok, but a fresh pie from there is pretty damn good. I have to agree with a recent review saying that customer service isn't exactly the greatest, but they have really good pizzas, and always seem really busy at night. I have indeed been quoted one time, and show up a little afterwards just so I don't have to wait, only to wait because they are either extremely busy or incompetent, but with the flavor of the pizza, I'm going for busy. The Meaty pizza is my go to (with onions), and it is very filling. It might not be the best pizza I've ever had, but around here, its pretty hard to find anything better. read more

Great pizza. Local dive. Just our style and atmosphere. The food was really really good. We shared pepperoni pizza, salad and spaghetti we all really enjoyed it and the price was just right as compared to other local eateries. My tummy and wallet thanks Merlin! read more

Pretty good, the hand tossed slightly too doughy for my liking, wish we had tried the thin crust. Pms with spinach was very good so was pepperoni explosion defiantly more greasy. Delivery was prompt and friendly. read more

Best *DELIVERY* pizza in Destin. They use good ingredients and have some neat options. The Italian Salad is pretty good. I usually stick to the Meaty pizza but they have good "specialty" and "gourmet" pizzas. When it comes to delivery, I definitely prefer Merlin's. Its good, and its local. Edit: some have seemed to reference my first sentence in newer reviews. Let me clarify, there is better pizza in Destin, but it cannot be *delivered*. Merlins and Fat Mo's are the only places that are local and that deliver. Between the two (because who needs to review a Dominos or Pizza Hut), Merlins is the best. Also, if you come to Destin during a spring break week and receive your pizza within an hour, that is 5 star service. Keep things in perspective, folks. read more

Well I am new to the Destin area , Destin proper at least... And I think I found the best pizza place that I have ever enjoyed from merlins pizza right on airport road. While visiting & living in this whole entire area, since before 2008, spanning from Fort Walton Beach to Santa Rosa Beach - this place is top notch. Great price for the amount of toppings and pizza size with the amazing taste to match. Customer service was amazing. I usually write long reviews but superfluous text is not needed here. Eat here. I visit Santa Rosa Beach at least twice a year & on my last trip here I was looking for a decent pizza spot for late night carry-out. I read a couple of online reviews from another website (no reviews were posted here) & decided to roll the dice Merlin's. I ordered two pizzas, a small pepperoni & a large pepperoni, mushroom, & green pepper pizza. Both were thin crust pizzas & with a nice crispy crust & fresh ingredients. I drove to pick them up & they were ready in under 15 minutes, although they also deliver. They close at 10pm & I arrived there after 9 & the pies were still freshly made. The place might not past the "Look Test" but the pizza here doesn't disappoint. TWO THUMBS UP!! read more

Friendly staff amazing pizza. Their cheese bread is hands down best I've ever had. They offer a guarantee that if you have a bad experience with a "corporate" pizza chain they will take the uneaten portion and replace it with a large of their own. We were in Destin on our honeymoon. Destin is fun but a little expensive when it comes to dining out and we were on a major budget. I saw the sign, looked up reviews and decided that it was better than that magic mushroom place. We went in, ordered and waited. The employees were friendly and offered us drinks while we waited. I saw the owner/manager around and he was very involved with everything. I like that. We got our pizza and went back to the condo. The standard pepperoni was flavorful and had lots of cheese. I'm really glad we went with this smaller place. I'll be back for more next year. read more

I'm giving it a 2nd star just because it was food and the delivery person was friendly and because I don't usually give a negative review unless I've visited a restaurant at least twice. We ordered two large pizzas to be delivered less than 2 miles down the road on a non-tourist-season Wednesday night. They said it would be an hour. Weird, but fine. An hour later, the pizzas arrived. They were lukewarm, almost cold. The thin crust was completely soggy. Because we were hungry and in a social setting we all nibbled and chatted. No one ate more than two pieces. I gummed through one piece. We ended up with the leftovers, which were promptly thrown in the trash because there was no way to salvage the soggy mess by reheating. If you try it - and I hope I'm wrong and the pizza is actually good - I'd recommend that you NOT order the thin crust for delivery. Maybe it's better straight from the oven. read more

Only disappointing thing about this restaurant was they wouldn't deliver 4 miles from their location. Now about the pie. This pizza is far superior to anything from your chain pizza joints. Well, well, well ... was sitting down to catch up on all our reviews from our latest family vacation and couldn't resist reviewing this local pizza joint. After a long day at the beach, we were too tired to head out for dinner so we decided we would order delivery pizza and since this was advertised on a card in our condo we opted for Merlin's. The kiddos decided on the lasagna and the hubby picked the pesto basil fettuccine. The rest of us ordered an XL 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese pizza and two side salads with plenty of ranch and Caesar dressing. We were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour for delivery - no biggie. Our total was a little under $50. The delivery was on time but when the driver came to the door he had one pizza box and one brown bag. I asked him if that was our entire order because it looked like pieces were missing and he said, "that's all they gave me". We paid, tipped him, and when I went into the condo to check we were missing all our salads and dressing. We caught the delivery guy and he said he would let them know when he got back and I called them from the condo. The manager said she would send them but it would be another 30-45 minutes. EEEK!! With a condo full of hungry people, my husband called back and explained how inconvenient this was and that we would be waiting to eat until our full order was received. They said they would get it over right away and refund our money. Well - about 20 mins later they dropped of 3 salads (still missing one salad) and two packets of FRENCH dressing. Never did we ask for French ... what the hell!! So, at that point we just cut our losses and I went down the the lobby bar in our condo and paid for dressing. NEVER again will we order from them. It doesn't matter how good the food is ... if the service is horrible it ruins your whole meal!! Oh - about the food - the pizza was pretty good (even reheated). The pastas were not as great but that's what you expect ordering pasta from a pizza joint. Hubby's was dry and servings were small. read more

1st try and it was very good pizza Had good taste and we had both types of crust. Personal I loved the thin crust. Our daughter loved the regular crust. Both our pizzas were very good. Ate here for dinner tonight, totally awesome! Don't let the location of the end of a strip mall fool you, it's great pizza! I wanted pizza and read reviews on Yelp to help me chose. We arrived about 4:30 and beat the dinner rush. We ordered the cheese breadsticks for an appetizer - I had expected more of a breadstick with cheese inside of it, but that's not what it was - it was more of a small square thick pizza minus the sauce - thick dough smothered with just the right amount of cheese and marinara for dipping. We decided on a medium thin crust pizza and well this rocked! Half sausage and mushroom and other half pepperoni and mushroom - and this is the first pepperoni pizza I've had that doesn't wring of greasiness along with it. It was perfect!
