This is our family's favorite pizza! It's a tradition on the last night of our beach trip! The pizza is so good! Get the Hawaiian!!

Well, well, well ... was sitting down to catch up on all our reviews from our latest family vacation and couldn't resist reviewing this local pizza joint. After a long day at the beach, we were too tired to head out for dinner so we decided we would order delivery pizza and since this was advertised on a card in our condo we opted for Merlin's. The kiddos decided on the lasagna and the hubby picked the pesto basil fettuccine. The rest of us ordered an XL 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese pizza and two side salads with plenty of ranch and Caesar dressing. We were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour for delivery - no biggie. Our total was a little under $50. The delivery was on time but when the driver came to the door he had one pizza box and one brown bag. I asked him if that was our entire order because it looked like pieces were missing and he said, "that's all they gave me". We paid, tipped him, and when I went into the condo to check we were missing all our salads and dressing. We caught the delivery guy and he said he would let them know when he got back and I called them from the condo. The manager said she would send them but it would be another 30-45 minutes. EEEK!! With a condo full of hungry people, my husband called back and explained how inconvenient this was and that we would be waiting to eat until our full order was received. They said they would get it over right away and refund our money. Well - about 20 mins later they dropped of 3 salads (still missing one salad) and two packets of FRENCH dressing. Never did we ask for French ... what the hell!! So, at that point we just cut our losses and I went down the the lobby bar in our condo and paid for dressing. NEVER again will we order from them. It doesn't matter how good the food is ... if the service is horrible it ruins your whole meal!! Oh - about the food - the pizza was pretty good (even reheated). The pastas were not as great but that's what you expect ordering pasta from a pizza joint. Hubby's was dry and servings were small. read more

Superb pizza! Kris provided great service. Make sure you get hand tossed, loved the taste of the cheese. Only complaint is if you dine in they give you cheap plates, so if you use fork and knives it leaves a mark in the plate. read more

The bbq pulled pork pizza was very yummy! They gave me the wrong dessert but that's ok I ate it anyway. I love to try new places when I travel and this one hit the spot! read more

1st try and it was very good pizza Had good taste and we had both types of crust. Personal I loved the thin crust. Our daughter loved the regular crust. Both our pizzas were very good. A little pricy but than again it's better. Much better than papa Johns pizza or Domino's pizza . I would recommend their pizza for a good taste. read more

2 women that work here were rude. Disrespectful towards a family that has a stroller in here. Rude when I asked questions about the pizza. Couldn't figure out their names but simply rude. read more

This place has awesome pizza. It's almost like a deep dish, but not greasy. Price was decent too, around $25 for two specialty medium pizzas with delivery. The gentleman who delivered was so nice, and thanked us profusely for a tip that was only 20%. We were so impressed with him and the quality of the food, I wrote an email to the owner. He responded right away and even said that since my husband's name is Merlin, it would only be appropriate he get a Merlin's Pizza tshirt, on the house. We went by the next day to get his shirt, and the ladies there were so nice to me and appreciative of my positive feedback. I even bought myself a shirt! I am so impressed with all the employees I encountered here at Merlin's. They really try to go above and beyond. I will definitely come back when we are in Destin, and wish we had a Merlin's pizza in Austin! read more

Great people, good pizza! The young man working the register is helpful and has a great, friendly attitude. Some of the booths have individual small flat screen tv's, so we were able to watch a program of our choice,while we ate. Our pepperoni, mushroom and green olive pizza was fresh, hot ,and only took about 20 minutes to arrive. We were there during a 'non touristy' week (April 13th), so it was not crowded, though it looked like quite a few people were coming in to pick up to-go orders. Our hand tossed pizza was the perfect thickness for us, as we like pizza thin, but not cracker thin. When we asked, they told us their thin crust is Very thin, if that's your favorite crust. The outer crust of the hand tossed is thicker,but we enjoyed it like a breadstick. Next time, I would add extra sauce to our pizza,and it would be nearly perfect. Hubby wanted to try this place out so we did. It's a small restaurant located next to Subways and near a huge beer store. Anyways, the restaurant is small but clean, had inside seating tables and booths. Was greeted and served immediately. Each booth had a small flat screen tv and you could watch different channels for the guests. Ordered the cheese bread as an appetizer and that was awesome, cheesy gooeyness with a buttery crunchy edge and hint of garlic (just right ) served with marinara dipping sauce. Pizzas were made fresh, hubby got the seafood pizza which had crabmeat, shrimp, and scallions. I got the cheese with thin crust. Everything tasted good and fresh. This place is nothing fancy (dishware consisted of thin paper plates, plastic ware and plastic cups). Not the place for anything romantic but a good pizza joint none the less. Love this place. It's a must stop every time we are in Destin. Wish we had one in Ohio. Just something about their pizza that is better than any other. Have had both hand tossed and thin crust. Both are great. Cheese is so gooey and just tops your pizza just right. Again wish had one in Ohio. Just have to wait another year to get my Merlins pizza fix. read more

I had the Garden Salad, Hot Wings and a medium hand tossed pizza with combo supreme and Hawaiian laua. I'm told that I often make comments on how a certain dish could be improved blah blah blah...so does that mean I'm picky?? Lol but wow I was surprised. Salad was very fresh, pizza was just delicious from the crust to the generous amount of toppings, wings oh my god...good flavor, the right amount of heat and cooked just right. Very good, fast service. Just a little local eatery, more carry-out and delivery than dine-in. But we enjoyed eating here. They had the radio tuned to a great station--102.1, I believe. My hubby and I enjoyed a combo special of pizza and wings. Great tasting food. The only downside was that they only served Pepsi products. We don't do Pepsi, so we had ice water. I couldn't drink mine due to the taste. But we found out that they carry Diet Mountain Dew, which is pretty good, so it turned out well. Try this local pizza place. I'm giving it a 2nd star just because it was food and the delivery person was friendly and because I don't usually give a negative review unless I've visited a restaurant at least twice. We ordered two large pizzas to be delivered less than 2 miles down the road on a non-tourist-season Wednesday night. They said it would be an hour. Weird, but fine. An hour later, the pizzas arrived. They were lukewarm, almost cold. The thin crust was completely soggy. Because we were hungry and in a social setting we all nibbled and chatted. No one ate more than two pieces. I gummed through one piece. We ended up with the leftovers, which were promptly thrown in the trash because there was no way to salvage the soggy mess by reheating. If you try it - and I hope I'm wrong and the pizza is actually good - I'd recommend that you NOT order the thin crust for delivery. Maybe it's better straight from the oven. read more

Only disappointing thing about this restaurant was they wouldn't deliver 4 miles from their location. Now about the pie. This pizza is far superior to anything from your chain pizza joints. This pizza is THE BEST PIZZA in Destin! Highly advise eating here. Had jalapeño cheese bread, pepperoni explosion, meat, and Philly cheese pizzas and all of them were top notch. We arrived about 4:30 and beat the dinner rush. We ordered the cheese breadsticks for an appetizer - I had expected more of a breadstick with cheese inside of it, but that's not what it was - it was more of a small square thick pizza minus the sauce - thick dough smothered with just the right amount of cheese and marinara for dipping. We decided on a medium thin crust pizza and well this rocked! Half sausage and mushroom and other half pepperoni and mushroom - and this is the first pepperoni pizza I've had that doesn't wring of greasiness along with it. It was perfect!
