There's a salon on the other side of the building if you want that. I was a walk-in, no problem. Weekday around lunchtime, so only 1 guy cutting hair. Apparently there are up to three sometimes. While I was in the chair, two other patrons showed up. They didn't have to wait long. The place seemed clean and orderly. I received a good haircut. He took his time, and paid attention to detail. My wife had no complaints after (she always critiques my cuts). It was a bit pricey ($24) if you're a patron of Supercuts or Fantastic Sam's, but not out of line with others like Sports Clips. No coupons or punch cards, either. A shave would have been extra. The guy was friendly (I spaced his name - older guy). No masking. He didn't wear one, and I couldn't because I was getting a haircut. His service was usually good (although not always consistent), but today was the last day I will ever go to him. I booked an appointment the day before for 10:00 AM today. Last night at 8:30 pm, he changed today's appointment to half an hour later. Although this was very little notice, I was still able to make it. We exchanged pleasantries, and he began work. During the haircut I politely asked him if he can please not change my booking in the future, because it's hard for me to make it work on time if it's booked to a later time. Instead of him apologizing for inconveniencing me, he said, "You have to understand. I have a life outside of work, and I had to take care of something this morning." Being in customer service, I was shocked he didn't even acknowledge that his last minute rebooking caused me problems, and instead talked to me like someone too dumb to know he has commitments outside of his job. I mentioned that he listed his appointment availability with a 10:00 AM opening online, and said most people would normally figure he was available during that time. He replied, "you're the only one who complains about me rebooking the appointment." Granted, this is the second time he has rebooked me in the last few months, but I have always been polite and simply asked him what happened, since he figured he didn't owe an explanation either time. Bruce finished the conversation by saying, "I have customers always asking things from me such as having me come in on my days off, but I've learned not to accommodate them." I told him that I wasn't doing any of these things, and I simply asked if he could not reschedule me whenever possible. During the haircut, Bruce cut his finger with his scissors, and I saw a drop of blood on his finger. Since she was continuing to work on my hair with a bloody finger, I asked him if needed to take a moment and bandage it, but Bruce said it didn't break the skin so it's fine. A moment later he stopped and bandaged it. After the haircut, Bruce completely turned away from me and said, "see you next time." No, he won't. As a final word, this isn't the first time he behaved unprofessionally. A few months ago, while cutting my hair, he was on the phone with the credit card company during the entire haircut, arguing about a payment and also being put on hold. Yes, he did that. And no, he didn't apologize for it and barely even felt he owed an explanation.
