Wanted to express my thanks to everyone at TheKey in the Clemson/Salem SC area. When my mother…read moresuddenly took ill and needed 24/7 care temporarily ,I called them a bit frazzled and they put together a team very quickly. This was done on Thanksgiving week! Everyone they sent was so kind, friendly and attentive. There were household chores and doctors appointments (some that were not close) that they had to help with and did it all with smiles. Apart from a few scheduling issues, everything ran smoothly. Again, many thanks to them.

We have been using TheKey (San Jose) for 24 hour care since October 2022. Aside from a couple of…read morereliable caregivers, we have had poor quality of care exacerbating an already stressful situation. There does not appear to be a matching process or vetting. There has not been alignment between caregivers, staffing manager, and care manager causing confusion, multiple miscommunications, poor continuity of care and additional stress. Calendars (if we get an updated one) are never accurate and there does not appear to be accountability for who is responsible for what. My family has had almost no peace of mind during this difficult time and I have spent countless hours managing problems with both caregivers and Keys leadership multiple times a week. Two night caregivers have slept through multiple call button rings, two caregivers have no showed, one caregiver walked around the house all night keeping everyone awake. After asking the care manager all this week to verify coverage for this weekend, another no show tonight - Christmas weekend. These are only a few examples of problems that have occurred in a short period of time. Why not fire The Keys? Easier said than done. While my parents have me advocating for them, it's sad to think about other vulnerable elderly folks that need support and are being taken advantage of by what appears to be incompetent leadership and a poor for profit business model. For the amount of money Keys charges, service should be seamless. Do better. You are certainly not helping older adults live well in their own homes or improving their quality of lives. We know that stress and lack of sleep exacerbate medical problems. Sadly, The Keys has succeeded in accomplishing this.

I have been seeing Dr. Patterson for several years for migraines due to cervical spinal stenosis…read more She is an amazing doctor. She is personable, very knowledgeable, and empathic. Because I can only see my pain doctor once a year for help with the stenosis thanks to my insurance, Dr. Patterson suggested Botox injections, which have been a life-saver for me. I highly recommend Dr. Patterson at this practice.

During our first visit, we arrived 30 minutes early; however, after being placed in an exam room,…read morewe waited an additional 1.5 hours to be seen. I had to follow up twice with staff just to address the delay, which was both frustrating and concerning. At our second visit, we were informed that imaging could not be completed due to an issue with your equipment, requiring us to seek services at another office. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and delayed my mother's care. During the third visit, although we were seen promptly, the physician appeared more focused on concluding the appointment than ensuring we fully understood the recommended outpatient procedure. I had to repeatedly request clarification regarding the risks and details so we could make an informed decision. Our fourth visit was the most concerning. We arrived at approximately 8:03 AM got to front desk at 8:08 AM, delayed only due to difficulty finding parking and safely assisting my elderly, currently disabled mother from the car into her wheelchair. Despite explaining this, the front office staff enforced a strict "zero-minute late policy" and refused to check whether the physician could still see us--even though the visit was simply to review results. Given the circumstances, the lack of flexibility, empathy, and basic consideration for a disabled patient was unacceptable. After this experience, we left without rescheduling. It is deeply disappointing that my mother has had to endure these ongoing issues. The repeated pattern of excessive delays, poor communication, equipment failures, and lack of compassion reflects a serious breakdown in both operational efficiency and patient care standards. What is particularly concerning is that these issues have consistently occurred during visits with Dr. Charlie, indicating a troubling lack of resolution despite multiple encounters. This experience falls well below the level of care, professionalism, and empathy that patients and their families should reasonably expect. Additionally, these concerns extend beyond a single provider. The repeated issues involving front office staff, nursing, and physicians point to a broader systemic breakdown in communication, coordination, and the overall patient experience.
