We have gone twice for dinner since they opened and are already planning on reserving the gathering room for a joint birthday party this spring! I need to take a picture of the presentation on the smoky old-fashioned. It is impressive and delicious! Everything we have tried has been great although the carnitas were slightly fattier than we would have preferred. The corn chili chowder was so good! Tacos and ceviche have been top-notch, street corn is unique, tyaludas (Mexican pizza) has been good both times. Tonight we shared a dessert and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Mexican chocolate mousse! All of the servers and hostesses who have helped us have been friendly and helpful with recommendations. Had lunch there this past weekend. Service was mediocre, no offer to refill drinks at any point. The food came out fairly quickly. Had the chips and salsa flight. Salsas were good, chips were not restaurant quality, especially for $10. Also had the burrata and corn dip(?). Had a big hunk of cold burrata at the bottom of a warm creamed corn. Was not sure how to eat it and the burrata adds nothing to the flavor of the rest of the dip. Did not like the baked chips served with it, bland and kind of chewy. Pita chips or regular chips would be better We had tacos, pricey and small, but good. Had to order beans and rice separately, but they were tasty. I think there is potential for good things with this restaurant if they tweak the menu a bit. Great ambiance. read more

I got the Mahi Mahi tacos that came with pineapple that was rock hard (I know it's out of season but this was bad). The beans and rice were mediocre and our churros were very raw on the inside. The Happy Hour tacos were very filling. We tried the carnitas, Barbacoa and the vegetarian nopales. We also ordered the Peruvian chicken, the skirt steak churasco and the Thursday night special Pupusas. All of our food was delicious. For desert we tried Tres leches Horchata cake. The desert had a little too much cinnamon sprinkled on it but was enjoyed. Coffee was ordered with our dessert but it didn't make it to our table until the dessert was totally consumed. We were finally able to try this new restaurant. I had heard the line could be long, so I decided to call and see if they took reservations and they do. This place has a bright and up beat decor and is a nice change from our usual Mexican restaurant. They offer some very good margaritas with all freshly squeezed ingredients and not premade mixers. We had a few of their individual tacos, the sweet plantains, street corn, salsa trio and guacamole. The nopales and mushroom taco was my fave and the carnitas taco was my husbands fave. It's good to know we now have another great local place to put on our rotation. We will be back. read more

We (3) went for a light dinner last Saturday. The very first impression I got was that the staff person that I held the front door open for was unappreciative of the effort. Overall, the staff seemed less than enthusiastic, maybe they were getting geared up for the evening rush, but subdued would probably be an overstatement. We ordered some drinks and the salsa flight, birriaqueso tacos, grilled mesa chicken tacos, and a could of happy hour tacos. Our salsa flight and meals arrived on fairly short order. When I was eating my second (maybe third?) mesa chicken taco, I noticed that the chicken was not cooked. It wasn't slightly under, it was RAW. Pretty much ended my appetite for the evening. When our server next appeared, I told her about my chicken and she related that to another worker. He may have been a manager, it was a little unclear. In any case, they certainly weren't very concerned and said they'd remove my meal from the ticket, which they did. However, they certainly said our did nothing to make me feel like this was an isolated event, or that they were going to speak to the kitchen about what happened. I left with the distinct impression that this probably happens a fair amount at this restaurant and they have adopted a laissez faire attitude toward customers that may have contracted food poisoning from eating there. :shrug: read more

The food was disappointing and made me sick all evening after we left. The shrimp were so small and kind of dry. The chips with the guacamole tasted store bought and really dry. Wouldn't serve these at my house. The guacamole was good. I had a margarita but couldn't taste any tequila. Not sure why I would come back here. read more

Service was impressive. Food and cocktails were super yummy. I have an avocado allergy and expressed concern about the tomatillo salsa as it was so creamy. The decor, food and atmosphere were fine. The issue was our server, who made no eye contact and was so disinterested in us and our orders, that she stood pouting in a corner. We thought it was just us, but when the hostess sat anyone her section, she would let out a groan, shake her head and acted aloof at all the tables we saw her at attend. We weren't asked if we wanted additional drinks, water, or dessert. All in all she was at our table twice in 2 hours. The food was served by, and an additional side order was taken by kitchen staff, as the server was MIA. We eat out probably 4 times a week and it's been a long time since we have suffered such poor service. One additional hint for her, as a server, don't play with your nose ring then approach a table and not wash your hands. Yuck! read more

We tried this place a few weeks ago and will definitely be back! The spiked horchata was amazing, and everything we ordered was delicious. We had the salsa flight and burrata and corn esquite for appetizers and the four of us in our group loved everything. My husband and I had the carnitas tacos and Spanish risotto and shrimp for dinner and those were great too. This is one of the best Mexican places I've been to in a while. We can't wait to go back! The service was also great (we hung around a little and visited with no pressure to leave), and we had a great time. Ambiance was great, but unfortunately the food was a let down. I love guacamole, but theirs had too much lime and not enough flavor. The Spanish Risotto Shrimp was again overpowered by too much lime and not enough flavor otherwise. It was bland. The Peruvian Brick Chicken was a nice presentation. The potatoes of this dish were prepared well and tasty. The rest of this plate was just plain on flavor. My husband ordered the Skirt Steak Churasco. He said it was just ok. He prefers it at other places. The service was good. They were quite busy. This was about 6 weeks ago and they had a lot of guests trying this restaurant out. Beautiful restaurant! We were excited to try it out. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately, we had a reservation. Two out of the four of us enjoyed our meals, food was mid. Service was no good at all. Waters were never refilled. Bar drinks took so long that we cancelled our second round after waiting 20 mins.
