My husband and I dropped in for a casual dinner date last night. The weather was perfect so the patio felt really good and it wasn't too busy which was nice. We ordered a chicken and steak fajitas plate and briskett tacos. The meal was good, no complaints - would definitely eat here again. In fact I am looking forward to trying their brunch. This is definitely a 3.5 place based upon my one experience. The server was nice, prices were reasonable. Here's where I would rank them in regard to their genre in the local area. Mi Dia is my fave but definitely the priciest. Glorias is 2nd. I think they have the edge as far as fajita flavor and I like their salsa and rice better. Also their corn tacos are much crispier, which I prefer. This place is a solid 3rd though and the most affordable. Everyone else in the area is not worth the mention imo. read more

Throughout the day, I was hungry for a juicy steak. When I drove past by Mesa today, I told myself next time. Then I realized I had always been saying next time. The warning "Caution - Hot" next to Camarones a la Diabla caught my attention. It sounded ideal to counteract the miserable, soggy weather outside. My waiter warned me that it was very spicy. The ingredient mistakenly listed jalapeño when it should be habanero. He warned the dish is hot enough to cause diners to sweat. Fortunately, the combination of the rice and beer helped to counteract the heat from the sauce. As I had not eaten much today, I had plenty of room for dessert. Rather than provide a menu, my waiter just listed the dessert items. If I was given that menu, I would have known the Chocolate Raspberry Cake was to be topped with mini chocolate chips. Unfortunately, mine was lacking those mini chips. Lastly, the menu suggests to ask about the craft beer of the month. Unless you want a non-Mexican craft beer, I would skip that recommendation and get the Pacifico. read more

Stopped in because the place we wanted to go had a long stretching out if it. This place was not crowded at all so we were a bit worried. However, the margaritas with on point! And the food was rather tasty. My only caveat was the chicken fajitas- the plate they brought it out on was way too hot so the veggies tasted burnt. Worst experience ever! Do not come here if your trying to have a nice relaxing dinner. It is over run with kids and their parent's & management let them act however they want.. now on to the service. The only person that made me feel welcomed was the lady who delivered our chips. She actually acknowledged us and said hi how are you. The host, our server, and Manny the manager were not courteous at all. Now the food/drinks.. the frozen Margarita tasted like lemon lime Gatorade; disgusting! I had two sips and it turned my stomach. My chopped salad was more like a cob salad. Why call it chopped then? My daughter had a quesadilla that was dripping with grease. When asked for a business card or corporate phone number, the host laughed in my face and told me we don't have corporate ma'am. If a customer is physically and verbally telling you that they are frustrated maybe don't laugh in their face? I have worked in the service industry for 15+ years and this was the worst experience I have ever had. We came in to have a nice meal and my blood was boiling due to the whole experience. I didn't love it here. I didn't have any preconceived notions and didn't read any reviews before I went. When we got there it didn't seem overly crowded but we couldn't get seated until they found another menu. One was available but I guess one wasn't. After we ordered drinks and appetizers but before we even ordered the entree, a lady came by and took one of the menus. Maybe there's a menu shortage? It wasn't a big deal, it just stood out to me as weird. The food wasn't spectacular and although I went very recently I can't even remember exactly what I ordered. Nothing stood out. I live near this restaurant and from the outside, it did not look very appealing - however once inside it is quite impressive. They have a nice bar and large space for dining along with a nice patio area. I've only been here for dinner but am looking forward to retur for brunch. Their elote dish is fantastic and large enough for two people to share. My husband had a chile relleno which came out with some problems (burned cheese) but it was corrected very quickly. I had a fish dish and it was really good. Their margaritas were tasty, not too sweet and strong - like I like them. Their server was extremely attentive and gave great recommendations. Only positive is the beer is cold. Salsa is meek, and food is what I would expect from fast food drive through. The street tacos are not steak, they are some sort of pot roast cute in cubes. First thing you notice in the dining room are the lights. They are really bright. Would create a better ambiance by dimming them some. The bar has the right lighting. We had the ribeye and the Don Diego. My wife loved the steak as it was cooked perfectly. Vegetables had nice firm texture. My Don Diego was a beef taco and a cheese enchilada. Both were good, although the beef in the taco could have had a little more spice. Enchilada had lots of onions, which is a good thing. Our server was friendly and attentive. We found Mesa Mexican grill. Upon walking in, you'll find the atmosphere to be colorful and nicely decorated. Their menu embraces almost everything from tacos, burritos to chimichangas. We started off with street corn that has roasted corn with Mexican cheese, chili powder and sour cream. I normally am not a fan of this. But it tasted so good, I could t help myself. I had the Don Diego that has 1 cheese enchilada and a taco with rice and beans. My wife had flautas which as rolled up and deep fried stuffed with chicken and flavors. The rice was good and the only disappointment was the beans as I expected Charro beans (Pinto beans) but we got black beans instead. For next time, we will ask for the Mexican beans. Great place. Quick to seat us our large group on a Friday night. We got to sit in a room that had mesh windows so we got some fresh air which felt great! This was my first time here and I must say it's pretty yummy! The serving sizes are also great! Chips were fresh and warm. I love a thick warm chip. The salsa was okay in my opinion. I also had the house margarita, which I was kinda iffy on st first BUT it was yummy and it was a creeper lol I love a drink that the alcohol just sneaks up on you lol For lunch my best friend ordered a salad which she said was amazing and they gave a lot of avocado AND DIDNT CHARGE EXTRA! I ordered the brisket sandwich. I'm not a sandwich or burger person so it's very rare that I ever go in this direction. However, everything about it was yummy! We dined here for the first time tonight and it was pretty bad. The food was bland and expensive but most of my issue was that we found not 1 but 2 different color hairs in different food items. I brought it to the waitresses attention and she was very kind and apologetic. She went to tell the manager and came back to give us the quesadilla for free or remake it. The manager never came to speak to us and why on earth would I want remade food after the first 2 times it had hair? The waitress was so kind but the fact that the manager never came to even speak to us really is bad business. Still paid $75 for poor quality and hairy food read more

We ventured off the beaten path to Mesa and were not disappointed. We started off with margaritas- lots of choices, but chose the spicy jalapeño and a customized version of the spicy margarita and both were amazing! While we waited on our food we were served a deliciously warm chip and salsa appetizer on the house. It tasted very fresh and both the chips and the salsa were served warm. The menu has a ton of options. We chose to split the beef and chicken fajitas with a side of queso and were not disappointed. This place rocked it for lunch. My office is not very far from this place and I've been driving past it for several months and I have finally decided to give it a try. I was sure glad that I did. They have a beautiful interior which was a welcome surprise from the exterior which was not shabby but I just didn't expect it to be a special as it was on the inside. I would not describe them as Tex-Mex but more true Mexican. And they capture that Essence from the moment you walk in the door. This being my first visit I kept it pretty basic and got the order of three Mexican street tacos that came with rice and beans. You have your choice of types of tacos and I got two chicken and one beef taco. The chicken to me was far better than the steak taco but they were both good. As me and my lunch partner took our first bites we both looked at each other and smiled and said "this is a repeater" .
