Tracy will prescribe multiple drugs and not know side effects. She was condescending from the 1st visit but I thought it was quirky. In my third visit with her, today, I had to literally walk out and won't be back! I asked other staff if she was just having a bad day. So consistently condescending but today she was actually rude. I asked about side effects of a particular drug she stated no one had ever complained to her before and dismissed my question. Then when I asked her to clarify something she got irritated with me and started with more condescension. If you don't agree with her she will belittle you into thinking you're the one that's wrong rather than explaining like most doctors! No thanks! Update: 04/15/26 - I spoke with Dr Gilli on the phone and it's seems they are somewhat flippant and unapologetic in their attitude towards the situation. I don't feel comfortable with this response that she "always" treats patients with respect after I conveyed the opposite in a professional manner over the phone. This was damage control gone wrong imo. Black box warnings are serious and it's too bad this Dr. doesn't care to make any changes as she is a 25 year employees with the company. He's got her back regardless. I appreciate the call back but it's clear his attitude is just like hers. They don't care. read more

Let me begin by saying, WOW!! I have tried for the last year to find a Primary Care in town. And without luck I decide to keep my dr in Pasadena. Yes Pasadena. I never thought I would actually find someone who I felt cared and were fully equipped with the superior customer survive. Well after my husband's visit to the ER for emergency heart surgery. These good reviews must be fake. The staff is the rudest most inactively lazy and very condescending. I have had so many urgent things come up with my father and there is NO sense of urgency or care. The doctor has NO input, just orders some tests and then offers no solutions. I can't tell you how many senior facilities, neighbors, home health care people and patients tell me how awful this doctor is. Many other practitioners even say "no comment." Please save your loved one from coming here. Waste of energy and time. They only care about money and I swear I cannot stand their staff. Horrible people. read more

I love Mesa West medical. Doctor Gilli is great because I have medical issues and he always makes sure I'm doing the right things to keep me healthy. His staff is awesome. Always on the ball with everything I need. But his assistant Cee Cee is OMG the best person in the world. She was able to get me home medical equipment so I can test at home and take my blood pressure and weight myself and everything gets transmitted to their office everytime I use them. She is my angle that calls me at least once a week to check up on me. Today I went to the office and she gave me a diabetic cook book. What other place would care that much about your health. I think God each day for Cee Cee. She's so kind and really does care about you as a person, not just another chart number. I've been coming here for basically 4 years now. They are always happy to see me and are very nice! Haven't never had a bad experience and have always been quite happy with the medical care I've received. I've gad 5 surgeries this year and have been amazed at how the bend over backwards to make sure I'm doing ok. This place is pretty great. Sometimes I show up late or try to schedule a day or two in advance, and they can pretty much make it work for me every time. The staff are kind, and Kevin does a good job hearing out what I have going on, and finding the proper treatment for it. My whole family goes to see him. Once or twice, I did have to wait a considerable amount of time longer than 20 minutes, but I could definitely attribute that to factors like me showing up late or what have you. read more

This was my first appointment at Mesa West Medical Group. The women at the front were very kind and helpful with answering any and all of my questions. As I was walked to the back all of the walls were covered with University of Southern California memorabilia, which was so awesome to me! The nurse was very nice and thorough with asking questions for the doctor. I didn't catch her name but I really liked her. Dr. Gilli came in shortly after and is such a nice man! He was very attentive to me and asked many questions. He explained everything in detail that was easy to understand. He stayed in the room for a long time, unlike some doctors who rush in and out. He wanted to make sure I understood what we had discussed. I look forward to seeing Dr. Gilli for all of my medical needs. I highly recommend the Mesa West Medical Group and Dr. Gilli. I have been visiting this group of doctors for over 10 years now. I have seen either Kevin or Tracy (both are NPs) and have always had a great level of care. There can be a short wait but usually no more that 30 minutes and that's usually because of the way the run their practice and make sure that each patient gets the time they need and not feel rushed. I usually have no problems getting an appoint the same day if needed for illness or at the very least first thing the next day. If you want the least amount of wait my suggestion is to try and get one of the first appointments of the day. I see Kevin mostly these days and I like that his first go to isn't usually to prescribe something. He will try and figure out if there is a different more holistic approach first before prescribing something which I love. I have followed this office through a couple moves and love their current location near the Westside Parkway. It's always clean and the supporting staff are always friendly. It must be a true testament to how well they treat their staff when you see the same smiling and caring faces for years. I am thankful that my recent insurance change did not affect being able to come here. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you are looking for kind, caring, and helpful medical professionals to treat any of your ailments or just for a check up! read more

Dr. Gilli is a pleasant man who ostensibly cares about his patients. He delivers basic care in routine examinations but goes no farther. He failed to respond to two written letters inquiring about the need for a specific test when the testing facility he sent me to could not confirm the procedure would be covered. Covid 19 seemed to provide an excuse for telephonic exams rather than personal which was his apparent first choice. Blood labs can be assessed by most patients, at least in fundamental form, but a trained physician is be far more capable of assessing physical health issues than the patient; Dr. Gilli is happy to exact a standard office charge without being bothered with a real visit. read more

I have been going to this medical group for over 12 years now, and I've always had great experiences. Everyone is very friendly and you get the personal touch that I think is rare today for a doctors office. If you don't get your appointment at the right time there can be a wait, but that's because they're giving other patients the same personal care that you will get as well. My lupus, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, cardiac issues and gastroparesis was misdiagnosed as anxiety and anorexia by Tracy Somonsen. She was demeaning and refused to help me seek medical leave or STD. Within a week of seeing another doctor I had gained weight and improved, but her lack of care during that time has left me permanently disabled. I saw Kevin Nelson at 88 lbs. and was afraid for my life. His exact words to me were that I "didn't look like an Auschwitz victim yet so I must be ok." He then put in my chart that I'm prone to fits of crying. I'm not, and cry rarely. I've spoken to another former EDS patient of his who became disabled under his lack of treatment and care. I believe he is not just a bad medical provider, but a bad person. I have never seen Dr. Gilli, but his choice in colleagues certainly makes me question his judgement. read more

I would give a zero if I could. It was a huge hassle trying to get my prescriptions refilled. At the end my pharmacy had faxed a request for a refill on a Maintaince drug three times. Each time the pharmacy contacted me to ask me to contact the doctor personally. I contacted them twice. On the third call I complained to the office manage (who stated that she had been the office manager for over 22 years. I was completely out of my maintenance medication. When I hung up I thought the problem had been taken care of. Two days later I got a registered letter telling me that they would no longer be my primary care physician. They never filled my prescription either. Dr. Gilli is over weight and always just came into the exam room and sat behind the computer. I assumed he was taking notes. He never approached me at all. I figured he was doing the least he could for his patients, just enough to get by. His office manager was really quick to dismiss me. It was only two days from our conversation to the registered arriving at my door. I would definitely do not recommend seeing this doctor if you have any medical needs. I then transferred to Dr. Kothary's office where I have received excellent care and my scripts are always filled in a timely manner. read more

My wife came in for an appointment Friday afternoon and when Dr. Gilli saw her and found out that her blood pressure was very low and the temperature was extremely high he immediately told us that she must go to the hospital. As we found out later she was near death, in fact she was hours away from dying. Dr. Gilli and his staff saved her life. I used to like this office however they changed staff and suddenly it took forever to try to get in to see someone. The staff was rude when you asked for appointments. The last straw was when my bf got hurt and ended up in the ER. After discharge we were instructed to follow up with our primary in the next two days. Well, they told us that we had to wait a week and a half for an appointment! Even after expressing that he was just in the ER. Her reply "again, our next appointment is in a week and a half."
