    Gravy train meal.
    Keith H.

The Gravy Train meal is awesome. Two biscuits that are the size a softball each and very generous heap of gravy poured all over those two biscuits. Then you get two cage free eggs any style, which I got them poached to perfection. Then you also get a large portion of hashbrowns. Very tasty and yummy meal.

You want to come here! Food, service, and cost all were 6 stars! Plenty of parking! You can call ahead! The servers are absolutely top tier! Way more than order takers. True guides mixing menus, kitchen, and customer wants. The food flavors were way above expectations. The biscuits have to be in the top 10 of Texas restaurants. All at a great cost!

Brunch with the girls on a Tuesday! Food was excellent! Had the French toast, large was enough to share with 4 people. Service was fast and friendly, ambiance was good vibes.

We really wanted to love this place, but it is not without its shortcomings. We expected there to be a wait on a Saturday, but at least we were able to join the waitlist online. Once seated, our waitperson arrived quickly to take our order. The food took a while to come out and sadly when it arrived it was not hot. In fact it almost seemed as if it had been sitting a while before it was brought to the table. We ordered several things off the menu. The best being the French toast! It had an amazing sweet vanilla flavor and the edges were caramelized. If we return, I'll definitely go with that. The hash browns might have been amazing, had they been hot or at least warm. Lastly, the coffee underwhelmed. We had to wait on this as well, and as you might have guessed, it too was lukewarm. Nothing fancy about the decor. Pretty standard for a family-style breakfast restaurant. I hate giving poor reviews, but I always tell it like it is. I would suggest each person check it out for themselves, but as for me, I probably won't be back anytime soon.

Started brunch with a Hawaiian mimosa...good choice! I ordered the garden scramble with lots of veggies. The green peppers were not done enough for me but otherwise it was perfect. The blueberry pancake with vanilla crema and blueberry sauce- no syrup needed and it was to die for! They offered fresh decaf and excellent service. Very friendly and attentive. Busy place but T here was no wait and they seated us before the remainder of our party arrived.

I've had it with this place and I was until recently a 7-Mile loyalist. I'm so sick of paying $100 for 2 people just to get undercooked hash browns. My partner sent theirs back because they were annoyed, I just ate through mine and decided I'm going to stop coming here and stop bringing my friends and family here and find a new spot. The service is 10 out of 10 and it's got a cool vibe with a variety of different folks in here and the wait staff is amazing but I have absolutely had it with undercooked hash browns. You have two levels. 1. Undercooked 2. Burnt beyond edibility. Train your cooks, no one wants to eat raw potatoes and for an average of $15 per breakfast plate you have absolutely zero excuses.

Food overall was amazing, the service was incredible, fast sitting and when it came to bringing food to our table it was fast no time to wait or anything! our waitress was so friendly and sweet was always checking up on us and making sure we where well taken care of! overall amazing super great experience with everything first time dining and obviously returning back to this amazing restaurant! Our server was Shontal and i definitely recommend her as a server for anyone that visits the restaurant!

    Denver scramble with biscuit

Overall lackluster experience. Seven Mile Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant with several locations in DFW area. We went to the Mesquite location on a Saturday morning at 1030 and it was busy but no wait. Restaurant is fairly large and open, lots of hard surfaces so it's kinda loud. Large menu with lots of vegan and GfF options. Full coffee bar, adult bevies, and baked goods. Our server was lovely. We both ordered egg scrambles -- one Denver style, one veggie. Asked if we wanted hash browns crispy and of course we did! Food took a good amount of time to come out so be patient. Everything else we saw come out looked great! Staff were attentive while we waited and overall seemed to be providing great service. Our food was not great. Both scrambles were very watery, had a mushy texture, and were lacking in flavor. Hash browns seem to be deep fried. (That's NOT a complaint!) The biscuit and toast were good. Some of the food had a faint fishy taste. Overall very disappointing. A note on drinks -- They do not filter the water. If you are from the area, you know that sometimes the tap water can taste funky. (Imagine the smell of lake bottom.) It's really off-putting to take a drink of tea or water and it smells of pond scum. So order accordingly if that's something that bothers you.

SHOUT-OUT TO KRYSTAL!…read more My sister-in-law celebrated her 60th birthday today with a surprise party, and we had about 40 family members attend! We all arrived between 12:30-12:45, and the party started at 1:00. I have to take a moment to give credit where credit is SERIOUSLY due! Our waitress, Krystal, was absolutely AMAZING. And when I say she was doing EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING! She was the only person serving us, while also having two other tables outside of our banquet room. Yes, our food took a while to come out -- but that was absolutely NOT Krystal's fault. She was working her butt off and doing everything she possibly could. She was attentive, constantly checking on our drinks, making sure everyone was taken care of, and paying attention to every little detail. It wasn't until toward the end of the party that I realized she had been handling this entire situation ALL BY HERSELF. She told me that the banquet hadn't even been put on the manager's calendar, so she basically got thrown into a party of 40 people at the last minute. And let me tell you something, KRYSTAL ROCKED THAT SH*T! Krystal, thank you so much for everything you did for my family today. You were kind, attentive, professional, and you never made us feel like we were a burden, even though you had been handed one hell of a situation. I personally hate Red Lobster and I don't even eat seafood, BUT my family will absolutely be coming back -- and I hope they come back specifically to see YOU! You did an incredible job, and I hope your management knows how valuable you are. KRYSTAL, YOU ARE AMAZING! Thank you for taking such great care of my family today! YAY KRYSTAL! YOU GO GIRL! Someone give this woman the recognition she deserves!

We are very pleased with the speed of the service as well as the quality of the food! The cooks do a great job! And the waiters I can tell work very hard to take care of customers and the bus boys are also hustling to clear tables as fast as possible. It was all so great! I feel bad we forgot the name of our waitress but she was excellent! The place is nice inside with a lot of tables and a full bar for cocktails. There were not many options for cold coffee and the bartender attempted to make an iced americano which wasn't great and forgot to bring any type of sweetener for it. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and two over easy eggs. The chicken fried steak needed more seasoning for me but it did have a tang to it. Not sure if it's from the marinade but the tangy flavor was there. The hash browns were nice and crispy and eggs cooked perfectly. What saved the chicken fried steak was the bottle of hot sauce they had at the bar. It was not labeled so hard to tell what exactly it was but it was delicious. We also ordered biscuits and a side of gravy and I felt like that should be on the menu as a dish. The biscuits were nice and soft and the gravy had a lot of flavor. I'd definitely like to come back and try some of the sweeter options such as waffles or pancakes. If you are in the Rockwall area check this place out

Well, talk about a hidden gem. I had this place bookmarked but could not tell you where I heard…read moreabout it. It is basically a little luncheon oasis dropped right in the middle of a gigantic industrial park. On the drive over I was seriously questioning my Yelp choices. It is that kind of location. But trust Yelp and sometimes you are handily rewarded, which we absolutely were. We came after a few hours strolling around at the Botanical Gardens, so we rolled in around 1:30 and there were still plenty of people there. I can only imagine at noon this place is packed, and honestly it should be. My biggest complaint is the menus. There is one above the counter that does not include everything, and then a different, more complete version if you scan the QR code at the table (But 2 different navigations even on the website with slightly different menus). Do yourself a favor and look it up ahead of time so you are not standing there making panic decisions. There is a half sandwich and half soup combo (Not on the board but online menu), which is definitely the move. I got the pozole, which you should absolutely order, and a half grilled cheese on their housemate sourdough. Normally not my go to, but I was trying not to be completely stuffed since we had dinner plans. And they bake their own sourdough, so I had a strong feeling it would be great, and it delivered. Toasty and melty, American and cheddar. My husband got the southwestern wrap, and my friend went with the half club and half tomato soup. She immediately regretted not getting the pozole and the half birria sandwich, which tells you everything you need to know. Also need to mention the snickerdoodle. Not much to look at, kind of humble, but it completely makes up for it with flavor and that perfect soft texture. Go ahead and get the cookie. You are not here to make responsible decisions. Bottom line, it may feel like you are driving into the middle of nowhere, but keep going. This place is worth it.

We ended up here after stopping by Well Grounded Coffee Co. right down the road. I can't speak to…read morethe food there, but upon entering that location (Well Grounded), there was a strong and overwhelming malodorous scent giving off vibes of cigarettes mixed with sewage, so we promptly left and came to Ascension! Ah much much better! Ascension Coffee, in contrast, smelled pleasant and was quite clean. Our server was helpful and friendly, though we did have to indicate / flag him over to bring the check. The table seating was pretty close together/ not the most private feeling. At a table spaced next to us, a couple was having a first date and we could hear most every word without intending to just with how close the seats are, but that proved to be sort of sweet and charming. It didn't really bother us, though it was distracting from the study we were trying to do together. We ordered drinks. My tea (flirt tea) had a strong, full, unique flavor I enjoyed a lot. The mug had a striking with the geometric aesthetic, though for some reason I found every time I drank it dribbled onto the table some with the angles; still can't figure why. The art in Asenscion was very distinctive, likewise angular, and fun to take in too. It wouldn't be my first choice for coffee shops simply due to the layout; I prefer a bit more privacy when I'm seeking a coffee shop, however the service and drinks we got were really wonderful! It also was SO much of a better option for hang places than Well Grounded just from the smell factor alone. If it wasn't so oppressively hot in July when we visited, the outdoor seating looked amazing / perfect! Last minor quibble, our table was uneven/ wobbly, as were the ones next to us. This was only noticeable as we were working on a book study.
