Great service first and foremost. Very attentive and checked in on us several times to make sure we didn't need anything else and the coffee was filled. Food was great too. Great value. We ordered to poutine, pancakes and eggs. Poutine was flavorful and savory with fries that were super crispy and fresh. The toast was also warm and buttered which isn't necessarily a given at diners but they do pay attention to the details here. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Pro tip: get the home fries well-done. Absolute game changer. It was busy so we did have to wait about 30 mins. But totally worth it. We will be back! read more

Maple Leaf Diner is easily one of the best breakfast spots I've visited. The pancakes were absolutely delicious fluffy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The eggs were surprisingly outstanding as well, cooked just right and packed with flavor. I also ordered the bacon and seasoned potatoes, and both were phenomenal. The bacon was crispy and savory, while the seasoned potatoes were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. To top it all off, their desserts are truly top-tier. Everything I tried was fresh, high quality, and clearly made with care. The food was great, the waiter was really kind. The place is comfortable and great. Very busy on a Saturday morning but we still only had to wait 15 minutes so they are hustling those tables! Only thing I can say to improve was that the inside was a bit confusing. Everyone was waiting around and no one was out front. We finally tried Maple leaf and it lived up to the hype. First thing to note that we had to wait 35 minutes on a Sunday at 11:30 for party of 2. We did not about their call ahead program that is designed to keep your wait time shorter. Once we were seated service was seem less. We ordered the standard breakfast stuff, waffles, pancakes, eggs bacon and sausage. All were cooked perfectly and hot. The food quality and quantity were stellar. I would go back but call ahead. I do not think this would be a great place for large parties of 8 or more. read more

The search is over! I've been looking for the best Chicken Fried Steak in Dallas, and I think Maple Leaf Diner has everyone beat. The batter is seasoned perfectly and stays crispy without falling apart--a rare find. My fiancé and I also shared a half-order of the poutine; it was delicious, addictive, and the ideal size for two people to split. They handled my food allergies poorly, so if you have any this isn't your place. Since I saw Vegan options here on yelp, I assumed I could get something untouched by dairy. I was painfully mistaken, even though I asked and was willing even to not eat if food couldn't be made safe for me. I also brought friends from out of town and my husband. All big eaters, but no one got close to finishing their food or wanting to take their food home. We were all super excited about the reviews, but were not impressed. Love the atmosphere and the vibe of the place :) We saw how big the portion was, so we ordered 2 dish to split. i especially love the cream puff on top of the chicken, bacon and waffles, other than that, to me, it is kind of standard - nothing too outstanding. But the poutine *mm* - it was my first ever poutine. Heard so much about it but never had it. Better than expected and will definitely order again!!! Anyways, the dish portion is huge. The ambience is best described as diner diner style (busy & bustling.) We were say immediately upon entering the restaurant and greeted almost within seconds by our server after sitting at the table. I was feeling breakfast and decided to go with something including pancakes. I loved the consistency, I consider myself a pancake conoseur and their pancakes hit the spot. Instead of eggs, I substituted for their breakfast potatoes which came out hot and crispy . I was even more pleased to know they offered turkey sausage as there are some restaurants that only have pork and beef options. So that game a star in my book. Overall, I'd say the meal was very filling, delicious and freshly cooked. Our server was very attentive and kept not only our water cups filled but continued to check on us throughout our time there. What a great spot! I love that they have some familiar options with some items that are difficult to find elsewhere in the area-something for everybody! There's a long wait, but it's worth it! The food was all fresh and tasty. I'll definitely make the drive from Houston to visit this spot again. My only qualm is that their waitlist system is a bit misleading. The place has a loud, lively energy, which adds to the vibe but can be a lot if you're looking for something chill. Our server was friendly, but very busy with other tables. It took close to 20 mins just to place our order. We only ordered breakfast items this visit. Family and I wanted to try out a new brunch spot and happy we did. Full blown Canadian decor all over, with plenty of seating. Menu is massive, so many options. I got an omelette and my wife got chicken bacon and waffles, which came with cream puffs on top. The omelette was solid but the house potatoes on the side stole the show. I can only write from a perspective of a California native who is slowly becoming a Texan. I say that because there are some restaurants that I should just stay out of. This is a great restaurant. Little to nothing is what I would normally eat, but I love that they have a few healthier options. I had the half size Greek salad, which is a great portion. Since it's a breakfast place, the bulk of the menu was high carbs. I didn't mark down for that because it's a breakfast place. The food that went past me was spectacular looking. It was piled high with waffles and fried chicken and the kitchen sink was probably in there too. Someone else in my party ordered Nonna's spaghetti. It was a big enough portion for three people. It was huge! If you go there with small children, that is an ideal thing to order for all of them to share. The waitress was amazing! I'm typically a back to basics ol' skool 15% tipper, but it was easy to tip her far more than that. The look of the restaurant is fine. It's nothing fabulous but it's clean. Such a fun experience! We were meeting 2 of our adult children in Dallas for a weekend together. This restaurant just happened to be close to where we were staying. None of us have been to Canada so it was really nice to enjoy a new dining experience together. There was quite a long wait so we were thankful to have gotten on the waitlist early (about 40 minutes before we arrived). The staff were super friendly and our server was very friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. The Canadian Rueben was so good. I absolutely loved the Canadian Classic Poutine. The rest of our group had various food like blueberry pancakes, chicken strips, chicken fried chicken, and an omelet. We really wanted to try something from the bakery part, but we were stuffed. Popped in here on my way to a hair appointment in Dallas after reading really good reviews. Such a cute Canadian themed diner with such an eclectic menu. Definitely had some award winners and famous things on the menu that have been featured in TV shows so of course I had to try one. I got one that was waffles and chicken fried steak with some peppers and onions. It was fantastic. It was also huge and I could've shared it with two other people. The service was great. MY wife and I are from San Antonio TX. Every time we come to Dallas we stop at Maple Leaf Diner. The food is alway amazing, made to order and hot!!!! Oh and do. Forget about their coffee. The coffee is nectar of the GODS!!! This time on our last visit we stopped on Saturday and Sunday and more than great food we had Amazing SERVICE! Our servers were Bobby and Mauricio.
