It's exactly what you expect from a small diner! Huge menu, good food, friendly service. This one is nice and clean, no weird sticky spots! My friend has the most amazing looking waffle and bacon and I had one of the skillets. The oil that they used for the hash browns was a little much and the flavor was trying to stick out a little, but just add a little more gravy and don't worry about it. It's a diner! My mom and I went there after one of her doctors appointments. She had been there before with her sister "my aunt". My mom is aged and frail and uses a rollator to get around. They were very accommodating and helped her get situated. I had the chili and mom had the vegetable plate, with okra, beans, something else. We liked everything we had very well. I had some rolls and she had the cornbread. The rolls were good but the cornbread was awesome. If you haven't been there I recommend trying it. I want to go back for there breakfast, I'm pretty sure will also be very enjoyable. read more

Our food was delicious as it always is.But I ordered a slice of coconut cream.Pie to go to take home with me to.Eat later and was disappointed because the slice that I was cut to go was half the size of the normal portion.They give and for $5.00 for a slice of pie that I was only given half the size made me sad when I got home and opened it to take a bite. read more

While the inside is pretty crowded and probably smaller than your average diner, the wait on a busy Sunday morning was only 15 minutes. I ordered the Border Skillet with biscuits and enjoyed it. My mom went to go have breakfast like she always does there. And she had a long black hair in here food and the owner came and told her that there was no way it was from his staff because they were something on their hair however she doesn't have black hair she wasn't even trying to get another meal and wasn't trying to be rude. However they still proceeded to be rude to her mind you she's 70. We've never had an issue but being that I've been in that industry that is just rude calling my mom a liar. Took our family of 4 there for an early dinner after passing by for years. The staff is welcoming and their service is attentive. While I'm a huge fan of places that serve all-day breakfast, we had fish, fried shrimp, chicken fried steak and kids entree of Mac and cheese. Everything was stellar! The greens were the best I've ever had! The portions were generous, so we took leftovers home, but not before we placed to-go orders of banana pudding and two different types of pie - also amazing. My daughter and I stopped in at Dalrock Diner around 10:30 on a Monday morning. It was quite busy, but we were seated immediately. Our order was taken promptly, and our food was out in a decent amount of time. The food was okay, but nothing special. Once our food was out, it felt as if our server abandoned us. We had to ask twice for syrup. Our server didn't bring our ticket, so I just went up to the register without it. As I was checking out, our server was bringing me a drink refill. One of the best diners I have ever stepped foot in! We were able to get a table despite it being a full house so that was nice. It was lively and retro in décor. The service was good as well. Now the food was mediocre; we ordered chicken fried chicken & the catfish platter with mac n cheese with a side of fries as well as a chocolate malt. I saw this was a local spot in Rowlett and wanted to give it a try. We got there an hour before the closing of Dalrock Diner, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. We had ordered pancakes and hashbrowns, and the pancakes were not cooked all the way through. It was like eating cake batter in the middle when I first bit into the pancakes. We notified the waiter, and they exchanged the pancakes with waffles. The waffle was good. The employees were nice through our stay. The dinner looked like you walked into a 1960s setting. Me and my bf are suckers for classic diners and while we were in the Dallas area we came across Dalrock on Yelp. The atmosphere is decked out in vintage Coca Cola paraphernalia and checkerboard-esque floors. It definitely gave us the old school vibe we wanted to experience. The hostess and our server were extremely kind. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. First off, can't go wrong with their coffee. Next we split the strawberry banana pancakes and the veggie skillet. The pancakes were so decadent and my bf (who's normally not a pancake fan) was impressed. As for the skillet, we added the gyro meat to it (based off what another yelper suggested) and it was the perfect blend of flavors. Highly recommend. Our friends got classic breakfast items (bacon, eggs, hash browns etc) and had no complaints. We all left with our bellies full and hearts happy.
