The place is packed during business hours for good reason, and I hope you don't mind being shoulder to shoulder on the same table as another party that came apart from you. The food is so good that you'll forget where you are as you enjoy the ambiance of home cooking. If you pay too close attention, you may see chaos, but if you focus on who you came with and the food, the experience is a 10/10. P

It's not bad, but it's not the best. I went here because I was invited, and I was hoping that it would really be some good food! And not saying that it wasn't but it reminds me of those small town diners in a creepy town. They do have a parking lot with limited parking , and they charge you to park after 3p They were very nice and welcoming, it's not my vibe but I'd definitely let others know to check it out.

Love this place! So cozy and the prices were so great! The portions were honestly perfect too. I got the mamas daughter's special with scrambled eggs and french toast (I completely forgot to take a picture before devouring my eggs). My friend really enjoyed her chicken and waffles! Our server was kind and helpful!

Ordered for pickup. It was ready very quickly. Hashbrowns were not remotely crispy. Fried egg was very overdone, bread was super cheap, and sandwich did not remotely match the photo they had posted of it which has two plump eggs and on better bread. Sausage gravy had very little sausage in it but the flavor was good.

Good place for comfort food, reasonable pricing and very homey. While the dishes weren't anything out of the ordinary, it still made for a satisfying meal. Would come back

It was the day before Thanksgiving, and we were looking for a breakfast spot before we headed into Dallas to finish our sightseeing. This restaurant is in an industrial section of town, which gives a kind of a sketchy vibe, but don't let that put you off. We were seated quickly, and while we were looking at the menu, we watched as tables towering with pies and other Thanksgiving items were being picked up. With that huge amount of pre-orders, you have to know that the food here is good. My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy, and I got the pecan waffle. My boyfriend loved the sausage gravy, and he actually said that this was the best gravy he's ever eaten. My pecan waffle was fabulous - nice thick, Belgian waffle filled with pecans. As we kept seeing pies getting picked up, we knew it was too late to order one for our own Thanksgiving, but they had pies by the slice so we were able to take two pecan pie slices with us to go. We ate those the next day, and thought we had died and gone to heaven! I wish we lived closer so that we could return to this delicious spot, I would highly recommend you give it a try!

I had a delicious sugar overload with the staff kindness, patience and guidance. I had the French toast and pecan pie With whip cream on top absolutely delicious.

A coworker of mine took us here and I'm so glad she did. The pricing is reasonable and you get a lot of food! The service was great, we were attended to very quickly and the food was out almost immediately. If you're looking for some good home cooking that isn't a chain (or from your own home), I would definitely suggest heading to Mama's Daughters'!

Great place for amazing American no frills food! Service is great also with many attentive waiters and servers that are always within reach. It's a flash back army but it's a great trip down memory to a time when people interacted with others in the same space and surroundings. Great for that reason you can't help to speak to people and talk to those around you.

Such a great restaurant, with comfort food selections and yummy. Only negative is, it is so popular, you might have to wait for a seat.

A local family diner with an old school vibe. You come in and sit anywhere. It's great to bring your grandparents who like to read the newspaper hehehe lol the food is so good. It gives homemade breakfast. Everything I had was a 10/10. Ashley was our server and she was great. I would come back when I need a home cooked meal

Cute retro feeling diner with super good diner food. The cinnamon roll is huge and delicious!

I had lunch here yesterday at this Dallas area institution with 5 locations and this one being the original. It's a meat and three type of restaurant serving home style cooked meals. There is dedicated parking all around the building and inside it's a table service restaurant. The menu offers several breakfast and lunch entrees along with daily specials. From the Thursday specials I chose the braised beef tips over rice with sides of mashed potatoes and brown gravy, fried okra and large Lima beans and rolls for $11.95. The food arrived less than 10 minutes later. I enjoyed every bite (almost). The beef and rice, mashed potatoes and gravy with two big fluffy rolls and the fried okra were delicious. Loved it. My only complaint was the Lima beans were over salted. This was the only reason I didn't give a 5. Finally, the waitress was warm and friendly. I would readily come back here for another meal. Great tasting food at reasonable prices. Mama did a good job in teaching her daughters how to cook!

During the week still a " working mans" diner in the shadows of downtown

Just to the right of the sign were two Level 2 chargers. We each ordered two 2 meat plates, which included two sides. When we got home and opened the to-go boxes, we realized we had WAY over-ordered. We had enough for two meals for each of us! We had chicken and pork ribs, mac & cheese and flat green beans. It was very tasty with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I spoke with the owner and thanked him for supporting EVs, to which he replied, "How could I not? It's what's coming. How could I not get on board?" He mentioned that quite a few of his customers found him on Plugshare.com and stop by regularly for a meal and charge. I had to Google "So mote it be."

What happened today was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The place was visibly dirty and completely unappetizing. The back area was mostly hidden behind what looked like a shower curtain, which did nothing to inspire confidence. There appeared to be only one man working, and he came out only a few times during the entire 45 minutes we waited. Even more concerning, there was a child who looked to be about eight or nine years old wearing latex gloves and repeatedly coming out to the front, apparently helping with restaurant tasks that no child should be doing. Despite having prepaid through Too Good To Go, no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. We stood in a hot dining room with almost no air conditioning while the child wandered in and out and the adult remained behind the curtain. More people arrived behind us, also with prepaid orders, until there were about 10 people waiting. We watched three other customers receive their food before us. One was a DoorDash driver, which made sense, and one woman had arrived before us. However, another woman with a very small order was served ahead of us even though she arrived after we did. When the man finally came out, we showed him our Too Good To Go order. He swiped the app, marking our order as picked up, then disappeared behind the curtain again and never returned with our food. After waiting 45 minutes in a sweltering dining room on a nearly 100-degree Texas day, we gave up. We left without the food we had already paid for. At that point, losing the cost of the meal was preferable to staying in that environment any longer. This was one of the worst pickup experiences I have ever had. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of staff, the presence of a child apparently performing restaurant tasks, the complete absence of customer service, and the fact that we never even received the order we had already paid for, I can say with complete confidence: We will never return.

We had the pleasure of meeting Nana herself. Me and my mom enjoyed speaking with her. She was pleasant and friendly. I loved how she was very down to earth. My mom took a photo with her. My server was the sweetest and most polite person. She checked on me and my mom multiple times. She was friendly and helpful. So I must say my service was welcoming and AMAZING! I felt like part of the family! Now it's not a fancy place, but it was clean and cozy. Like a mom and pops place. Condiments are provided on the table. Even roses that were real are in a vase. You can dine in or they have a carry out side. Well I chose fish since that's what I wanted. The 2 piece filet meal comes with 2 sides. They will bring your food out in a plastic container. So if you have left overs it's already set to go. The food came out hot and fresh. The fish was fried nicely. I wish it was seasoned a bit more for my liking. It was pretty good though. It was a great size and again fried to perfection. The hush puppies were really tasty. The fried corn fritter was delicious. The pickled tartar sauce was unique and I loved it. OMG the cabbage was so DAMN GOOD! This stole the show. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned with love. It touched my soul and I wanted to lick my container. The Mac and Cheese was a NO for me. It was like black pepper and cheese sauce. It was just blah and II didn't even eat it. However, others may like it, but it wasn't that great. Sorry Nana! Overall I had a good visit! I will definitely come back and EAT when in the area. The cabbage won me over. I left feeling happy and full. The southern hospitality was FANTASTIC!
