We popped in this fast casual waffle restaurant early, and I can't believe no one else is doing this. The portions were massive and the tenders were crispy and well seasoned. I ordered the cookie butter and salted caramel waffles and a side of tenders and it was so cheap that I felt like I was ripping them off. I honestly didn't realize the portion would be so massive or I would have just split it with my girlfriend. The waffles were crispy on the outside and oh so fluffy on the inside and absolutely smothered with cookie butter, salted caramel, and syrup. This place is very tasty! I ordered the snack chicken and waffles with the half portion of mac and cheese. My group went on a Saturday morning, so the line took about 30-40 minutes, as there were many groups coming in to have brunch as well. After you order though, the food comes out super fast. The food is absolutely delicious! I waited about 50 minutes in line and about 10 minutes for the food. The sunset mimosa is so good, I just wish they were in bigger glasses. There was only one person taking orders, which I'm sure is why the wait time is so long. Be sure to have a table number in mind before u order because u have to tell them where you're going to sit. There is no wait staff, this is basically the same principle as a food restaurant. Also, make sure to order all the beverages u want because you'll have to get back in line again. My wife and I ordered different things so that we could share... I ordered the chicken & waffles and both were pretty good. My wife ordered the Mess Breakfast and everything except the waffle was GROSS! The eggs are purposely undercooked and they didn't use any seasoning- not even a grain of salt. The potato bites are weird when hot and nasty when room temp. The bacon was disgusting. I couldn't even finish chewing it; had to spit it out in a napkin. It tasted like they cooked it in old grease then left it sitting in the grease. Two stars because how does one screw up a basic breakfast??!! I'm not a fan of the assigned seating as we would have preferred to sit elsewhere due to my son having autism but the line was too long to try to make that happen while keeping him occupied. College Station, Texas. COVID is an interesting moment for the entire world, isn't it? I wonder what many people have done during COVID as the majority of people sheltered in place. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way & traversed from (LAX) to Houston (handled some bidness) to College Station to begin leisure stuff. Leisure stuff was closed meaning I came out to Aggie Nation for nothing =( Austin was opened up so that was nice =) Why did I add this little story? Mess Waffles help alleviate a stressful situation filled with fatigue and disappointment. Nothing like a hearty meal & warm smiles can't fix~! Service: A. Hospitality was stellar. Food: A. Didn't try the entire menu (obviously) but I think I got a gist on their main item - waffles. The waffle may have other variations but I sampled the thin version with fruits and caramel on top & the fat/thick, Belgian-style waffle with the fried chicken (see pics). The caramel & fruits hid the flour aftertaste and yes, it was basically eating sugar. The chicken was super salty but I just tasted it. Fruit selection. Surprised at the various succulent flavors. Ripe, fresh, cold and tasty. Pure bliss, awesome selection or I'm just lucky. Location: Unknown. I'm not a local so I can't say. It was across the street from Texas A&M but the whole town is across the street =) Parking can be an issue during peak hours. There is plenty of parking but some walking in this heat/humidity might be too much for those who have health issues or are handicap. Decor/Interior: A It's standard trendy place. My visit consisted of COVID isolation so the dining room was spacious. Plus, it was 630am with no one around. The patio is where it's at anyways. After being in a California jail cell for 30 days, eating in a damn patio was pretty sweeeet. And having my morning cigar on the patio for dessert was double sweet. For the price, the portions were a little smaller than I expected. And now as it is a restaurant, the time from ordering food to eating is significantly shorter than the past! This is absolutely my favorite place in town. Best brunch restaurant in town. Not only is the food outstanding, the service is impeccable. The staff here go out of their way to make you feel welcomed into the restaurant. Really fun place that's popular with the A&M crowd. It is A&M owned. It's a small place in a strip mall that serves primarily breakfast items like chicken and waffles, French toast, or mac and cheese. So, not terribly healthy stuff but very enjoyable. It's a fairly simple menu that's executed very well and little options for each let you add some variety to the dish. For example, there are a number of seasoning choices for the French toast such as strawberries or nutella. You can order from a couple different degrees of spice for the spicy chicken waffles. All our dishes were delicious and plated nicely. Prices weren't cheap for the type of food that it is but it wasn't quite artsy tourist pricing either. The place is supposed to be dog-friendly too. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. My only knock on the place is the wait. During peak times you might wait an hour in line. There are two checkout registers but the weekend lunch day we were there only one was open. Once ordered, the food didn't take long to get to us so I was a little surprised by the wait. I think there should be a seperate area for pickup so that it can be quick and safer, Atleast right now. Another thing was that I guess they are fine with open Cary because a guy came in with his gun on his belt and just stood around and eventually went to the bathroom. Coming here for brunch was the best decision I've made all weekend in Aggieland! Wow so delicious!! We ordered right away, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations! The environment was lively, modern, open, pet friendly and a little crowded (because everyone wanted delicious waffles)! The chicken and waffles are a must! If you want to try something sweet too, I recommend getting a snack size (kids) chicken waffles and a snack size (kids) Nutella waffles. That was the best decision we made! You get the best of both worlds for the most reasonable price. Chicken and Waffles: First of all, I could just eat their chicken all day everyday, not even exaggerating! It was nice and crisp on the outside and seasoned so well, but perfectly tender in the inside. The waffle was fluffy and not too crisp, therefore didn't fall apart like other waffles that come with chicken. On the side, I got the spicy honey and the maple aioli. The maple aioli was by far my favorite. It had a kick of spicy complimented by an aftertaste of sweet and the creaminess made it even more savory. The spicy honey was also delicious and it tasted exactly what it sounds like: honey with a kick! As a fan of honey, I loved it but as a baby when it comes to spice, I preferred the maple aioli!
